"That would be too much like real investigating, IMO."

Perfect line!! You hit the nail on the head. The thanks button just wasn't enough. I HAD to let you know how much this one line of yours summed up my feelings exactly about the ( lack of ) investigation efforts.

Good post. I'm really looking forward to the Disappeared episode.

This has been one of the most heart-wrenching and frustrating cases I've ever followed...

Thanks. I know we are not the only ones that feel this way either. I remember asking WAY back, why the whole town isn't demanding some, any, information about this man's disappearance. Do the citizens of Hunt County actually feel safe and protected by their LE? I remember it being stated at one point that the citizens don't make waves with LE because, "We have to live here!" Yikes.
Infuriating, isn't it? I cannot believe that his family has had to suffer this long with not a single answer. It breaks my heart for them, especially those of them that are trying really hard to find out what happened and more importantly, where Papaw IS.
Like you, this case has hit me hard from the get go. I have followed many many cases over the years but this one is in my top 5 of ones I want solved TODAY.

Ditto, double ditto, triple ditto! I've felt exactly the same as you and JazzTune. I lay awake every night, thinking about Papaw, before I eventually go to sleep.

Welcome to MC's thread, Talullah! Hope you can read the earlier threads and stick with us here.

I don’t know of many people-especially men-that enjoy Walmart so it’s odd to me that MC drove 8-9 miles (thread1, p.5) for mascara. It’d make sense if he had other business in the area and stopped in for a few things-but 8-9 miles for mascara-is weird. Do we know if he had other business that day?

My husband spends a lot of time at WalMart- he's a "consumer," lol. He'd also happily go out to get just one or 2 items, if I asked him to. Me? I hate to shop!

True, there's apparently no absolute proof as to whether MC returned home and put the store items in the house, but chances are pretty darn good he did. Don't quote me on this, but I'm remembering from somewhere that the question was asked a VI if the WalMart receipt was checked for fingerprints, and only MC's ( and maybe the cashier, I have no idea) were on it. I could very well be wrong and my memory is just making this up! No link, so no fact. I guess it's just my opinion re: a memory I have.... I'll happily delete if need be.
No need to delete! I can't exactly remember, either, but for some reason, I thought the VI said they didn't test for fingerprints. Heck, they didn't even process the truck.....

Your dad had things squared away! My husband is like that too, which is why I am not one bit surprised that MC bought her mascara. T.C.O.B.
As for 'picking out' the right kind, etc. it was no problem. IIRC, BC left the empty mascara out on the counter, as was their way, so he knew she needed it. Easy enough to take the bottle and match it up at the store. In my family we tend to snap a pic and text it to each other if we are in a similar situation, so the other person knows what to pick up. I understand though, that Papaw wasn't very 'tech' when it came to the phone so he likely just took the old bottle with him. MOO

I have never read that there was only the cashier's and MC's prints on the receipt. In fact, I would be VERY VERY VERY surprised if HCSO went through the trouble to determine that. That would be too much like real investigating, IMO. I'd love to know if in fact, they did process that slip. Our VI "don't come around here no more" but if she does maybe she could answer this for us!

I'm so touched that the Disappeared episode is going to be on Father's Day. Although I hope and pray he is found well before then, what a meaningful day to air his story. I'm also very interested to see who all participated in that filming. I'm a faithful Disappeared watcher, and if they follow their normal story pattern, they WILL speak of all the oddities in the case, the backstories that show who might want him disappeared. Also, the suspicious actions of BC and a few others. They normally do a pretty thorough job of setting up suspects for you to ponder. I know that in the past, the family had been unable to share any real backstory or info with news interviewers. I hope that they were able to be open and honest with this crew.

"When a person disappears without a trace, often the most critical information is hidden in their actions and words from the days before they vanished." is the intro to the Disappeared show. And this is the format of the show. So I am anxious to see if there is anything 'new' that we find out from this show.

Praying so hard every single day that his daughter Suzy finds resolution soon. Today would be great!

All MOO.

I was hoping others might chime in, to see if I might be losing my marbles or if anyone else had read that perhaps the WalMart receipt and items might have been checked for prints. I very much hope our VI might pop in again, one of these days, and understand just how difficult it has to be after so much time has passed, with no new leads that we know of. I still think I may have read that there was some investigating done inside the home, in a limited fashion. Nothing, but nothing should have been done in this case that was NOT thorough, from the get-go.

If you go to Realtor.com, you can still see pictures of Papaw's house. (Inside and out.). After reading so much about this case, it is interesting to see where the garages are, the shop, the back door, and the bathroom where the receipts were left, etc. They do say the sale is pending. House is completely empty with the exception of what appears to be the master bedroom furniture. My heart hurts for his kids and grandchildren.

The master bedroom furniture got me. I feel if my husband disappeared and I was no way involved, I’d want to keep that! Even if I never used it again... just me ?

Definitely not just you.

I could very well be remembering that someone asked a VI if anything in the house, or the receipt, was tested for prints, instead of the actuality of it, and perhaps there was never an answer. I believe we did learn later on that the truck WAS processed. The one thing we didn't learn about the truck is if it were the investigators that pushed the driver's seat forward, or was it found that way.

New MSM article:

“Team Christina has now reached out to Losoya to offer help in the search for her dad.

‘It’s time to move on it’s time to stop. Go on with your life. And they didn’t. They continued to search, they continued to go. Now she’s found,’ said Losoya.

She has now hired private investigator Philip Klein, who is looking at the case as a possible crime.

‘Well there’s a lot of anomalies in this case,’ said Klein. ‘This is one of those case were obviously people just don’t get up and vanish

Losoya has a message for anyone who is holding back information regarding the disappearance of her father.

‘Do the right thing. Clear your conscious,’ said Losoya. ‘Give a family peace.’

Investigators are offering up a $25,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Chambers.

Losoya is asking anyone who’s out hunting, fishing or in the wilderness in Hunt County to be on the lookout for any clues this Spring.” (BBM)

I have faith papaw’s girls will never ever give up. Wish there were more leads and directions to go from here but hoping soon they will get a much needed break in this case.

Totally agree with you, I want this case solved!! It has gone on way to long and I too think about it nightly. Prayers that someone comes forward soon.:please:

I wonder if they uped the reward money if anyone would come forward? It seems like money has played a part in other aspects of some of their lives...who knows, maybe someone that has information is thinking that if they hold out that the reward will be increased.....I hope that's not the case but you never know. Just a thought, I am just grasping at straws because this case needs to be solved and papaws family needs answers.

Is IS a good idea, and one can only hope...

However, the reason I doubt increasing the reward would make much difference ( and this is strictly my opinion only, ) is because the one/ones who know what happened to PaPaw are not about to come forward for any reason.

Even those who may be aware from just a peripheral viewpoint, ( not involved ) would have to know too they would immediately be suspected of being the leak.

I would imagine the fear of retribution from the one/ones responsible would motivate their actions far more than any sum of reward money.

That's all just my opinion. I would be more than happy to be wrong though.

Not meaning to point fingers at anyone either. This is just the general feeling I have about this case from watching it unfold over the past year....

Sorry for quoting my post but I missed the biggest typo. Ugh...

Supposed to say, "IT is a good idea, and one can only hope..." Not IS is a good idea.

Sorry if it misled anyone...

( I should know better than to try to type with a toddler in the house...;) )

Thanks! I'm glad, because it sure didn't make much sense to my ears...

Wish I knew why I never see the all my typos until it's too late to edit. Then there they are...:o
