Possibly more than one, but this particular child Marano and Dykes were seeking full custody of. In Beltran's name.

A legal thing "pro hac vice" meant Nina would be able to be Beltran's Attorney in Texas. Suddenly money started getting paid for child support. Then it was filed he wanted SOLE custody. Add on geographically he could move the child anywhere. They asked for an extended Christmas visit, and thank goodness the mother fought it.

All this happened just a few days after Marisela was murdered. It's thought Beltran himself was not pushing to visit or see his child. He was free to anytime.

So is this blackmail? What does poor Marisela have to do with it? End game apparently Dykes ran the show and she and Nina declared themselves soulmates.

Again the same crime guy has been verified. Has the court records etc. I just watched it again and d*mn if I can't link.

Yes, Nina wanted kids. I'll bet they were going to raise the child.

I love looking at houses, so I decided to Google the address in Mesquite. There’s a Zillow listing that shows it just recently rented out this past March, but there’s still over 80 pictures of the house. A few were IMO a bit peculiar and I’m surprised they were included in the listing, because there’s so many pictures that they’re unnecessary. I can’t help but wonder what prospective renters thought of those, or if they even thought much of it beyond normal renovation/repair/old pictures not being removed. I know I’d be more curious. Super cute house, definitely couldn’t live there myself (knowing what occurred), but I can see how people that might not realize would be happy to move in.

The amenities/features of the home may give clues to the type of lifestyle they lived/people they were/how they spent their time, but also may not, because we don’t really know and it is just a rental. They were (or at least Lisa was) staying there for an okay amount of time before the event (the one we are aware of) took place, according to records on Zillow. I did also see a link for Lisa Ahmed at that address (quite a ways) further down Google.

I’m not sure how much value any of this adds to the thread, but it might add some, and it’s very interesting nonetheless. My apologies if this has been brought up here before. I don’t believe it has, but I could’ve missed it.

This is such a unique case. I have a few possible thoughts in my head, but they will stay there for now.

All IMO, of course. A grain of salt.

(this is also my first post after quite a bit of lurking, so I hope I did okay)

Lisa dykes released on bail and bond was amended so she CAN be with Nina
Spousal privilege (apparently they were married May 8, 2020)
Texas is trusting the leg monitoring system (gps) women are Co-defendants (like Bonnie n Clyde)
I thought spousal privilege was totally waived if you are co-defendants alleged to be acting in concert OF ANY Crime that includes murder for sure

Wow. Just wow. They should get no special privileges of any kind in a capital murder case, married or not.

I’m also a big fan of looking at houses. I spend an unusual amount of time on Zillow for somebody who is neither a realtor nor someone looking to purchase a home…. so I found your comment really interesting and went right to Zillow.

And you are 100% right that some of the photos are odd, to say the least. The random pieces of missing carpet are strange choices to feature … but the ones with the carpet lifted up?!?! What the heck is up with those photos?? They look like something that could’ve been taken by the crime scene investigators!! Why would they take photos like that and why would they put them on the Zillow???

Also, this house looks a lot different from what I was picturing in my head. I was definitely imagining something MUCH seedier in appearance. It’s certainly not luxurious, but it looks like a normal nice-ish house. A place where you’d expect its inhabitants to be people who are well-adjusted and normal enough. Poor Marisela probably had no warning signs or red-flags for what she was walking into. (Not that she’d be at all to blame otherwise though)

Anyway, welcome to websleuths! And what a great first post.

At least the realtor.com listing omitted those photos.

Welcome to WS @thatpart. Never even gave a thought to looking at homes where crime occurred. It truly would give you a feel of folks that lived there. Plus so much more.

Now I'll be house hunting all the time. Thanks for the perspective.

I have always been interested in houses! I remember being a young a child and looking forward to the weekly real estate listings in the Sunday paper.

I thought the same about the photos. I couldn’t help but wonder WHY they are there because they are very crime scene-esque. I also found myself zooming in on one of the kitchen cabinet ones because there was what looked to be white residue/dust on them. I’m currently house hunting (not in TX though) and don’t generally see dark cabinets with white substance? on them, they’re usually pretty cleaned up.

With the little wet bar next to the fireplace, I can imagine they probably kept it stocked with alcohol and who knows what else. He could’ve very easily invited her over to continue drinking (or more, whether she knew it or not), maybe even go for a swim or hang out by the pool. I could see how she might have found appeal in his offer. IMO, anyway.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! It’s a bit of an obsession I’ve always had. On top of researching addresses I come across where a known crime occurred, I also try to thoroughly research any address before living there, and sometimes even houses in the neighborhood. Everything from property records to past owner histories (it is harder for rentals, though). I’ve learned about some less mainstream crimes this way as well. Super interesting sometimes!

Well, I'm not nearly as quick as yall are! Hahaha. But I finally found it. I dont know why we can't link it, since it is public record. I found the address in the Affidavit for Arrest Warrant. It is on Kennsigton. Here is the link to the empty house photos

3113 Kensington Dr, Mesquite, TX 75150 | Zillow

Here is my question... the photo with the 2 areas of missing carpet, I can tell from the Floorplan is the main bedroom. But I cannot place the other room with the missing carpet. I dont see a room with double doors across from another hallway type door. Can someone who is good at that stuff figure it out?

I didn’t link it because it was my first post ever and I wanted to be sure we could. When I went to locate the warrant where I thought the address was located, I had the hardest time finding it again.

What I get from looking at the floor plan blueprint provided is that the master is the only bedroom without any outside windows (hmmm), so the larger piece of missing carpet under the windows had to be in one of the front bedrooms. Looking at the foliage through the blinds of both rooms and from the outside front of the house, I believe it could be the bedroom furthest to the right, below the master.

It was a really great post and a really interesting new tool that I have never thought of. Thank you! I think the way you posted was perfect. I just figured since I found the info on a legit route, I would go ahead and post the link.

Ok, I think I figured it out. I think they are all the master. The pics that you can see the fireplace, you can see the double doors. That is the master. The door that looks like a hall is actually the bathroom. So all the missing carpet is in the master. A large part by the bathroom and a smaller part near the small exit to the room, possibly next to where the bed would be. Real interesting.
