TX - Juliet & Cavanaugh Ramirez, die in hot car, Weatherford, 26 May 2017 *Arrest*

  • #241
Im tired of hearing about hot car deaths. I bet parents make sure they have their phones before they exit the car.
Maybe everyone should tie a ribbon on the inside door handle. A reminder that a kid is in the backseat.

My daughter who is 30 years old.... I didn't need any reminders that she was with me.... WTH??? Who needs to be reminded they have a child? Really?

if we even believe this latest version of her story ...

I doubt she's telling the truth.

It's believable to me. Selfish, immature mother, having a tantrum about her 2 year old not obeying her...sounds about right. She didn't care what happened to them as long as they weren't bothering her.

No.... I never needed to be reminded that i HAD A CHILD.....
There have been some legitimate cases. I remember one case here a while ago where a young mum working very long hours as a doctor in a hospital, had to alter her child care schedule one day and being busy, tired, and stressed left her baby in the car forgetting she had to do day care drop off and the baby sadly died. She's not the only case like that, and it's why alterations in routine are the main risk factor for this happening.

Some suspect its also because babies' carseats are rear-facing for much longer now than they used to be, so even checking the rear-view won't remind you the baby is there. Its why the recommendation now is to keep your bag in the back with the baby so you have to look in the back.

Oy, I just starting reading this and I believe mums story to be a great big steaming pile of CRAP! JMO

I had to go back and read my first post from the 5th of June.
Needless to say, mum will not be getting mum of the year award, ever.
Too bad her sweet babies had to pay for their mums misdeeds.

Ugh her mugshot....she looks SO defiant and not a bit sad. I see no grief at all... I think this was maybe actually planned. She just looks pissed to me.

I didn't believe the original story and I don't think I believe this one either. I have questions about the keys and her phone.

I think she was using the car as a babysitter and this wasn't the first time.

I can't understand why she is just being charged with two felony charges of causing serious injury to a child.

Possibly the charges were selected because there is enough evidence for conviction? DA/Prosecutor doesn't want her to walk away for any reason?

Life without. A Texas judge or jury could go with the death penalty but it is less expensive and less attention for her if it's life without. Just the kind of life she deserves.

I never for one second believed a single word in her story. Anyone who has kids knows that her version of events would be pretty far fetched for a 2 year old to pull off, but to add to that series of events a one year old as well - just not even the least bit possible. I personally hope she gets life without so she not only can't ever have more children (which she clearly never deserved to have children or the responsibility of caring for them to begin with), but also so she can spend the rest of her life thinking about what she did to the two children she did have just so she could party with her friends. Plus, lets just say for her offense she's going to have a hard time making friends in a women's prison.

There are far too many good, decent people in the world who can't have children for there to also be people who can have children who only endanger those children - give those children to someone who will actually care more about the safety of their child than they do about their own safety . . . or their ability to party all night.
