A murder warrant has been issued for the suspect, 31-year-old Che Lajuan Calhoun.

Police provided no information Wednesday on a possible motive or relationship between Josue and Calhoun.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The U.S. Marshals have arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of an 11-year-old boy. Josue Flores was killed as he was walking home from school in north Houston yesterday afternoon.

Authorities say 31-year-old Che Lajuan Calhoun is now in custody, but they have yet to release details surrounding the murder suspect's arrest.

Reports say Calhoun is a local homeless man who goes by 'Detroit', since he is originally from Michigan.

Poor Josue. He seems like a sweet child. I really ache for his family right now.

I live in Houston (though hopefully not for much longer) and this is just sad and outrageous. What is the deal with all of these senseless murders? When did human life become so disposable and devalued? This little boy was simply walking home from school and is stabbed to death by a stranger in broad daylight. We really, really, really need to wake up as a society.

Perhaps Detroit has been found mentally insane? It is otherwise a pretty big F up for LE to charge a man without evidence. Just because he is homelesss doesn't mean he won't carry the stigma of being accused of murder if he is truly innocent.

Maybe eyewitnesses to the attack ID'd him to the police, but he had an alibi that checked out. He had also had an altercation the day before the stabbing, and escaped from police who were trying to arrest him (http://www.chron.com/news/houston-t...ing-11-year-old-fled-police-a-day-7716578.php), so I can see why he seemed like a viable suspect. I feel sorry for the family, but it's important to see that the right person is brought to justice for this terrible crime.
