I'm so sorry y'all. I've tried so many times to get back on here, but I've had to work two 90+ hour weeks in a row since coming back from vacation. So much for a break. Every time I try to get on here, I'm telling myself - "ok, DEEEEEP breath and you can do this." then I click the link and get so overwhelmed that I just close it and cry. I'm travelling back home today after being gone for work and have a few minutes. Determined to answer SOME questions until my plane gets here. And tears are already at the back of my eyes. Over dinner last night, I was talking to my co-worker who is here with me and she asked about Papaw. I told her how much I appreciate the people here and on FB and face-to-face who keep talking about Papaw, just want to reflect those sentiments here again.

...
oh, forgot-- also, Pmerle00-- has anyone from the family spoken with the check-out guy at Walmart, to inquire about Papaw's demeanor or such?
I am assuming LE has done so (but then, I guess I really probably shouldn't assume that... )

I have also asked LE for the information on the name of the clerk and if they have interviewed the person, no response.

This entire situation confounds me. <modsnip>

The family must know what is going on. It's been 6 months for heaven's sake. And LE?
Why was MC's death signed off on by LE and by a judge. Especially with some of the evidence people say they have provided to LE!
Maybe MC did leave a letter to his wife that he's leaving and won't be returning. And maybe he gave the reasons why. Could this be why BC and LE are so silent. Because the reasons he gave for leaving are too embarrassing to air? Did MC specify in a letter that he didn't want anyone to know
what happened or where he's gone?
Is it possible there is no crime here?

Let me assure you - my family WILL NOT STOP trying to find EVIDENCE of the truth. We don't have it yet. I wish we did.

Couldn't agree more with both of you.

Pmerle00,

Thank you so much for coming back, and I am so very sorry for what you and your loved ones are having to go through. I just wish I could turn back time to before any of this happened.

Just a couple of things before I have to take off:

I'm the one who posted the documents from iDocket, including the will, and I am now kind of regretting it as they contain so much personal and sensitive information. If you would like me to take them down, I will be more than happy to ask the mods do that, no questions asked. Please let me know if you'd like me to.

One more thing: Is there any particular aspect of the case you feel we should be focusing on? How can we best help?

Prayers and hugs to you and your loved ones, and safe travels. I know PaPaw is so very proud of you. Take care.

Honestly, I haven't even looked at the will yet. I do know it is posted here and will be looking at it myself. Let me talk to my mom and aunt and see if they feel it should be taken down, but I know they are both for as much transparency as possible, so they may be ok with it.

I'm really not sure what to focus on at this point or ask anyone here to focus on. I just know that asking more questions and spreading the word as much as possible has the best chance of shaking something, ANYTHING loose. And we soooo need something to break here. :-(

No way.

Why would he have purchased Coricidin HBP if he planned to kill himself immediately after?

Also, why then would there be little drops of blood in his workshop?

Yes! This! Not only is Papaw not of the character who might take his own life, but there are so many things that just do not add up for suicide.

  • #489
How do we know the meds were for him? Do we know if he had HBP? If so, was he on meds and were they left at the home?

Here is an odd question for our VI...Has Becca had open-heart surgery?

I've disclosed and he does have high blood pressure and is on medication for it. This medication was accounted for at the house.

To my knowledge, Becca has not had open heart surgery. But I will ask for other input on that question to verify.

Can anyone confirm if BC is still working?

Or has she "retired" on MC's pension and the sale of his possessions?

Yes, she is still working

Im glad you are back pmerle00. I hope all is well in your busy life. I was wondering if the family has thought about filing a complaint with the local LE?

<modsnip>

In the document, "Proof of Death" - it clearly states that MC received a MONTHLY pension check that was deposited into a JOINT acct, but then goes onto say that MC's disappearance has caused BC to face a "financial crisis" --- like I've said all along, him disappearing should have ZERO impact on her finances, what would have changed? His only source of income, his monthly pension check would have continued to be deposited into their JOINT acct with her having full access to those funds so what is this purported "financial crisis" she faced ?

I thought I had covered this before, but the DROP fund is what changed, causing the financial crisis. It somehow switched to paying out semi annually instead of monthly, effectively cutting their resources in half the month after he went missing. Now, I am still looking into HOW that happened, but I do know that it happened. I've seen the pension statements myself, historical and current as of April. Their account was paying out half of what they had been receiving. Hopefully that is clear enough.

I am writing this one last time. Or, some might think one time too many. I just cannot get out of my mind.....all the potential evidence. We asked, and forgive my asking again, was anything dusted thoroughly? Was luminol used anywhere outside of the workshop? Did MC make it to the truck? I don't know. Did no one investigate that possibility? Or, did he stumble over to the Mustang? If he was dazed, could he still get to that car? Get blood on, or in, the vehicle? They had blood in the shop, and a man possibly down. I would hope there are notes, on the investigative methods put into place to rule those vehicles as clean. My head is full of similar questions. There was blood. We do not really know exactly how much. But nothing to indicate life threatening injuries.

I really do detest writing this when I am witnessing the loss of Michael Chambers. Deceased. Somewhere out there. Somewhere.

“Somewhere, out there, we will find you Michael Chambers.”

