A 49-year-old Shepherd man, who is believed to have walked away from his home on Sept. 19, is still missing, according to authorities.

San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Caper said that Lawrence Quinn reportedly crept out of the window of the Stag Road home he shared with his mother, leaving behind his phone and other personal effects.

"The family says he has disappeared in the past but they are starting to get worried now," Capers said. "His family members say they have been to where he normally camps out in tents with friends and other places in Conroe where he normally hangs out, but no one has seen him."

According to Capers, Quinn is known for "living off the grid" and says that Texas EquuSearch has been in contact with the family and the sheriff's office about a future search using tracking dogs. Quinn is described as a white male, 5' 4" tall, weighing 100 pounds, with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. He was wearing a blue plaid, button-down shirt, tan khaki shorts and no shoes.

Anyone with information about Quinn's disappearance is asked to call the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office at 936-653-4367.

Details of Disappearance
Quinn was last seen in Shepherd, Texas on September 19, 2017. He shared a home with his mother on Stag Road. He apparently left via the window, leaving all his personal belongings behind, and has never been heard from again.

His family stated he had dropped out of sight in the past, living "off the grid" with friends in tents in the Conroe, Texas area, but they were unable to find him in any of his usual hangouts after his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

There's a lot of terrain in Texas I wouldn't want to walk on barefoot any time of year, and it's still really hot in September. The no shoes, beats me. Is there an element of mental illness or disability? I ask also because a 49 year-old sneaking out of his Mom's house to visit friends? Why not simply leave a note, say I'll be back this day and time, and walk out the front door?
