Do we have to wait til Friday for the results of the poly?

  • #182
How extraorinarily odd it is that if George is the reason Julie disappeared he has agreed to a poly by a talk show. :waitasec:

Even more odd that the title of the show is "Runaway Moms".

I really don't like Dr. Phil (or his mentor) but I guess I might have to watch. Unless someone will come here and post what was said  lol.

Thanks. I tried it too and it didn't work for me either. Can you refresh our memories about what was said?

The uncle called into the show & was talking about how the family couldn't get LE to do anything & that they didn't consider Julie a MP...he also said something about talking to detectives that work cases on the east side & they said they couldn't get involved...(this is to the best of my recollection because DBF started asking questions & I was like "Shhhh -shhh!!)....anyway, the uncle had mentioned that Julie hadn't used CC or ATM & then Acevedo said they were gonna use "technology" to investigate....I just wanted to hear it all again because how can they use "technology" to investigate if they are saying they can't legally get warrants to pull cellphone records, etc., right?

Oh - and the reason I guess Acevedo was on the show was because he'd announced the day before that he didn't get the Dallas PD chief job....I bet he wasn't happy that the Dallas "powers that be" had come to Austin to talk to folks & I can't help but believe they knew about the stink surrounding this case.

I do have the highest regard for APD - almost married an APD LEO in fact -- but, I'm not liking how they're handling this case!!

Title of the show - just a thought but maybe a good way to get someone to come on the show and talk?

I can’t find any other information about this (e.g. results). This woman who posted was at the taping on May 2nd. It seems Julie’s mother, Julie’s aunt, George, and George’s mother were on the show.

Read her entire blog post – what is your perception?

[snipped]

With former FBI agent/Polygraph expert Jack Trimarco on hand to administer, Dr. Phil persuaded George to agree to be tested! Given the opportunity to clear his name or possibly reveal involvement or knowledge regarding Julie Ann's dissappearance, George complied. For approximately 90 minutes, Trimarco and George established and agreed to the parameters of the test, then continued with very specific questions aiding the investigation and discovery in Julie's disappearance.

[snipped]

Kudos, Dr. Phil, for facilitating this discovery.

I read that blog (thank you for the link cloudajo) and I'm wondering where the information George is a POI came from? I haven't seen LE state that as of yet.

I wondered the same.

I've tried to catch up with this thread and may have missed something along the way...

1- Her car was repossessed (which was purchased 3 weeks BEFORE going missing), but the day she disappeared, she had money to pay the 'extra' fine to get George served with divorce papers? So this leads me to believe that they repossessed the car after the first payment was not made, and they felt they needed to get the car back, because they felt she wasn't coming back.

2. Friday she was going to pay the courts AND the babysitter...do we know who the babysitter was? Could this be the woman at Best Buy?

3. She ALWAYS had someone go with her to deal with hubby, why was she by herself this Friday? Did she have someone set up to go with her and then they couldn't at the last minute? Or did hubby call her and say the baby needed more medicine and that's why she was there by herself??

4. Did hubby know which Walgreen's she actually worked at? Could he have placed her car at the wrong location, thinking that this was the one she worked at?

5. From what I've read, her family seems close, but WTH--> HIS mom calling police to report her missing? He said because of his issues with her, his mom thought he needed to be under 'police survelience'? WHAT?!?!?

My hinky meter is going haywire on this one...the day she was going to MAKE sure the divorce would happen, she goes 'missing'...IF she was starting a relationship with someone else (BIG IF here)...wouldn't it make sense to stick around to finalize her divorce? (not to mention have custody of her baby) Hopefully, Dr. Phil can shed some light on this for us...

respectfully snipped by me...

I actually had not heard this, did JVM mention?

VERY reasonable point, as IIRC they (Walgreen's worked@ and car abandoned@) were on the same road and within maybe 10 blocks of each other?

...

I'm not sure the car lot would assume she's not coming back. JMHO. I thought about this and on JVM her Aunt and Uncle stated that she had recently purchased the car but it was not a new car. New to her, not new in make.

Speculation on my part: It's possible she purchased the car with onlot financing that will come get your car after missing one or two payments. Payments at those type of lots can be weekly or monthly. Just a thought.

Does anyone have a link where LE states that her case has been updated to missing endangered? TIA.

IIRC it was stated that it had been (I just can't remember who stated it as that).

