Damn I miss my buddy. It's hard to believe that you spend everyday with someone and they vanish overnight. At least all I got is good memories and hope!
So we know that the truck made it to its ending spot no more than 27 hours before it was found. I'm subtracting a gallon of fuel since someone would have used that much to drive to that spot. You can subtract another hour for every gallon of remaining fuel. It's a 28-gallon tank. The police report should say exactly the time of the officer's arrival at the vehicle scene. So, do the math. That might help to narrow the times when the driver would have been passing by cameras in Abilene. The person left the vehicle in a hurry and might have jumped into another vehicle. Maybe a camera would show the other vehicle, too. That would be ideal.
When he left dfw airport he came back to Seymour then from Seymour towards abilne. The Seymour police gave me that info from the phone records they got. I know who he talked to last when I was with him after that I don't know. I told Seymour police if they told me the numbers that were called last I could probably tell them who they were. The family I heard hired a private investigator that I have begged to talk to but haven't heard from anyone but his wife from day one. I look know Joe deserves the respect of knowing people do care and putting forth 110% from family friends and law enforcement.
Hello John...thanks for joining us here. I'm sorry that you are facing all the obstacles to finding your friend. I'm sure it's very frustrating. I've reviewed this entire thread. In the past I've found that creating a timeline can be very helpful so I took a stab at making one. Please add anything that I've overlooked or pieces that you know that haven't been mentioned. Adding approximate times might be helpful. Perhaps there are also other family members who joined us here that can fill in missing information.
Thursday, July 2: Got gas in Seymour and headed to DFW airport (time unknown)
Thursday, July 2: Arrived in Dallas & stopped at Shell to top off tank (time unknown)
Thursday, July 2: Arrived at DFW airport and dropped John off (time unknown)
Thursday, July 2: Based on cell phone records, Joe returned to Seymour - Seymour is approximately 2 1/2 hours from the airport - 155 miles at an average of 22 - 24 miles to the gallon. Estimating that he would have had 1/2 tank of gas left. Arrived in Seymour late Thursday or early Friday morning?
Friday, July 3: Information needed
Saturday, July 4: Information needed
Sunday, July 5: Based on reported phone records, Joe's cellphone pinged to a tower near Abilene (time unknown)
Sunday, July 5: Vehicle found 30 -40 miles south of Abilene between 3 & 7 p.m.
With creation of the timeline, there is so much missing information that I'm not really sure it is helpful, however is raises lots of questions for me.
1) Does his family (wife & children) live with him in Seymour?
2) If so, did they see him Friday, Saturday or Sunday?
3) Did he work on Friday or was it a holiday?
4) Did family, friends or co-workers see him on Friday, Saturday or Sunday?
5) Have his financial records been pulled and reviewed (i.e. large withdrawals before or after he went missing)?
6) Was his cell phone found with his truck?
I'm aware that some of these questions probably won't be answered and that LE probably won't release details on the phone records or financial records...but just my questions....for what they're worth.
He talked to his mom on July 2 and told her they had 3 days off and he was taking his friend to the airport. His children live in California and his wife in st George Utah so we know they didn't see him . His phone and wallet were in the car when they found it .
I hate to suggest this. But I think it's prudent to insist that law enforcement conduct a search with dogs. They should search the area where the truck was. At the least, it would rule out the unlikely scenario that he wandered off on foot.
He is listed on people searching people nation wide on Facebook and it's been in Seymour Abilene and Wichita Falls newspapers and several tv news broadcasts. His wife and brother will be in Texas on Thursday and I'm sure they will distribute flyers. We have been sharing on Facebook and ask all our friends and relatives in Texas to share! We want to find him!!!
