That is an odd thing to say. How would they know for sure he was nowhere close. There is at least one RSO within yards of their home. I think it would be in the back of their minds that he could be close, if they really had no idea where he was.

I remember Haleigh Cumming's grandma said she was in another state, when no one supposedly knew where she was. Casey Anthony said Caylee was close to home, when Caylee was missing.

Does this mean that the parents know something? or did they say this because they couldn't find him anywhere close by?

They had looked around the house and yard by the time they called for help.

It might be because the dogs did not pick up his scent around the 2 mile radius I suppose.

But if someone has him neatly tucked away the dogs might not pick up on it.

The parents said that the DOGS did not find his scent leaving the yard, so he was nowhere around there. They are putting their faith in the dogs. They didn't just say "he's not close." They said it in the context of the dogs didn't find him, so he can't be close.

Kat - Team Adam WAS there, I saw them in pictures. There was one with a guy wearing a Team Adam shirt, he had his back to the camera. Of course I cannot FIND the picture now, but there is mention in this article. There has also been mention of NCMEC being there in Joshua articles.

He is Utah's representative of Team Adam, a nationwide nonprofit organization devoted to searching for missing children.

Schmidt said he was just returning home from Texas where he was helping to search for an 18-month-old child who has been missing for a week.

I know but we do not know if it was really taken that day. LE has not confirmed this. JMO

LE "released" that picture specifically BECAUSE it was taken "a few hours before" Joshua was reported missing.

That tells me that they likely verified that fact. Because we had the picture days before they "released" it. I'm guessing the few extra days were them confirming it was taken when they said it was.

Or, LE made a decision to outright lie to the public about when this picture was taken... for which I can see no motive at all.

I understand what you mean lol, but it wasn't Nancy it was a reporter...who could be wrong, but he seems very amendment when he stated it and he has been following the case closely.

MICHAEL BOARD, WOAI NEWSRADIO: Who knows what happened. The only people who know what happened in this home are the people who were in there. We know that all of them except for one have given polygraph tests to police. The only person who has not been given a polygraph at this point is the mom because she`s pregnant. Pregnancy is a big problem with polygraph tests.

This reporter has been far from accurate in my experience with recent cases.

Quite frankly I have found myself screaming at him on TV several times. :waitasec:

Not sure if this has been answered, but when I flew with my son, I had to have a birth certificate, and ID matching, we had different last names, so I also had to have a notarized paper with his fathers permission, and his name was on paperwork, I think it was maybe on the actual ticket??....... And this was 5 years ago HTH!

i flew last week with two children that did not share my last name. no id was required by southwest airlines for them. The airline had no idea if their names were factual on their tickets or not.

My daughter was a frequent flyer on Southwest and TWA, and she was never required to show ID. All I had to do was verify that she was my daughter and tell them her name. I suppose I could have had anyone's child with me a the airport, as they were willing to accept my word for her ID.

Thank you, thank you, MsFacetious! This helps a LOT. There have been some badly worded reports from some of the media on this case.

This clears up a bunch of questions in my mind.

We went over this on the Zahra Forum, due to alleged lies to the Gov by AB that allowed AB and EB to get Zahra's passport and take her out of AU - "rules" vary greatly by airlines and are not always enforced.

I think all anyone who wanted to abduct a baby would need to do is know which airlines not to use, problem solved. Of course in the case of baby selling, the proprietors should be handing over the "appropriate" paperwork to the "adoptive" family too.

The two children without my last name are not my children. I told the csr checking us in that they were my friends children. my daughter was flying too. no id needed for any of the three kids.

WOW, WHen I was asked for all of that info about my son, I was flying United.... (I think lol).... Interesting that the rules are so different for each airline! Forgot to mention too, my son was a lap child, so no separate ticket, but the did verify everything. hmmm :waitasec::waitasec:

It depends what their definition of "close" is. It may be just outside the yard, within the one or two mile radius, etc. Or, worst case scenario, they know where he is. :( MOO

Is anyone searching for this baby?

  • #494
I come here fully expecting to read they have found Joshua. Nothing in the news at least when/where i just checked.

Does LE really not have a clue where he is/what happened to him or are they saying that to make someone feel safe? IDK

clucuiano63,
I looked for anything media wise last night and this morning that could tell us if searches are being conducted, I've found nothing.

Thank you, MsFacetious. I didn't know that LE had released that picture.

Personally, to me it was kind of absurd. I have tried to remain on top of getting picture of Joshua to post. Editing those which are dark to make them better quality if possible.

I looked and I had saved (and edited for brightness and color balance) this picture on the 6th. I didn't post it because it didn't fit the original clothing description we were given of beige pants. Even when edited the quality isn't great and I didn't know the timing of the picture. I didn't feel it was worth posting when there were other better quality pictures.

News websites had it up on the 8th. The police "released" it on the 11th. I never did quite understand that... it was already out there. It wasn't a new picture, just a slightly edited one.

But yes, they did "release" it. That would be why I put "release" in the quotation marks. :innocent:

http://kgnb.am/news/police-release-new-photo-missing-toddler-taken-hours-disappearance

A new photo (right) of Joshua Davis Jr., taken just hours before his disappearance, was released on Friday by New Braunfels Police.

Police officials say the photo released Friday pictures the boy in the exact clothes he was wearing the night he disappeared.

@Kat, the media did not say exactly what Angie Flack's relationship is to the family, only that Joshua Davis verified it.

As far as flying with an infant/child---I have flown Delta, United, Southwest, and a few Delta Connections---not once did I need any verification for the child. The last time flew was 06/06/10 to NJ, so that's fairly recent. I think most airlines are pretty lax about that, unless the child is being taken somewhere on an international flight. When my sister flew to Israel, she DID have to have the notarized letter from the child's father, birth certificate, as well as passports. My 2 cents on that.

Still no news. Sometimes, no news is good news. I hope that's the case here.

I think LE "released" it because they did in fact verify the date/time stamp on that picture. I have an iphone---just upgraded from a blackberry, and I don't think on those phones at least you can change the date/time.

I agree. I do find it slightly ironic, however, that a photo of Joshua just happened to have been taken hours before his disappearance. I wonder if it was published anywhere or sent to anyone in the meantime? MOO

As of right now, I think they pulled their camera out and the picture was already on it taken on another day.IMO They changed the date.
