I am wondering what took so long to issue Amber alert? I think the amber alert system is flawed. They need to determine way before 72 hours the status. The first few hours are the most important. I as a citizen much rather look for someone and it be a false alarm rather than it be too late.

I have several and I mean several questions on this..
Who called the mother, the phone records can be obtained. If it was a place of business especially.

Did Johnathan have a cell phone that he used?

Why if the step father at home why did Jonathan need a babysitter?

Was it a man, woman or CHILD that called the job..whomever took the call had to of known at least that much... I am assuming it was not Johnathan due to the fact that I think he would of said on the call can I talk to my "mom"... it seems that someone called trying to warn her of somthing then backed out as if didnt want to get involved?? (perhaps a possible reason for the hand up call at work) Maybe they got scared and hung up OR the phone was hung up FOR them

What kind of neighborhood is it?? I live in a decent place however if a 12 year old is walking around with a video game at christmas there are bad kids in my neighborhood who may certainly try and take it from him, confront him, argue and perhaps lead to a murder. Thefts are rampid around Christmas... I dont know why this senario keeps popping into my mind, but there was the Maddie Clifton case here in Florida years ago and the neighbor did it, then there was the case of Eric Smith the little 13 year old that killed neighbor for no apparent reason back in I think 1994.

Does anyone else have a suspision of neighborhood kids??
If I were LE I would deffinatly consider it strongly. The kids are out of school and if it was at an apartment complex then they are out and about as most kids are.

Please comment as to your thoughts on a kid in the neighborhood.
I just get a very bad feeling that if he was ADD/ADHD he may have all ready had some kids in neighborhood that perhaps treated him differently due to the fact that my daughter has adhd and she is a little emotional, loud, and sensitive with children in the neighborhood.. and being that a child with add/adhd will in fact most likley not be so passive if a kid confronted him with the game... if hyperactivity was part of the add/adhd then if confronted with a senario where someone told him to give the game to them.. he most likley would put up a fuss not to do it.. (just my expierence with add/adhd)

Please comment on as if this seems reasonable as a possible senario?
I pray that he is safe, however any child missing I normally hope for the best but look at the reality..this just doesnt look good.

Could someone from the area give us an idea what part of Houston that Jonathan went missing? We have multiple feeds on the scanner and it would really help to know.

I'm in Texas, about six hours north of Houston. Even in the winter, it's hard to get my kids to wear a coat if they aren't planning on being outside very long. I have one daughter who wears sandals year-round! We get used to having the freedom from bulky clothes and heavy shoes since the weather is usually not bitter cold, even in the winter. I can see a boy of his age insisting he doesn't need a coat to run a short errand.

I used to work at the library right down the street from this intersection (43rd and Ella). I am very familiar with the families and kids who live around there. It is NW Houston and a changing area. Garden Oaks and Oak Forest and side by side neighborhoods that are slowly becoming more upscale. Garden Oaks is mostly very nice, but the Shepherd intersection divides the nicer area from a pretty rundown area. I know the house with the signs in the yard-- very strange!

I just don't think it was kids stealing a video game, mostly because of the emergeny call. I am leaning more towards someone chickened out on the call. I don't think the person was made to hang-up unless it went down like this.... the babysitter called and her husband or boyfriend made her hang-up. I hope more details come out soon.

Northwest side of town.

Garden Oaks is the neighborhood/subdivision.

Let me know what other questions you have - as I said, I live within 5 or so miles from this.

I don't think we have enough facts nor CNN has enough facts for a lot of speculation. I don't appreciate Jean C and the talking heads all talking about him as if he were dead already. It's looking to me like Jean C's style of reporting is wild sensationalism.

And am I on a different planet to think it would not be unusual for a 12 year old to go two doors away without a bodyguard. I was babysitting when I was twelve years old.

An example of the sensationalism I find so offensive is Jean C. saying he was anxious for Santa Claus to come and maybe somebody posing as Santa lured him away. The kid is twelve years old.

Sad all around.

Questions for those in the area... entrance and exit to this apartment and are there any complexes like gas stations or stores in this area?

It always freaks me out when searchers go into brush and forest looking for children because it just reminds me that children don't run off into that terrain for the fun of it - at least not with a video game in tow.

ok...looks like we're starting to get some details:

Updated article: http://www.click2houston.com/news/26291558/detail.html

Jonathan Foster was last seen at his family's apartment in the area of North Shepherd Drive and 43rd Street at about 1:45 p.m. on Friday.

Police said that he might be in the company of an adult woman with a raspy voice.

Jonathan's mother said he had been staying at a baby sitter's home a few doors down from where the family lived. He went home to get a video game but never returned to the baby sitter's home

The area is a mix of houses, drug stores (CVS), brick and mortar stores (Sears), a bingo place, a church, and further down Shepherd are a bunch of auto salvage shops.

This is a highly populated area...I live further North and can't recall immediately what stores are in close proximity...but I can tell you that I've NEVER been to this area when it was "desolate"...and I believe there are convenience stores, strip centers (both kinds-maybe :innocent:) in close proximity...

Maybe Blue Eyed Chick ( neighbor) will chime in...

The key in this is WHO made that call. LE should be able to track that. I know they have means beyond what I can even imagine as far as phone records. I have a several family members that worked for phone company back when they were only land lines and even then.. they most certainly could find out where a call came from ... everything we do has a record to be traced.. WHO made that call?

The timeline is very short timeline if 'somthing went wrong" a planned abduction is somewhat thought out, however a argument or abuse gone too far is a spur of the moment i would think that the babysitter, stepfather would be in a panic and not have alot of well though out places or options as far as where to dispose of a body.

What about the search efforts have they brought in seach dogs? Have they found anything at all as to the path he was taken to and from the babysitter.

I wonder if in fact he was playing video games? Was the console hooked up? What about finger prints on the console to prove he in fact played it?

Where does the mom work at? Who would have access to the number, and what type of place was it? Were there any calls to directory assistance during that time to ask for a number of wherever she worked at?

Just read the comments and supposedly the aunt replied that he was living with her for 4 years and just moved back to TX last November

http://abclocal.go.com/ktEXASrk/story?section=news/local&id=7866784

Now there is a second comment from the same person saying that he moved from her home to Texas in Nov. '09, where he lived with his grandma until just recently moving in with his mom and her new hubby. Sounds like she doesn't trust "stepdad". She is very concerned.

I also noticed in the comment section the Aunt says she does not think there was a babysitter, that would account for no name or anything out in MSM about the babysitter...So if you take that out of the picture then all you have is the Stepdad and Johnathan.

Another missing child with a step parent involved. I am beginning to think Dr. Laura is right when she says that divorced parents shouldn't think about remarrying until their kids are adults.
