This is taking an interesting twist, maybe up a blind alley as so many paths have taken us, but quite interesting.
Remember above all that the privacy and dignity of the living must be respected. I know it makes it more difficult sometimes, but.....

So my question is, is it probable for Helen Green to have been as tall as FLEK was as an adult?

Should she be Helen Green, her choosing 'Kennedy' as an alias may be explained by her birthday coinciding with the date of presidential inaugurations (John F. Kennedy in 1961), however, is it plausible that a 30/31-year-old woman applying in person would have been issued an ID (Idaho) stating an age of 18-19 just on the basis of a piece of paper without raising questions?

I know at the age of 30 I could easily pass for 19, thus it is possible. I don't recall Motor Vehicle being the kind of place back then that would scrutinize to that high a level. Thus, even if she looked older than 19 I doubt they would question it

1st post; welcome to WS!

Here are some things I've been chewing on
1988 Helen she would be 27. Could she pass as 18-19? Sure is she had good genes.

As for if she could conceive in 2008 Helen would be age 50 when she had the daughter; 49 when she conceived since the daughter was born in Sept; Lori would have conceived in December. Sure she could. I have a SIL that didn't go into menopause till her 50's.

Helen DOB January 20, 1958 Blake and Lori have a daughter September 15,

Yes it is not impossible to concieve a baby at an advanced age nearing 50 but it is very rare to have a healthy baby born from the conception. that is why many celebraties who have these babies at advanced age use doner eggs. Since the liklihood of Lori conceving and having a healthy baby at that age if she is Helen is very small, unless she used doner eggs it puts a big red flag in the concept of Helen being Lori.

Sorry, but this I have to disagree with. Change of life babies, as they were called when I was growing up......are most generally quite healthy. People just generally hear about the children who were not born healthy. JMO

I am gonna agree with Roselvr on this one.

I have a classmate that had a surprise baby without hormones in her mid to late 40's. I have high school friends on a diff profile that I made 2-3 yrs ago; I'd have to say she was 46

Your question of her using doner eggs is legit. There has been nothing to say that she did, but the question is still very legit. We all know from the newspaper article that she did have problems conceiving and carrying; that fact can't be ignored.
Women having children in their late 40s and into there 50s does increase the risk of health issues to the fetus and mother; it is a medical and statistical fact.
Her possible age and fertility issues need to be considered as clues and less focus on WS friends and family who didn't have issues with conceiving, carrying and delivering healthy babies.

Different topic. If FLEK did somehow turn out to be Helen, I wonder if the Ru- ff family would want to have connection with her family? I wonder if they would become quite protective of their daughter/grandchild. If Helen's family is still quite traumatized, I wonder if FLEK's in-laws would want to share any of those issues or bring their child/grandchild into those types of family issues.
Food for thought.

The statistics for naturally concieved babies after the age of 45 is something like less then 3% success rate. Even with use of fertility drugs at that age the statistics are not a whole lot higher. I was reading up on them last night. This does not mean it is impossible so we should not elimate the Helen/ Lori match, as doner eggs or being one of the 3% is always a possibility. This just means it is a big red flag for the match.

Good point, Sherwood Park. I get the impression that the Ruff's will not want to have anything to do with the family of whoever FLEK turns out to be. They seem private, secretive and protective. Remember FLEK and her husband were separated when she committed suicide. Her husband had moved back in with his parents. When they first discovered her secret, the family's initial reaction was to think she was some kind of spy or secret agent. From the few comments made by the family, it seemed like they had pretty much written her off even before she died.

I don't think the family is actively seeking out her identity. They contacted authorities because they were afraid she was up to something that could harm them, not out of love or any kind of concern for "Lori" or her unknown family.

There is a much higher percentage of abnormalities at that age, but it isn't a given that the baby will be disabled in any way.

I go on a few parenting forums which have very active conception/fertility treatment sections, and loads of posters in their late forties have healthy babies from their own eggs, usually after IVF.

ETA - Do we actually know whether FLEK's daughter has any disabilities? They haven't actually released many details about her really.

My prayers go out to the families. I can't imagine going through something like this.

This is confusing. I'm trying to put it out of my mind but I'm so curious how they know for sure FLEK was not Helen. UNLESS someone knows where Helen is which doesn't make sense if the brother is still asking for help.

There is no way DNA was done that fast. Dentals?

I'm not asking to be invasive but it's hard not to wonder.

There will be no more discussion about families who aren't here. Contacting families and posting about them is not how we roll here. Please do not discuss Helen Green's family again unless you are a verified insider in her case.

Those are the rules here and there's a reason
.

JMO but I doubt FLEK was born before 1965, at most. In the first driver's license photo where she is supposed to be 18, she looks about 18 to 21 to me. If born as early as 1965 she would have been 23 in the photo, and I think that's a stretch.

I dont know we might have to agree to disagree on that one I was born in 65 and by her pics she looks alot older than I do , my close friend is 56 and she even looks younger that the tea party pic, you are probably right but its very possible to lie about 10 years and get away with it

You have a good point, it's just I was thinking it's easier to lie about your age as you get older than when you are younger. For example, I'm 44 but most people think I'm in my late 30s, but at 18-21 I looked pretty much my age. I couldn't have been 23 and passed for 18, I mean. I think as we age it's easier to come off as looking younger, especially if we take good care of our skin and we color our hair. I just couldn't picture FLEK being as old as 28 when she's saying she's 18, although anything is possible. She just has such a fresh youthful look in that first DL photo. But at this point, I would believe anything about this confusing case.

Ha! me too!

I was born in 1959 and always looked younger than my age. I turned 55 yesterday, but people assume I'm about 45. When I was 28, I definitely could have passed for 18. From the pictures of FLEK and how she aged over the years, I do think she could have been about my same age. In her later pictures, she looks even older than me. FWIW, I put her birth year between 1959 and 1969.

...and on that note I work with a girl that is 26 and she could pass for 15 without a doubt!!!
