George De La Cruz, the estranged husband who was indicted for murder after his wife Julie Ann Gonzalez went missing in 2010, pleaded not guilty on Friday in the Travis County court...

Judge Brown set the case to begin trial on March 30...

After the hearing, De la Cruz came back to the Travis County Jail where he is being held with a $500,000 bail.

The trial for the murder of Julie Ann will take place March 31st,2015 in Austin, Texas at the Thurman-Blackwell- Criminal Justice Center.
We ask for continued prayers not only for Julie's family but, also for the family of George Delacruz.
These last five years have been difficult for everyone.Please pray for the truth to be told.

Friday, the defense requested more time. Reported on KXAN news updates for KDRP FM radio, but I was unable to locate a link to post. According to Julie Ann's FB group, April 14th is the new trial date.

She wanted out of her marriage with George De La Cruz, but Julie Ann Gonzalez may have already been looking forward to another marriage to her new lover, Aaron Breaux.
Breaux and Gonzalez had rekindled a relationship after she left De La Cruz and despite being frustrated by her husband’s refusal to sign divorce papers, Gonzalez was happy according to Breaux.
“We were talking about getting an apartment together,” said Aaron Breaux, the first witness called to the stand in the murder trial for De La Cruz. “We are talking about getting married and having kids.”
On the night before her disappearance, Breaux said he and Gonzalez had dinner at his apartment, a place he said she stayed often. The next morning on March 26, 2010, he left for work at 6 a.m., kissing her and telling her he loved her.
It would be the last time he saw her.

The marriage between Gonzalez and De La Cruz had become verbally abusive and “somewhat physical,” according to Gonzalez’s cousin. Michael Soto was the first to testify on Day 2 of the murder trial for De La Cruz. The troubles only grew once the couple’s daughter, Layla, was born, according to Soto. He said Gonzalez no longer wanted to be around De La Cruz’s family and that De La Cruz was acting strange and pressuring his wife the day she went to remove her belongings from his home.

video[/h]Prosecutors argue that it was De la Cruz who posted on Gonzalez's social media sites, and also sent text messages on her phone, to make investigators believe she was still alive. Amber Hays, a friend of Gonzalez, testified about receiving one of the text messages. She told the jury that she tried to speak with Julie Ann by phone after seeing the website posting, but the calls went to voice mail. Hays went on to say she eventually received the strange text message from Gonzalez's phone stating she was going to Colorado to live with a coworker by the name of James.

Court done for the day. Judge Cliff Brown just said there will be no court on Friday, but expects this trial to be done by next Wednesday.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — After finding a trench dug beneath the shed in her backyard, Victoria De La Cruz was so worried she called police, but her panic did not end when they arrived.
“We had to call an ambulance to the house because of her accelerated heart rate and her nerves,” said Austin Police Sergeant Jeff Greenwalt about visiting the home in the weeks after Julie Ann Gonzalez disappeared.