If it has been then I'm fairly confident that LE has reviewed the footage of the Walgreens where her car was found. Inside and outside and they wouldn't really need to get an court order to do so. Unless mgmt gave them issues they usually don't.

Her Aunt and Uncle stated on JVM that a young woman entered the Walgreens where her car was found and stated she was having car trouble and leaving her car there.

IMHO LE has looked at those video's and either ruled the young woman out as Julie or confirmed it was her.

Same goes with the video footage (if available) of the parking lot of the same Walgreens.

LE isn't communicating with the Aunt and Uncle and very little with the Mother. It is an active investigation, sometimes it goes that way. IMHO.

I am curious of the statement by LE found in an earlier article that states they have reason to believe she left of her own volition. Did they see her on the Walgreens video of inside or outside?

As for George, although his story is odd and suspicious I have to wait and watch the show on friday to come to a conclusion. Usually though it is someone close to a missing woman---husband, ex husband, BF or ex BF that is responsible if it comes to be she has met harm. JMHO.

I wanted to add a thought I forgot in the above post. If she had initially left of her own free will. So much time has passed that I do fear for her safety and wellbeing.

Personlly, I find it beyond ridiculous to have to be forced into watching Dr. Phil to find out if a possible murder or kidnapping suspect/POI/whatever passed a lie detector test and would think this fact alone would humiliate LE into taking stronger action in this case. If he is so willing to take such a test, he should have been hustled right into the police station to take one a week ago when he was on JVM saying he would take one. Just another way that crimes get linked to entertainment in this day and age...Of course all of this is JMO.

LE needs to take full control over this before it becomes a circus instead of a search for a missing young woman.

http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1004/28/ijvm.01.html About 1/3 of the way down-

G. SOTO: Well, Julie didn`t trust you, and you know that. Every time Julie went to go meet you with (snipped-child's name) to do the exchange, she always went escorted because she didn`t trust you. This particular time she wasn`t escorted, and this happens (CNN.com\Aired April 28, 2010 - 19:00:00 ET)

I have not followed this case as closely as others, but found out I do know someone very close to the case. I was told he did NOT pass the LDT.

  • #196
I am shocked he would go thru w/taking this test if he could not pass it...just taking it, if he is guilty, shows sign of being a sociopath IMO

IIRC it was stated that it had been (I just can't remember who stated it as that).

According to Julie’s mother on JVM show on Apr 29 (8 days ago), the APD called her and told her that Julie was now considered missing, endangered and high priority, and that they are definitely investigating and looking into everything.

When contacted by reporter Michelle Sigona, Detective Scott said he was not allowed to comment on whether this case been elevated to an endangered missing persons case as a high priority case or not, without the permission of his public information office. The public information office said the commander would not give him permission right now, because it is now a national story.

http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1004/29/ijvm.01.html

I looked at the APD website News Releases (Public Information Office) just to see if they had anything. I see news releases where they are seeking assistance with bank robberies and sexual assault cases, but nothing about seeking assistance in a missing person case.

I took this to mean George's mother called police to file some kind of report to cover George, because of problems in the past, where Julie wanted George on police supervision. I wonder when George's mother filed the report. I think this transcript excerpt will help explain.

=========
COOPER (Julie's Aunt): Well, Jane, another funny thing is after we have reported her missing, that we were informed by the police officers that came out that George had already filed a complaint against Julie, claiming she abandoned her child with him.

DE LA CRUZ: No, that`s a lie. Right there, that`s a lie.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Tell us what your side is, George.

DE LA CRUZ: Like I said, we figured out that Julie hasn`t been talking to no one, so we acted up, right? So my mom called the police to just make a report because I was having a lot of problems with Julie saying that she wanted to put me in police supervision because of [daughter L]. There`s times that I come late to give it to her because there`s certain times I have to give to her, and there`s times that I`m going to be there and Julie will be mad.

So like I said, I wanted to be ok with the police saying you know what, Julie left me here for the weekend and she said it was ok. I don`t want no problems with the police. I don`t want to, like I say, take away my daughter. And like I said, we never told her -- I was just trying to cover my end to be ok with the police.

I have seen on the clip of Dr. Phil were G says something to the effect of I "knew" then says "know" correcting himself. Interesting. At first I didn't think he was involved..now not so sure.

I remember that now thank you so much Cloudajo. I'm going on Mom's word. Although Aunt is rightly vehement in her interviews, Mom did have to correct her on a few things during the show they were both on.
