Shelton: He had the gun racked, stopped at the end of the alley to block his victims from leaving, did the shooting in the night of the football game because there would be more traffic, listened to a scanner app on the phone to track police, checked social media.

Falls is resistant to most of that and tries to elaborate to explain how delusions are manifested.

There are objections from Public Defender James Rasmussen during Shelton’s cross examination of Falls. 30th District Bob Brotherton sustains a couple.

Bianka Landavazo, Lauren Landavazo’s mother, wipes tears away after Shelton notes that Lott knew he had killed Lauren because he saw a “tuft of her hair going up in the air” as the DA seeks to make a point.

Shelton: After hearing more evidence & considering another doctor’s report, would you change your evaluation of Lott’s sanity at the time of the crime? Falls: No. Falls found that Lott was insane at the time of shooting. Shelton passes the witness back to Rasmussen.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 1h1 hour ago
Rasmussen: Tell the jury about Lott’s beliefs that showed he was insane.

Falls: Lott said God had sent Lauren to earth as an angel, and she couldn’t die.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 1h1 hour ago
Falls turns to speak directly to the jury to say that Lott’s delusional beliefs cancelled out & undermined his knowledge of wrongdoing.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 1h1 hour ago
Falls: During a jailhouse call with his mother, Lott wanted to know why he was in jail. His mother told him it was because he killed “that little girl.” Lott trusted his mother when she challenged his delusions and could see things more his way.

Rasmussen: How do you square the rational things Lott did regarding the shooting? Falls: As I said before, people with psychotic delusions can appear rational.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 1h1 hour ago
Jury appears to be listening closely to Falls’ explanations of how rational acts and psychotic delusions can exist side by side in Lott’s mind.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 1h1 hour ago
Falls: Killing Lauren Landavazo wasn’t wrong in Lott’s mind because he thought he was saving children who were being tortured & sacrificed.

Killingsworth estimated maybe one or 2 murders of juveniles in last 5 years investigated by Wichita Falls police.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 32m32 minutes ago
Killingsworth said he heard about the shooting & went to see what was going on. Misinformation is an issue w/early reports, he said.

On scene, the supervisor decided that Killingsworth would work w/juvenile detective Walt Vermillion on the shooting as Killingsworth had more experience, he testified.

Lott says he hasn’t shot a gun in about a year, and he was in Olney at the time of the shooting.

Trish Choate‏ @Trishapedia 3m3 minutes ago
A woman named Casey Jones Lawanna (not sure of spelling) is the only one who can confirm he was in Olney at the time of the shooting.

Killingsworth: “In the area where you were seen coming from today is where the shooting took place.” Police have a description matching his vehicle & him.