Bringing forth my query. I really wish we could verify the investigation, that has transpired here. I am not saying LE is at fault in any way, but I believe a more thoroughly trained CSI, FBI, the Texas Rangers, would be looking at the evidence, and loss of evidence.

I wonder, and truly believe, that if you can find his phone, you will find Michael Chambers. I don't believe that item left his pocket. I can honestly feel that in my gut.

Now, I'm going to go sit down. I'm going to ask the Universe to help us here. We all just want Michael to come home. I really believe the Universe does work with, and for us. You know, on our side. Or helps us find missing people. Young Kaytlynn Cargill. Found in a landfill. If the worker had not spotted Kaytlynn's battered body, she could have gone missing for......forever? Their family suffering years of sorrow. But she was found! And I believe she will help nail the monster(s), that took her young soul away from our world.

From previously posted. I hope this is allowed? Almost like replying to myself. Heck, I do that for real. Sorry, trying for a smidgen of levity. It is hard to find that when we see all of this evil in our world.

All MHO as always. My apologies for stepping on any toes. I'll try to learn faster, from you more experienced sleuthers. And visitors too. You can join in, and voice your sleuthing methods, here in the threads. Shameless plug for this wonderful site.

And, tomorrow morning, Michael Chambers will walk into a Police Office, and I wish that could come true. I really do. This gentle man loved his children, and grandchildren, far too much to leave their lives. I am sorry to write those words. We all need to face this. Or not. It's never over til' it's over.

HCSO hasn't answered my questions about the truck, but I have other info from my family to answer other portions of your post:

Luminol was used in the workshop and portions of the home and did not yield anything suspicious.

The mustang wasn't at the residence, as my aunt posted on BPH in detail.

Fingerprints... They haven't answered that for me either, and I don't recall seeing an abundance of dark spots from dusting, so I would think it wasn't processed appropriately on the day Papaw went missing.

Yes, I certainly have considered raising hell in any way possible. But I've been asked by other family members who are coordinating with the PI to wait and try to be cooperative and positive a bit longer. We want the family to be seen as not causing trouble still. Being obnoxious with questions, yes, but not causing trouble. Doesn't mean I don't want to!

Thank you for answering my question. I would feel the same way. You truely are a remarkable person. Your pawpaw would be proud!

You know, something that I can't get out of my mind is the statement Meeks made at the presser. Something like, "Maybe he was protecting his wife."
What in the world do you think he meant by that. What are some possible situations where his disappearance could be protecting his wife?
Thoughts...

What I thought he meant that day was, if it was a robbery where they didn't think anyone was home until they saw Papaw... or a robbery that was close to the time Becca was to be home, Papaw could have suggested leaving (for the bank? Idk) with the invaders to keep them from harming her. And that, to me, seemed like a simple statement that put his love for her into context as well.

Can we back up and explain something to me? Didn't BC state she had to have the death certificate because of his Pension Plan income and financial decisions? I have been visiting with our agent who manages our 401K where I work. He is very familiar with Pension Plans. He is getting some more info for me, but he says the money being deposited into their joint checking account should not have changed at all just because MC went missing. Assuming BC is the beneficiary of the plan, she would keep getting the pension. He is going to make some inquiries as to how the Pension Plan would be affected but he felt for sure nothing would have to have been paid back if at some point a body was recovered. There is a certain amount of money and it is all his or all hers. Doesn't matter about MC missing or not. JMO

please take a moment to read my comment about the DROP draw changes. It's not anything to do with him going missing, but somehow a change was made to their account and that portion of his pension changed from paying monthly to semi annually. Becca couldn't change it back without Papaw being there, she tried. So her choice was find a way to live on half the income, or find a way to be able to make the changes herself (divorce, probate will) and live on 75% the income (half the pension plus the full DROP).

BC sold the mustang....and nothing else matters because she survived MC.

I could be mistaken, and I will try to verify, but if you look at my aunt's post on BPH, I think she said the mustang sold was a different one than noted in the will. I'm in the air or I would be better at having more than 1 thing open at a time to refer to!

According to this Texas statute, she 'could have been' ordered to do any of the following:

CITATION AND SEARCH. (a) If the fact of a person's death must be proved by circumstantial evidence under Section 454.002, at the request of any interested person, the court may order that a citation be issued to the person presumed dead and that the citation be served on the person by publication and posting and by additional methods as directed by the order.
(b) After letters testamentary or of administration are issued, the court may also direct:
(1) the personal representative to search for the person presumed dead by notifying law enforcement agencies and public welfare agencies in appropriate locations that the person has disappeared; and
(2) the applicant to engage the services of an investigative agency to search for the person presumed dead.
(c) The expense of a search or notice under this section shall be taxed to the estate as a cost and paid out of the estate property.

http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/ES/htm/ES.454.htm

We know that a PI was hired, but from the BPH page it was stated that he answers to the daughters. I never read anything about a published notice that I can remember. I wonder if any of these things were ordered, especially considering the speed in which this was all wrapped up.

Another interesting part in that statute is that the estate cannot be distributed for three years. That must not apply if it is all going to the spouse, right?

There was a published notice in the Quinlan tawakoni news.

Pawpaw was not tech savvy, didn't have an email address etc. that has been stated many times by our VI yet he felt a laptop was important enough to leave to JC in his will. I'm sure that's totally irrelevant but it jumped out at me.
