Right??? I liked that the judge replied to her request with -why was he living with his girlfriend then?? Nice try, but NO.

I just saw this update today regarding Jordin Roache's court appearance today, he is remaining in custody. His mother was there and asked for the Judge to release him to her custody....

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this information!!!!! I had been so worried all day because the only thing I had seen about the hearing was one brief blurb on CBS11 yesterday. There was not one peep from any other MSM source & I was fearful that they were reporting erroneous information & that this was going to become one of those stalling, stalling, situations. I even called the Juvenile Services this morning & inquired about the status of the hearing. They were very polite but offered no information, which was not surprising. Thank God that the judge had common sense & used his head!! IMO, jail is exactly where this 16 year old belongs. I'm sorry for his mother but there are some consequences that even a mother cannot take care of. Actually, I'm sorry for both families of victim & accused. The coming days & months will have more pain than any family should have to endure. It is only natural that parents love their children no matter what that child has done. Trials expose all the good, bad & ugly, especially the ugly!

Too bad he isn't 17 because in TX a 17 year old is automatically treated as an adult. And we still don't know what the actual motive was. Presumably pot transactions happen regularly and most people don't end up getting killed during those transactions.

 • #885
I am moderately hopeful. Nothing is ever for sure until it happens. At this particular time it appears that the judge has a brain in his head rather than a bleeding heart. We shall see.

i think this jordin was a ticking time bomb

he could have made a deal with kaytlynn to bedazzle his running shoes for 300.00 and still would have attacked her.

she looks younger than 14, such a tomboy! poor sweetie.

how do you know that? did more news come out today? (ETA: I'm reading backwards)

I don't get the impression that anyone here at WS is blaming her family.

It's obvious that she was into drugs before she met up with the killer[/B].

She could very well have been influenced by her peers -- that's the usual avenue for kids who make unfortunate choices in life.

There are no winners here !!

No one is perfect... and my utmost condolences to her family - no matter what they do or did in their life.

every city needs that!

Respectfully, the apartment complex IS in a middle to upscale (but not mega rich) neighborhood. I know because I live in Bedford & have for years. I guess the easiest way to explain the situation is that the complex & surrounding area looks as innocent & wholesome as Kaytlynn looked. Matter of fact, I posted just a few days ago that if I were in the market for illegal drugs there would be lots & lots of places I would go before even thinking of looking there. I suppose that the looks of a teenager & a particular area of town can be very deceiving. I think that is something that most of us, me included, need to reconsider when making judgments about people or places.

One other thing that I want to say about the city of Bedford. Not only do we have a good police presence. We also have Neighborhood Patrol vehicles out on the street. These vehicles look just like a Police Vehicle except for the signage but they are manned by civilians who alert the police if problems arise. I actually give the city an A+ in making every effort to keep us safe.

She was going to the killers' apt. (or where he was staying) to collect the 300. $ she was promised for converting MJ into 'dabs'.

These are not the actions of a novice.
Earlier posts on this thread have explained what she was doing.

Her killer presumably didn't want to pay up. although there could be other motives as well.

This does not negate the fact that she died a terrible death ... and this case should be a cautionary tale to other young people wanting to do this for an easy way to make money , or just for thrills.

Senseless tragedy.
My .02 is that her murderer could be another Philip Chism. Imagine if he hadn't been caught. :(

I'm more than a bit concerned that this case is not getting the news coverage that it deserves. So far as I've been able to determine, the Fort Worth Star Telegram is the only news source reporting on the hearing today & it's result. I think that's too bad! I hope all the school age kids have heard, think about, discuss & reconsider criminal options that may be readily available to them. This could be an opportunity & alert for many of them to reconsider the perils of drug use & dealing. Perhaps I am just a dreamer. I don't know!

FYI - that complex is actually on the Trinity side and he (suspect) went to Trinity with my kids... I saw someone on a SM site saying he went to THS so I ran the addresses in the school locator and confirmed its a Trinity area. My daughter had several classes with him last year and said she never would have guessed!

Forest Ridge is the boundary for the high schools. East side is Trinity. West side is Bell. The complex abuts the east side of Forest Ridge and is in the Trinity district. I live down the street and raised my kids here.

I disagree. She very well could have been a novice. Being inexperienced or naive could have led to a dicey situation, especially if she promised something she could not deliver.

A witness told police that Kaytlynn went to the dog park that day to take part in a marijuana exchange with the suspect and his brother, according to the affidavit. She was going to make marijuana “dabs” — or cannabis concentrates — and sell it back to the suspect, the affidavit says.

The witness said he followed Kaytlynn because he was concerned for her safety. The witness later told Bedford police that the suspect had been aggressive and disrespectful to females, the affidavit states.

The witness saw Kaytlynn meet with the suspect, but she ran away because she saw the witness watching them, according to the warrant. The witness and Kaytlynn returned to Kaytlynn’s home, but Kaytlynn returned to the dog park about an hour later “to get the money,” according to the warrant.

The witness, who had tied up Kaytlynn’s dog at the dog park, went to play basketball and never saw her again, according to the warrant.

So there is another reference to the 'suspect and his brother.' I thought that Source 1 was his brother or stepbrother, half brother. But there is a mention of the suspect's brother being in on the deal. So where was he during this violence?

On pg 4 of the arrest affidavit it says that Source 1 tells the detective that KC was supposed to meet the suspect and another unknown person described by xxxxx as his brother. I too find that weird- who/where is this brother? Later in the interview, Source 1 confirms this unknown person was there at the first meeting when KC "ran away" from them.

Mother wanted him released into her custody? He wasn't even living with mother when this happened, why exactly does she think he should be released into her custody?

Either she doesn't believe in consequences (we've been down that road here), or she thinks he didn't do it?

The story is sketchy. Did she actually get marijuana at the first meeting and turned it into $300 worth of dabs in 1 hour? So she was going to deliver the dabs and get paid for that work? Unlikely. Or did he owe her money from a previous deal? Also note that it's possible the story is sketchy because perhaps the Source was high at the time of these events and memory cannot serve him very well...

I guess we can agree to disagree. :)

Of course we cannot trust anything her killer will say ... and only he and she knew the truth.

Hope they lock him up for the rest of his life. The only way he should leave prison is in a pine box.
And I do not care if he claims to have had a life of disadvantage, neglect , or whatever.
So have other people -- and they haven't murdered anyone.

I'm guessing ahead what he'll try to spin in his defense.
Or possibly he'll try the mental illness angle , or that he 'blacked out'.
Except his actions that day showed premeditation; imo. As in -- this was not a spur of the moment attack. :(
If he was visiting/living with the gf -- he knew where they kept their hammer.
How many people are staying at a friend's and ask where the tools are kept ?

There was a previous article in msm that indicated an unusual amount of activity on the cellphone-- not sure if it was referring to the perp's or KC's ?
The phones/texts will be a clue if everything hasn't been erased.
