It does seem similar. I just saw Kathy's case today and I thought the appearance looked like a possibility, and she went missing from Pennsylvania which FLEK had a phone number for in her notes (library, I believe). Might not be her, I just thought I'd bring her name up just in case. There are some sickos that abduct children and "raise" them as their own.

Long time, no see! ;)

Last month my boyfriend took me to visit a very elderly great Aunt of his in a nursing home (she was a doll!)..... But it got me to thinking. She is so isolated from technology and internet. Her day consists of cards games, ice cream deliveries and occassional visitors. A very simple lifestyle. I wonder if there is someone who could recognize FLEK that is living in a nursing home.

What an intriguing thought!

Glad you're back! It's been a while. :cheerful:

The "kins" looks like it was added later. The "K" seems to be capitalised while the "er" isn't.

So at first I thought she might have written "Per", then added "Kins" later. But if you look at the notes page, she randomly uses small caps in her writing where she should be using lowercase instead. In particular she uses capital 'A' randomly (like "Mountain", "Arizona", "Dallas", "Made up").

So what that tells me is that seeing a randomly capitalised "K" in "Perkins" isn't surprising, adding random caps in her handwriting is just the way she wrote (we all have our eccentricities).

So my guess is this: she wrote "Jennifer Perk", with a capital-ish looking 'K', then thought to herself "gee, I'd better disguise that so no-one recognises it if they read it", and so scribbled "INS" after it, maybe because she had written "Ben Perkins" above and figured that was a useful coincidence.

Alternatively, the "I" might actually be a malformed comma, as though she was trying to write "Perk, NS".

So, how could LEK relate to Perk? She can't be Perk's daughter. Maybe Perk was an older sister of LEK? Or maybe a cousin.

Late to the party but this one is driving me crazy. Few thoughts...

1. Is there a way to find out the laws for documentation needed to get the various forms of ID she did in 1988? I tried searching but couldn't really come up with anything. The general consensus is that it was much easier back then but if we knew the actual requirements, it might clear things up.
2. Do we know she was actually in Idaho? Or California? She could have ordered the BC by mail and gotten a fake Idaho ID. Went straight from her old identity and residence to Dallas where she filed the name change.
3. How did she even get to Dallas? If she had a car, she had to have it registered. Kind of risky to go through all of the trouble to disappear then risk using her old identity with her car/drivers license.
4. What were the laws for name changes back then? Dates on the two associated documents are 7/5 and 7/11. It looks like she gave testimony on the 5th as to why she wanted to change it. And the clerk filed the order on the 11th. But wouldn't she have had to file an initial application, then get a court date? Plus I am assuming she would have had to prove some sort of residency.
5. Last thing that is really tripping me up is the 688-7092 library number on the notes page. The most obvious answer is the library in PA. She also writes Mountain Bell is 3 hours less, which would be the case in certain parts of AZ during daylight savings time in Arizona. So that kind of fits.

So many questions and thats just the beginning.

EDIT: I am saw on another site that someone filed a request for all of the documents relating to this case under the FOIA. They should have them in two weeks or so.

Does Arizona have daylight savings? I thought they were the only state without it.. And I don't think law enforcement is obligated under FOIA to give documents while the case is still open....

Random thoughts/calculations....

- The date calculation page goes to 1990.
- What happened in 1990? FLEK applied for her passport in Houston, while reportedly living in Dallas. She was subsequently issued a passport a few days before her supposed date of travel to Germany and London. Was this a supposedly urgent trip? Do we KNOW if she actually travelled or not? Maybe her identity is in the vicinity of Germany?
- The date/age calculations are on the BACK of the notes page.... implying that the notes pre-date her need for calculations. Could 402 months (33y6m) have anything to do with her own age around that time?
- Capitalized letters. I noticed that the most capitalized letter always tends to be her 'E's and she chose Erica as a middle name. Maybe her true name starts with an E and she is most familiar with capitalizing the E, that way?

Great post!

This part particularly struck a chord with me regarding a possible match that I have suggested here on more than one occasion.

The more I look at this girl, the more I feel that she has a really strong resemblance to FLEK, certainly much more than most of the other suggested matches on here - http://doenetwork.org/cases/1286dfdeu.html

Can someone please do a side by side pic of this girl and FLEK.?

I wonder if Anja Beggers was a native German (which would give us the problem of an accent, maybe) or possibly military family?

German girl's eyebrows seem to have more of an arch to them than FLEK's. Nose looks dissimilar, but that may have been worked on.

Most of the "ghosting" manuals written back in the day advocated obtaining a US passport after 2 years or so in the new identity, as a "gold standard" of ID and to eliminate a paper trail to the fraudulent birth certificate and SS card.

Anja Beggers was the supposed victim of a serial murderer. There was a spate of killings in that region and some bodies were found, some were not. Hers wasn't found, obviously. She's extremely unlikely to be FLEK.

I know this one is a stretch, but has anybody looked at Constance Streif? I just think that FLEK has a very unique smile and Constance has a similar smile. Anyway, just throwing it out there. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/8673/5/

Again this may be a stretch but I found this article about the Streif family.http://http://law.justia.com/cases/new-york/other-courts/2014/2014-ny-slip-op-51166-u.html

It's a court document about the estate of Constance Streif's father. It seems there was some dispute. One thing I found very interesting is this statement.

Born in January, 1960, Constance was adopted by decedent and his wife some time thereafter. In the fall of 1982, Constance went to Texas to visit her sister, Barbara. Since that date, Constance has had no communication with her family, and she has not depended upon, or sought, financial assistance from decedent.

Was she trying to avoid her adopted family? Really odd to me. This also means that Constance was actually from New York and not Texas.

Her Doe profile states that she may have travelled to the Netherlands after she went missing, is it possible that this happened and she wasn't a victim of the killer after all?
