It really wasn't clear...I've read this thread from the start...but let me go back and see if I can find the reference to the pizza guy. I would think though, if he stayed a bit, they were at least familiar with him...gong back to read some more.

I also have a question I wanted to find anyway...wasn't there ice one the steps? be back soon.

I hadn't seen a reference to a pizza guy before, unless it is the same 'friend who visited' and changed his story and came and left and the mom said she was suspicious of. That is who I want to know more about. If he was a pizza guy, and he came back later to visit, that would be interesting.

I was wondering if he was accidentally hit by a vehicle and the driver panicked and hid him. I guess anything is possible.

Yes, this is a distinct possibility. Backover accidents involving toddlers are more common than most people think. And it was dark outside.

Ice covered the steps outside, leading Benitez to believe that there would be signs of Josh if he did get out.

One individual came in and out of the house between when Benitez last saw the toddler and reported him missing, but that person is not considered a suspect.

I guess even if the garbage was taken the think they might be able to detect some traces IF the poor baby was placed there/ NOT GOOD.

Last Sunday they were searching "garbage" I wonder if that meant they were searching the garbage in the garbage cans?

There are comments on this article that suggest that the pizza delivery guy came in and hung out for awhile and that the party was spread over several houses in the immediate area. As far as I know, this is just rumor, but has anyone else heard anything to this effect? I know this is the first I had heard of it.

There was , in fact, one visitor that the mom was very suspicious of. She claimed that he
'changed his story' and he left the home briefly and returned. I hope he is one of those given a polygraph.

It's this kind of thing that really makes me frustrated. Why wouldn't LE err on the side of caution and take the trash cans as soon as it became apparent that the child was not going to be found that first 24 hours? :maddening:


I wonder what the stats are of children who go missing and missing children who are found alive or dead. I am discouraged that we seem to see the same lack of attention to detail in these cases. Important investigative tools which are not very hard to do are put off until the trail is cold. LE seems to want every case to be a straightforward runaway or wandering off, and they use the "lack of evidence" excuse ad nauseum.

In want to find a way to inspire police departments to take a proactive stance to be prepared for the inevitable missing child. Right now, it seems that predators and neglectful or abusive parents are at a great advantage. Unless they are spotted dumping a body or caught with blood on their hands, their chances of getting away with murder aren't that bad.

In one of her first statements [ I posted it upstream and I will go back and find it] she said she was suspicious of the visitor, he had changed his story, AND THE POLICE WOULD NOT LISTEN TO HER THEORY.

So she may or may not have known what car he drove or how he arrived. He may have driven off at the start to 'help search' for the kid and actually hd him in his trunk. IDK

I can go find it, hopefully. I posted the trash schedules for the area at the end of last thread. It's mapped out, I think their's was scheduled to be picked up Tuesday.

Does he mean one of these? I've never hear these called anything other than a knit hat/cap. In Canada, they'd say tuque.

There are also Muslim beanies that are normally knit. Some non-Muslims wear them just because they are fashionable. Also, Rasta beanies.

IIRC, Monday night on NG the mother said there were 2 doors. One that they used and one that she was certain wasn't used.
