I saw some speculation that Mona called in the discovery of the body herself, but wouldn't 911 have a record of the number called from? I know there are disposable cell phones but she would have had to thrown that phone away in a hurry if she was the caller.

I hate to ask this, but I need to... I am not trying to offend anyone, but could the slam-dunk, express lane to capital murder charges be at all race related? In Texas, black woman kidnaps, tortures, murders 12 yr old white boy. I'm not saying that the crime itself was race related. JF was targeted for his age and gender, I think. Does what I am asking make any sense?

I live in Houston and I do not think race has anything to do with this. If the race of the perpetrator and the victim were reversed, I don't think you would see any different determination to get a capital conviction. If the accused was middle class and white, the difference would be she would have some lawyer playing to the media, but I don't think the outrage would be any different. The innocence and vulnerability of the victim is absolute, the brutality of the crime is unusual, and the evidence is driving this reaction. Not saying prejudice does not exist -- just not in this case.

Because the media reporting has been so bad in this case you can believe nothing and that's what we do.....speculate, brain storm, think. If we didn't what the heck else would we post about the weather? :crazy:

Looks like some sort of garage or storage area to me. Was Mona doing some sort of work there?

What I keep thinking about is how much premeditation did Mona put into this crime?

I have a feeling this wasn't a spur of the moment idea.

I think she was hanging around that day and saw Jonathan's step dad leave and took her opportunity to kidnap him then. She had already talked to Jonathan that day.

I don't believe she was crazy enough to store her oxygen and acetylene tanks inside her home. That would just be insane since the valve could leak and when they do those tanks can go off like a bomb because they are extremely pressurized. Specialty gas workers have been killed being hit by one of these pressurized tanks when it erupted and that is why all tanks are stored out in an open area. I have seen pictures of accidents where the tank went through a 4 foot solid wall of concrete like a torpedo.

SO......IMO, that means this horrid woman went out and got her welding torch and tanks and brought them inside her home to do her unforgivable acts.

I wonder if she brought them inside before she went to abduct Jonathan or did she go and bring them in as he was bound, gagged and helpless in her home?

I just get a sense that we are reading about a killer like we have not quite ever seen before.

I thought before this case that Joesph Duncan was at the top of the list but I think this woman may even be more sadistic.

It looks to me like the Mayor may have been touring some plant that Mona worked at.

Bumping this because her MS is not fit to visit. It has a virus attached and seems to track you after you visit her MS. This time I learned my lesson - curiousity might kill the cat.

I am sure that LE would know if she is the one who called in the tip but I just don't think that is something that has been released yet, the fact that she is as sick as she is to go to the mothers home right after dumping her sons body out of the truck and knowing what she had been doing all day to his poor body, I would not be surprised if she had not drove around where the body was dumped that weekend as well as being the one to call in where he was since it had been 3 days without anyone finding him.

I thought inside the home, but I'm not 100%. But ITA, I really believe that if she is tied to other crimes - this is going to be something we have NEVER seen before.
