FBI joins hunt for missing Crosbyton toddler
-

FBI spokeswoman Katherine Chaumont said, "We're working to interview individuals that are connected with little Leah, and we're also following up on the many tips and leads that have come in from the public. They've come in from all over the state. They've come in not only describing the red Ford Focus, but people have been calling in with tag numbers, the license plate numbers, which have been really helpful."

ok, I get that the boyfriend's name is reported to be Miguel... but WHY would anyone use their real name if they were going to do that? IF this really happened, I've assumed from the start that Miguel was not a real name.

Who was taking care of the girl? Not everyone who takes a child in is good, and I say that as a prior foster kid. I would hope their home is checked as a possible crime scene just as a precautionary measure. Not an accusation, just hoping that is SOP.

In one of the FB posts I read something about the dad wanting her back? Who is the dad?

Did the family member who had Leah call any of Leah's family when the man posing as CPS took her? Has the family friend spoken out on Leah's disappearance? Also, if you go over the Mexican border legally, do they check the identity of the child with you, lie a birth certificate, to make sure that is your kid or you have permission to cross the border with them?

I don't think there is any checking of children (or adults for that matter) unless there was an alert sent out. IMO I doubt they would of looked when and if they crossed the border as she has been missing since the 3rd and the amber alert didn't go out until this week.

IIRC, the dad has already been spoken with by LE (I think the first page) and he isn't a suspect??? (Or all of these cases are just molding together and I can't keep them straight. ) lol

Oh no. This news breaks my heart. I was so hoping that somehow this baby would be alive.

All we can hope now is that the baby killer left sufficient evidence to catch them quickly and permanently . Please God let them have left a dozen bits of evidence.

So they found the body behind the caretakers house? The one that eventually told police that she was taken by a social worker? Miguel just happens to be the name of the hubs/BF of Tina.

Anyone think the caretaker made up the story about the CPS worker and used Miguel to make it seem like it was the father who came to get her.

What I don't get is when the police first searched the area of that house/residence why wouldn't they find the body then? Did they not search the house/area when they first found out she was missing or was the body brought back to frame the caretaker.

It really seems like this was a plan to frame someone.
