Stepped away 4 minutes ago to finish dinner. Anything new besides the Chief saying they’re following up on some leads? Can’t watch live. Is the PC over?

Here’s what we know:
• Officials are following a lead.
• A team from DC flew in to help search.
• @Chief_McManus says the family is aware of this.
• Search & Rescue SATX says this doesn’t have to do with their search today.

That's a poor community, and there is a very big reward related to Lina's case. I think it has motivated cooperation and a solid lead. Time will tell.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I think this is the location they are searching. The creek runs right through it.

Had a phone call, but wanted to ask:
What is that big Scene Support bus type vehicle? Has that been present at other search sites?

Perhaps bus used to transport volunteer ground search crews. Reports are the teams started early AM at Medical Center, Church, and roadway all within 2 miles of the apartment complex.

ETA: link update

1/4/22

Another search is underway Tuesday morning in the Medical Center area. It is a smaller turnout than we’ve seen in the past, which isn’t surprising since were no longer in a winter break.

Kids are back at school people are back to work but still we are seeing people show up for the first time looking to volunteer, looking to help.

The search team started at Grace Baptist Church on Bluemel Drive, where about two dozen volunteers are being split into two groups to start looking in different areas in the Medical Center, which have not yet been searched by the San Antonio Police Department.

Once again, they will be looking through wooded areas, apartment complexes, dumpsters, pretty much anywhere and everywhere they can get access to.

Yes, that's where they are
Just realized that’s the same spot you pointed out, @Friday Fan.
You can reach that area no matter which exit you used from Lina’s apartment complex. (Fredericksburg or Bluemel)

They are not volunteers

do we know whether there are volunteer searchers here? I was under the impression it was only police and FBI in this particular area, and there's crime tape.
If there's something serious going on here, I kind of doubt there would be civilians searching.

No volunteers at this site.

San Antonio news journalist, Rebecca Salinas, updated the latest article. Ms. Salinas has been reporting on this case from the beginning

FBI dive team helping San Antonio police in search for missing 3-year-old Lina Khil

"McManus said police are following up on a lead they got from work investigators have been putting in behind the scenes after a flurry of activity the first week she was reported missing."

“We don’t want to leave anything to chance,” McManus said of the investigation during a news conference.

"The chief said the team would be using technology to search underwater to follow up on the lead."

It looks like they are wrapping things up.

what does USERT stand for, on the back of the jacket of the person by that SUV with the bins. ?

Like others have said…. The crime scene tape isn’t put up for just any search, the FBI dive team is there from DC and why call a PC just to say you’re following g up on leads? There’s got to be more to it. I think the Chief had plans to announce something much bigger and for whatever reasons decided not to.
