(reported missing Jan. 4, 2019, San Antonio; found Jan. 10, 2019 found in a field wrapped in a blanket inside of a black backpack) – for *Angie Torres (45/now 46) (Davila’s cousin) arrested & charged (1/6/19) for aggravated robbery, indicted (1/11/19) & arraigned (4/5/19) with 3rd degree tampering with evidence. Plead not guilty. $300K bond, reduced (6/11/19) to $125K. Charged (1/7/19) with assault-bodily injury.

for *Beatrice Sampayo Davila (65/now 66) arrested & charged (1/10/19) & arraigned (4/5/19) with 3rd degree tampering with evidence. Plead not guilty. $250K bond reduced (2/8/19) to $50K. Released (2/10/19) with ankle monitor.

8/12/19 Update: Trial has been postponed. Status hearing (Set trial date) on 10/21/19.
10/21/19 Update: Trial was supposed to start today, but the Judge recalled the trial for both. Will wait until Davila’s trial is done. Bond was amended for Sampayo, but no details as to what.
10/29/19 Update: House arrest conditions changed this week (10/29/19). According to court documents, she will now be able to travel between her home and Northeast Baptist Hospital for treatment of an ongoing medical condition. 4/7/20 Update: Order appointing investigator; ex parte motion. Set 7/20/20 for Set trial date hearing. 7/20/20 Update: Hearing was rescheduled to 10/5/20.
*Christopher Davila (34/now 35) – Set Trial Date hearing on 7/13/20. Wants to make a plea deal with State. No update as of 10/5/20.

Christopher Davila, accused of injury to a child in the death of baby King Jay Davila on Jan. 3, 2019, also is awaiting trial. According to reports, Davila initially told police King was in the back seat of his car when it was stolen from a gas station. Days later, he led authorities to the child’s body, buried in a backpack in a Northeast Side field.
Davila’s mother, Beatrice Sampayo, and cousin Angie Torres face tampering with evidence charges in the case. Sampayo is out on bail, and Torres, like Davila, is being held in Bexar County Jail. The trial date for all three, Dec. 7, has not been reset, according to online court records.

Indicted (4/3/19) with possession of a controlled substance & being a felon in possession of a firearm. Plead not guilty. $1.25M Bond.
Tried to stage a fake kidnapping. Police Chief William McManus said Davila was pressured by the evidence against him & ultimately confessed to burying his son in an open field. Investigators later found the burial site near Davila's Northeast Side home & recovered the baby's body on 1/10/19.
Trial was set to begin on 10/22/19 had been continued to 12/7/20, which has been cancelled due to COVID.
