TX - judge Bill Adams on video physically abusing his daughter

She is almost finished with college. She has at least a part time job. She is calm, confident, well spoken and intelligent. It seems that she is now just reaching an age where she feels independent and safe and FREE enough to be able to handle releasing this tape. FWIW, her mom said she has only known for a matter of months that the tape existed, and apparently the dad did not know until just recently. It's pitiful that all the "man" can talk about is why she is being vengeful in the release of the tape. He completely ignores the issue of the subject matter as if that is irrelevant.

This video brought me to tears, as well as vivid memories of the pain of being hit much the same way with a razor strap when I was small. I hope this at the very least gets removed from the bench. I wonder about the younger sister...did she suffer the same fate? If she's not 18 yet, I hope CPS removes her from the home. I pray that there is some way to prosecute this monster.

Her form of cerebral palsy affects the muscle control and coordination in her arms and legs......the areas that he was hitting with a belt! NOT that he should have hit her anywhere but it just compounds the horror and probably the pain she felt was more than we can even imagine.

Well, anyway, I worked with kids with CP, and her coordination seems just fine to me, but that's not the point AT ALL.

She just gets up from this beating, walks around the room and picks up something from a drawer. I just think taking even ONE of these hits, would have put me on the floor, and she takes 18 during the video with her mother saying earlier "I already spanked her", so God knows how many total hits that child took. These are full force hits with a leather belt. I swear, I have this desire to take 18 full force swings at that arrogant man with a leather strap, and THEN sit him down to state his position on this whole thing.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is going to excuse this mans actions and absolutely nothing will ever convince him that he was wrong, that he violated a sacred bond between father and daughter and that he is a monster. He may have broken her heart but thank goodness he didn't break her spirit. I believe Hillary is the new poster child for abuse victims, she now has a voice and has opened millions of eyes to see what abuse truly is. My hope is that her voice will be head loud and clear all across the world.

It appears that this was a common occurence in the home, thus the reason why this yound lady could function afterwards. Many abuse victims will tell you they learn how to block out the horror and the pain. However, you and I probably could not that's for sure.

Seeing this video actually makes me feel better about my painful childhood. Although my uncle sexually abused me secretly for years, both of my parents were loving and nurturing, and never raised a hand at me. [ except one time when I was a teen and my mom had every reason to slap my bratty face that once.] Seeing this devastating video horrified me, and I feel awful for anyone to have lived this hell. My father, bless his soul, never ever would have thought of such a thing. And I can see how miraculous that really is. I cannot imagine how devastating that must be.

She made it all the way through minus two classes. That is a miracle when you look at how horrific her parents made her childhood!

I thought that Dr Drew was going to pop a blood vessel while discussing this case, and that woman that said that there are no laws against beating children ... wow. She was pretty much stating that it was okay because there's no law against it. Hope something is done soon to protect the vulnerable children from their parents in places like Texas.

I feel just awful for that child! I loved NG tonite when she said "judge adams I am coming after you and I bringing lady justice with me"! And how I hope and pray she does. Dr Drew was upset as well, I cant post links w my moldy mobile, but he said that a beating like the judge gave his daughter actually changes the brain, making it difficult to cope. I thought of all the alcoholics and addicts in the world. Yes I cried and could not watch it all, but I am thankful I never was treated that way by my parents and that I never did that to my kids.

Ooops! The judge is using money to control his daughter which is another form of abuse. 10 to 1 he did that to his ex. Thats what my ex did to me and my kids, very manipulative. I would love to see his daughter get him for every red cent that miserable womanizer has for the trauma she endured. It makes me even sicker to realize that it happened to her frequently, why else would she tape it? Poor kid.

Well, my guess is, dropping out of college two classes shy of a degree is the only way she could think of to shoot the finger at this monster. Honestly, I think she folded her hand just short of success to send up a red flag. And then, later, posted this horrific video to again send up a red flag. This time, her arrow finally hit the mark.

For those in the media who say hmmm this isn't child abuse, hmmm the laws are wishy washy, allow yourself to be beaten like this, and then get back to us. Every single hit she took in this video made me suck in air. It was like he was swinging to hit a home run with every single hit.

I read somewhere that this judge is a juvenile judge? Wonder what his sentencing is like? Actually when I was little this kind of corporal punishment was acceptable. He was probably beat like that as a child which is no excuse but he probably feels that is why it is acceptable.

Yes - I thought the same thing last night watching Dr Drew. He was extremely, & rightly so, furious and outraged over the video.
But when that Guest Lady Judge, who was also intro'd as a "peer of Judge Adams", stated that beating with a belt wasn't that bad,
no laws against it, blah blah blah ... I thought Dr Drew was going to lose control over how angry he was at HER for saying that sh#t!

I felt his anger, cuz I wanted to punch her right through the TV screen!!!

She was totally outraged also!

At the end of the segment, in her furious tone of voice, she said:

"Judge Adams, you better watch out!
Because I am COMING AFTER YOU!
And Lady Justice is COMING WITH ME!!!" :furious:

So here is where the mother (who participated fully in this whole horrid abuse episode) is sitting there by her beautiful daughter.

I kept wanting the daughter to backhand the mother. Really. Just reach up, and backhand her so she falls backwards off the set.

The mother says uhhhhh, when I listen to that I sound like a zombie. (NO SHE DIDN'T. SHE SOUNDED LIKE SHE WAS FULLY ENGAGED. She was totally in agreement with this monster husband of hers, telling tales on the daughter, agreeing with this man, hitting this girl again, agreeing with her sleeping on the couch).

It shows an interview of Matt Lauer with Hillary Adams, (the girl who received the beating from Judge Adams)
and her mother Halley Adams. Hillary states that the beatings were an on-going thing for quite awhile.

It also shows Judge Adams reluctantly talking to a news reporter, where he says that
the beating wasn't as bad as it looks, that he has apologized, that more will be revealed
about why the beating happened.... (it's as though he's saying "She deserved it.")
