Found Safe TX - Lee Arms, 44, Bexar County, 5 Feb 2017

I truly hate to even suggest this, but I do think this is something that needs to be considered, so ...:

If Lee was hit by a car while on the side of the road, how far could he have been thrown?

His missing poster says, "His silver Ford Fusion was found abandoned near Loop 1604 and Schuwirth Road in Bexar County, TX," so I looked at the area on Google Earth (link below), and while it looks pretty flat overall, I do see some trees. Could he be stuck in one of them? Or are there any structures nearby along the road, on top of which he could have ended up? Not a likely scenario, but after reading a few articles on people being hit by a vehicle traveling at a high speed and what could happen afterwards (links below; some pretty disturbing :(), I thought I would bring it up, just in case ...:

ETA: This may also explain the lack of blood on the scene.

I realize it's not pleasant to discuss, but I also looked at the area via Google Earth and noticed the same thing. The scenario you mention is not impossible and searchers generally don't have the instinct to look up, especially into trees, but in this case they should! I'm also really hoping helicopters are being utilized in the search!

Another possibility that would explain no blood at the scene would be if he was hit and became lodged in the windshield or even passengers seat. I was surprised at how often this happens. I've attached a few examples below.

"The force of the collision caused the victim to go through the windshield of the vehicle and become lodged in the front passenger seat," read the police report.

FORT WORTH, Texas – A nurse's aide hit a homeless man with her car, drove home with him stuck headfirst in her broken windshield and ignored his cries for help as he bled to death in her garage over the next two or three days, police say.

Bumping for Lee......

Anybody else notice the handgun range within a mile of where his truck was parked ? People running up and down those roads are likely armed.

The intersection where his truck was found is one of the main places you could turn in order to access the shooting range, turning left on Schuwirth road.

I think it's safe to say this is a sparsely populated area, but there may still be a pretty decent amount of traffic on TX-1604.

Road rage, unless this guy simply walked off into the bushes and killed himself.

Are you talking about LondStar Handgun (and Shooting Range)? Lee went missing on a Sunday, and according to their website, they are closed on Sundays (http://lonestarhandgun.com/shooting-range).

That is not to say folks in the area are not likely to be armed, and there might have been someone driving by who saw something.

One question I have now is whether Lee carried or had a gun in his car, and if so, has it been found, and if so where?

According to the Finding Lee Arms FB page, he is still missing as of this morning. Thinking of Lee, his wife and three children ...: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=228441397627716&id=224594298012426

I suppose it's possible, but what would be the motive for doing that? His cell phone and wallet were found in his car which usually indicates robbery was not a motive.

New article with some new information. Certain information is BBM!

http://www.expressnews.com/news/loc...lls-City-man-missing-since-Feb-5-10926166.php

"The scene left family perplexed because the engine was still on. His wallet and other belongings were found inside.

A box of some kind appears to have left an indentation on the front of the car, family said. An investigator told family that Arms may have pulled over to remove whatever struck the front of his car.

There was no blood or debris at the scene, Arms’ family said. The car was not hit, but the driver’s side mirror was folded forward.

One of his boots, a flashlight and his baseball cap were found near the car, while the other boot was discovered 75 yards away.

A development came from his hometown Thursday when the owner of a gas station released photos taken via surveillance footage. The images show Arms walking inside the store wearing a camouflage t-shirt and a baseball cap hours before his disappearance.

His nephew Derek Moy said Arms walked out with chewing tobacco, gum and a Mountain Dew. All of the items were still in his car when it was discovered."

I did think of this possibility, too, but apparently, "Arms's cell phone and wallet were still inside," so it does not appear that random robbery would have been a motive.

I do find it interesting that no description of the box has been released either by LE or the family. If LE is suspecting foul play or at least haven't excluded it as a possibility, then that would probably be a piece of information they would want to keep close to their vests.

One of his boots being found 50 feet in front of his car does lead me to believe, unfortunately, that Lee was hit by another vehicle (e.g., being thrown a significant distance after being struck, getting stuck in the windshield of the other vehicle, wandering off due to a head injury, etc.). While it has been reported no blood was present in the immediate vicinity of his car, I hope there was other evidence (e.g., piece of windshield, paint chip, etc.) found.

Whatever happened to Lee was very soon after he hung up the phone with his Dad. Didn't his Dad say..."Lee said he was hanging up now because he was about to get on I-10? " The vehice was found close to I-10 so I would assume something happened within a few short minutes of that phone call.

This has happened to me. I hit a huge wet box, large appliance size it was flat but scary when it happened and it stuck to the front of the car as I continued to drive. I has no idea until someone passing by me pointed to my front...so I pulled over and saw and removed. Never thought how dangerous it could be...I hope someone comes forward soon with information for his family.

It sounds like he was hit by another car, he stopped to see about the box and while doing so, was struck
But then, what happened?
One boot was a long way from his car

Cardboard boxes don't normally dent the bumpers on cars if they are empty. That means either there was something pretty heavy in the box......or......it was more of a crate, made from wood or plastic.

The wording is odd, because it sounds as if they didn't find the box at the scene................so how do they know it was a box at all ?

I'm tellin' ya'......something fell out of the back of someone's vehicle and there was an altercation on the side of the road. His mirror being folded forward is even more indication that a struggle took place. He was being dragged away from his car and he was grabbing hold of things to try and stop it. All of this would have been happening right about dark-thirty, so visibility would have been lousy for anybody living nearby. I still think there was at least one or two cars that may have driven by when all of this was going down. The motorists may not even realize what they were witnessing, just a few guys pulled over on the side of the highway talking (yelling). I think once the traffic cleared in both directions for a good distance is when the snatch-and-grab was done. He was fighting a lot to get loose though, you can tell by the way his belongings were spread out over a distance.

What could fall out of the back of a pickup or the end of a trailer, be hit by the car behind, and outrage the owner so much that he committed an abduction and murder ? The box was either accidentally run over, or it was deliberately thrown at Lee's car as he followed behind them. Ever hear of insurance ? Why all the rage ?

I can see this happening just the way you wrote it.
I had thought the bent mirror was someone trying to get Lee angry or angrier...enough to get him to come out of the vehicle. (Thinking he was possibly still in his vehicle or had gotten back in after retrieving the item and placing/taken custody of it in his vehicle). Moo

Superbowl Sunday so prob less traffic speeding by.
