Ah heck, sorry Travelingbug, I just woke up and didn't see you posted this already! My eyes are still fuzzy.

Coffee time!

:blowkiss: No worries! I do it too! (Only I'm usually doing it for the opposite reason - when it's like 5 am and I just should have gone to bed by that point because my eyes are long past fuzzy! :D)

Accomplice? Carlos?
Nice try, buddy. :jail:
En realidad-maybe there is a 'Carlos'? I tend to believe that. If I'm wrong I'm wrong.

Washington said relatives at the scene were screaming at Sanches to tell police what happened to the child.

"He was like, 'I don't know; I was asleep,'" Washington said. "And I said, 'That's a lie

<snip>

Washington said Katherine and her cousin were standing in front of the apartment where police later found her body... "When I walked down this way and they were behind me, he kept telling her 'Come on, come on,'" Washington said.

Wow - she's going to be a KEY witness for the prosecution it sounds like!

She's the one who saw them outside the vacant apartment, heard him urging her to go with him, AND she overheard him lying to the family about being asleep!

The fact that it almost sounds like she was resisting going with him makes me wonder if Katherine felt like something wasn't right, even as young as she was. :(

Authorities were first called to the Sontera Palms complex in the 9500 block of Royal Lane by the victim's aunt, who told police she had last seen the young girl playing with her siblings at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

There seem to be a lot of relatives around (or at least close enough that they all gathered there quickly once she was reported missing) but I have to wonder if the aunt who reported her missing is going to wind up being the mom of the cousin who killed her.

Exactly -- except it took you about 20 words to explain it, and it took me about 80! Ummppfff. Brevity is not in me!!

And possibility of parole is just that: "possibility." And I know Texas is tuff.

Love that! I think I need to make that my signature on here. LOL.

Admittedly, I do both. And on that note, I should go to bed. But I probably won't, hehe. :giggle:

Accomplice? Carlos?
Nice try, buddy. :jail:

Finding out he (cousin) hasn't been here long AND that she apparently was babysat by someone in the complex, part of me wouldn't be shocked if there may actually be truth in there at least being someone else involved.

I admit to being surprised that the cousin killed her.

I guess I was thinking older cousin more like tween type age (since at least initially I hadn't seen age or gender on the cousin) so not necessarily someone likely to wind up being the one who killed her.

I was really thinking it would end up being a teen boy in the complex who either had his eye on her with the babysitter or maybe being someone who was well acquainted with the babysitter.

I guess it's not quite clear now if the cousin WAS the babysitter referenced to live in the complex, but I guess either way I still could see someone else being involved (or maybe the 'brains' behind it, at least) who thought the cousin could help get access to Katherine easier perhaps.

Maybe?

Actually, now that I just wrote that - about if the cousin actually is the baby sitter referenced - and also knowing that Katherine apparently seemed to demonstrate some resistance and the cousin urging her along, I wonder if that vacant apartment had been somewhere he (or they - if he didn't act alone) had taken her before and thus her seeming to not want to go?

And whether something had 'gone wrong' (whether it'd happened before or not) and perhaps then killed her in response to it?

Sort of like some theorized to have possibly been the case with Jenisa also.

I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't protect his own little cousin though. Unless, he didn't know 'Carlos' actual intentions? But then, why wouldn't he fess up right away? He LIED.

I can't remember where I read it, but there is an article that states the cousin was not also the babysitter. I will try to find it :) ...

The alleged killer cousin was not the babysitter. There is an uncle who lives in the complex who was babysitting Kathrine and her siblings. The alleged killer cousin is not the son of this uncle. They live in different apts. I don't know if the aunt who called 911 is wife of babysitting uncle or mom of alleged killer cousin. Maybe neither.

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2014/09/01/witness-led-police-to-relative-suspected-of-killing-5-year-old/

"Police did say that while Sanches-Zenteno was with familyfor all respective at the apartment complex, he was not babysitting the little girl."
That doesn't make sense-all previous reports said he was accompanying his nieces and nephews for all respective parents. Victim's parents were said to be at work. I hope this is not the start of stupid meaningless alibis and cover-ups.

Yep, I think there was a 'Carlos' -- in this kid's mind. Carlos is probably his evil side, that comes out at times to do very bad things. jmo

  • #117
Well IF there is a Carlos, then Sanches didn't just meet him for the first time in the minutes before this child died. He would know where he lives or how to find him. Also Sanches may not know how forensics work. That probably never entered his mind.

How sickening....there is so much I want to say, but doesn't matter. A sweet, innocent, tiny little girl is dead. Now, all attention will be on her alleged killer. And, as a citizen of the state of Texas, I am obligated to pay for his legal fees, housing, food, etc. for the rest of his life. If he's convicted.

We would be paying for all of that anyway Amster. Illegal immigrants swarming freely across our border are eligible for free education, welfare, food stamps, college scholarships, medical care and more. In prison or out, you and I are financially supporting this child killer who, according to the law, should not even be here.

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/26416332/five-year-old-found-dead-in-dallas-vacant-apartment

"Police do not yet know the motive for the murder, but said they are confident Sanches-Zenteno is responsible.
He is an illegal alien who has been in the country for about six months."

No wonder his mug shot looked like it is-he is cold, evil.......what kind of a monster does this-someone who is used to killing. A killing machine who needs further kicks.

5 years old she was.

FIVE years old.
Well said! I had a shiver run up my spine when his image appeared on the screen. I wonder if he came to live in Texas because of trouble he caused in Mexico.

Fly high with the angels sweet Kathrine.

So sad for the family and the community.
