I am so angry at all of her interviews. The interviewer did not ask tough questions at all!! In every interview she did, they treated her with kid gloves. They are suppose to peel the onion to get to the truth and they didn't even get through one layer. Moo
I think Len Cannon should interview her again.

Nope!

Reporter: Can you just give me your cell phone # in case something else happens or u want us to pass along

BB2: Absolutely

Reporter: I left my cards in the car but can I just email you or text you

BB2- ok text me. What's your name again?

Reporter: Lauren

BB2- I have a cousin named Lauren, I did see a text from you, I think I responded

Reporter- (going through Phone) oh Jeanette?
oh, did you have Brittany's phone?

BB2- No, Brittany had my phone

So they were talking about a previous text that came in when Brittany had her phone.

Moo
Right, but my point was that I don't think it sounds like Brittany was using her mother's phone as her own phone. She was either holding it before or during the interview. Imo

I don't believe it was during the interview or she would of said BB has my phone. What the reporter ask did you get my previous text or something like that, and BB2 said BB had her phone. (meaning previously, not at the current time) That's how I heard it...but I could be wrong. Moo

Too wiped to go listen again but you could be right. I thought I caught someone asking at the end if they had BB's number (like for future contact?) and her mom saying she had her phone (which I took to mean then/that day).

I now just finished watching the QX and BB video, it was worth it to go watch it again but that was two of them and it took me some time to find both :)

Watching the QX one in hindsight I found worthwhile. There is much that was not said. And much that was said. It was the day after the car was located which I also could not have remembered if I had not looked back, or believe it was, May 9th (car), May 10th (QX).

New Info

Investigators obtain phone records of Maleah Davis' stepfather

"A recently uncovered warrant calls for the cellphone records of Maleah's mother, Brittany Bowens.

According to court documents, Bowens' phone was found in the family's abandoned car the night Maleah was reported missing.

That car was used to drop off Vence at the hospital after he said he was attacked and Maleah was kidnapped.

Police are trying to figure out which phone calls were made before Maleah's disappearance and who had access to the phone after the car left the hospital and was abandoned. "

That entire portion of what you cut and paste it is no longer in the article.

I was wondering why there weren't more posts after this, until I got to the last of the article which states

"Editor's note: A previous version of this article said a warrant for Brittany Bowens' phone records was obtained, which is not correct. That information has been removed from the article."

Thank you. So I guess they did not find her phone in the car, after all.
All that hard thinking for nothing!
I stayed up an extra hour for nothing.
I'm going to bed.

Post 9/11, with all the additional airport security screenings and baggage hassles, unless I drive myself to the airport and leave my car parked at the airport before I fly out, I usually leave all my keys at home with my spouse or whoever is housesitting/pet sitting/babysitting for me or us. It’s one less set of keys I have to worry about keeping track of or accidentally leaving behind somewhere.

We have at least three sets of keys for each car and door, but typically I bring none of them with me on flights unless I’m driving myself to and back home from the airport.

Same here. Have done it that way for years. I see no reason to bring keys to another country or state, what use are they there?

Jmo though.

According to what you posted of their dialogue, she mentioned that she did see another text that she sent her. So it doesn't make sense to me that she would give her that phone number if she was not currently using the phone.
Imo
not currently using her phone, in the past when the reporter first sent the text to set up the interview. The reporter thought she was texting Brittany but the mom said Brittany had her phone previously. Moo

Yeah, I know...

What a huge oops that was.

The whole part about BB's phone being in the car is gone.

I reported my post.

I am stricken that I attached my name to that article and posted it. I actually contacted the "journalist" after I noticed other local stations were not reporting it. They did not even get the editors note right.

I posted a transcript. up thread of the convo.

No, since MD went missing. You need to listen to the video. It's hard to put into words. But after the interview the reporter ask about I think how to get in touch with BB and BB2 said she has my cell phone. Idk something like that. Moo

Can somebody remind me, or perhaps have a link, to whose phone numbers were on the missing poster. I think there were three folks phone numbers, but no law enforcement number.

Hmmm

Well, that was an odd and big mistake. Where are the proofreaders/editors?

They seem to be in the same place with every case I have followed.

Not much faith these days in media. It did not fit with other remarks that have been made.

I don't care who a person is, that if false was extremely unfair and a big error.

Jmo though.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the journalist who wrote the article didn't know that information was in there?

If that's true, then that means it could have been inserted during the fact checking/proofreading process?

Or is she not the one that wrote the article?

Thank you but I feel like my name has been sullied by channel 2. I also posted in a facebook group.

I also wonder if there is any truth in it? I mean where did that come from???

I officially believe in fake news. I just thought it was political news that was fake...not a murder case.

It sounds like she meant BB was holding her phone during the interview.
Why would she give her number to the reporter to text her if she wasn't using that phone herself? I think she meant she did not see the text yet, because she did not have her phone at that time. Imo
She is not the brightest color in the crayon box. IMO

I just don't think that means she gave BB her phone. (Permanently) I think BB used a different phone, that belonged to her. Imo

True, they have to edit articles all the time after the fact, but even then it's usually something minor. Like, this mistake was HUGE.

Typically I just don't trust the media cause they're biased (leave information out, cherry picking data, etc).

I did not question her and then I thanked her like a fool. I was just thinking how my post had spread like wildfire. I am new and did not know what to do. Does this happen a lot or I am just really lucky?
