First, you'll have to forgive me bec. I am not familiar w/ Deanna's case. I will take the time to read up on her though! I am truly sorry for how "close to home" this similar situation hits for you. And I am truly sorry that Deanna's case is unresolved and "cold, cold, cold" as you put it.

Please understand...I am NOT saying that what happens behind closed doors of a household should go unnoticed, unchecked, and not talked about. Too, too many times kids suffer because there is no communication and they feel threatened or that there is no one to turn to. I get that and understand it. All I was saying was that the manner in which the topix board was being handled seemed callous to me, but that is just my opinion and one of the problems with these types of communication forums. There is no facial expression, no tone of voice...

I think you and richandfamous make good and valid points in that it DID get ppl. talking (posting) and perhaps bringing forth pertinent info. I see your points as well...thank you for considering mine.

Sloane, you are right. It was a very graphic post, and I was not thinking about that when I went on the defensive. I would just really like to see Vanessa found. I think she has friends that really do care, and I hope we can get them all talking before they forget the small details that may be very important. I'm sorry if I was a bit harsh.

Sloane, I agree anonminity is important as long as she has not gone missing and possibly the victim of foul play. Whoever supplied the information for NCMEC more than insinuates that Vanessa is a runaway and is with "Nick" in Meadville PA. They forgot to mention all the other circumstances of duress that preceeded her possible demise! I don't blame Nick for coming back at them at all. It seems to me that the EPD has not investigated this case because all of these ppl have not been contacted by them.
So, I am sorry that Vanessa's life has been exposed..(I hope that's the worst of what has happened to her)....but I am not sorry that a pervert is exposed. He has lost that right when he molested a 12yr old girl. And like I have said before, sometimes the intense light of media is what it takes to get LE active on the case. JMO

So does Vanessa have a thread here at WS? I did a few searches and didn't find one. Has it been proven that this UID Jane Doe, is not Vanessa? Does any one know for sure? There was talk that maybe this Kilgore, TX teen wasn't her. (On both boards) Has LE confirmed to anyone either way? Maybe Vanessa should have her own thread, so if someone was doing a google on her, she would be easier to find. The focus seems to taken away from who this thread was actually started for.

Hi Interestedwoman, this thread was started for the UID found in Kilgore Texas. Then we matched the UID with Vanessa and we are still waiting to hear from LE. I don't think Vanessa has a thread of her own here. The thread at topix was started to find if anyone knew Vanessa.

Right, I do understand that. Has LE actually even started a DNA test? Has anyone followed up on it? That's my point. Does Vanessa even have a DNA sample on file with CODIS? It appears that several people have been in contact with LE, but have they ever actually said the test are underway.?

Well, I am the one that sent all the proper agencies the information. Several Times! (NCMEC, EPD, Kilgore authorities Greene County, Texas DPS missing) and Karla Mullenax at WJET TV in Erie PA.
I have NOT heard anything from any of the agencies however, I did get an email from Karla Mullenax and she says the cops won't tell her anything either.

eta; texas dps site: Positive identification of this deceased person can only be made through DNA or dental comparison.

Nothing about dna or dentals is mentioned concerning Vanessa.

Happy Mother's Day to all (moms, stepmoms, grandmoms, aunts, fostermoms, dog moms, cat moms, horse moms, all of you!):angel:

Yes, LE has been working on the Princess Lavender / Vanessa Schultz connection since the day they received it as a tip. (NICE JOB, you guys!)Yes, they have tests underway. Yes, they have been in touch with people involved in the investigation (esp. Erie PD). I haven't posted about it bec. it is not a final forensic result they are ready to make public, but I can tell you that it is almost certainly NOT VANESSA. The breifest of looks through comparing the dentals tells that to be the case, BUT they have sent both ladies' dentals for official forensic analysis, to be absolutely sure.

Sooo...if you would like to keep searching for Vanessa, maybe we should put her in a separate thread. And Please, please, please keep searching for P. Lav's match! I'm glad she is not Vanessa, but she is SOMEONE, and she needs to be identified!

Not at all, MissieMt... you are allowed to say what you want and what you feel...everyone is! That is what type of forum this is, and it seems that everyone has an understanding of that here, and hopefully a respect for it. I am not confrontational, and others' opinions do not aggravate me...I feel that I can learn from them. We all come from different backgrounds with varying types of expertise, experiences, and info., which is why we all have different things to offer.

It is easy for onlookers (or readers) to assume that LE "isn't doing anything," or HASN't done anything, but if they're not behind the scenes, how do they really know? The only know what has been made public. Admittedly that can be very little at times, and VERY FRUSTRATING!!:banghead:
There is a common saying going around, or even posted in offices that reads, "They only remember what we [LE] don't do." Which is a good reminder for them to put themselves in the general public's shoes...to see things from our points of view.

Your right Sloane, that's why we are here. And I'm grateful for every one here, it's a bit off topic, but I've been able to accomplish so much stuff since I started Deanna's thread just over a month ago (if I do say so myself). It's absolutely amazing in my opinion, and I know without the guidance of people here I wouldn't have known what to do.
