Monday, December 4th:
*Trial set to begin (@ 9am CT) - TX - JeB (6) & JesB (9), abducted by Jame Burns their paternal grandmother in 2009 Black Ford Escape SUV, McKinney on Jan. 19, 2023. An Amber Alert issued are believed “to be in grave or immediate danger". The reason LE believe the girls to be in danger is due to her earlier meth-related arrest. Girls were found Jan. 22, 2023 & are safe. *Justin Lee Burns (34) “father” arrested & charged (1/21/23) & indicted (4/4/23) with 2 felony counts of kidnapping. Bond $50K. Failed to appear (5/26/23) bond forfeited & changed (5/26/23) to $100K & issued arrest of Burns. Rearrested 7/7/23. Bond forfeited (5/26/23).
Trial set to begin on 12/4/23.

9/8/23 Update: Announcement hearing was cancelled. Next plea at jail hearing on 9/15/23 @ 1:30pm, plea or set for trial. 9/15/23 Update: Plea hearing was cancelled. Next pretrial hearing on 11/15/23 @ 8:30am & trial is not set to begin on 12/4/23 @ 9am.
11/3/23 update: State's Motion to list witness. State's witness list & Notice of Intent to use expert witnesses. State's Notice of Rule 404(b) & art. 37.07. State's request for expert witness information.
11/17/23 Update: Motion to withdraw. Motion for withdrawal of attorney of record & request for Court-appointed attorney. Next jury trial to begin on 12/4/23 @ 9am with Judge Benjamin N. Smith presiding.
*Jame Lynn Burns aka Jame Lynn Roth & Jani L Roth (60/now 61) – 7/26/23 Plead guilty & sentenced to 5 years & credit 186 days served.

No. He's getting a new attorney, and another Announcement Hearing is scheduled for January. Here we go again...:rolleyes:
