An outstanding mortgage balance owed by the Chambers wouldn't be "claims owed the estate." That would be a claim the estate owes. There are quite a few instances whereby a decendent may have been holding a mortgage for someone else. For example, my dad had sold some acreage to a neighbor farmer and held the mortgage for them and received the monthly payments for it- all drawn up by an attorney. When dad died, my sister and I continued to receive those monthly payments for the land until the mortgage was paid off, as that was a claim owed to the estate.

RBBM

Very important. Thank you for pointing this out!

So, if there were any claims against the estate (e.g., mortgage, credit cards), those would not show up on the inventory sheet, correct? It only shows assets, yes?

Meeks said there were two bikes? I was never able to watch the video interview he did but thought I read a fairly complete transcript, more or less.

I am pretty certain he did, but I cannot find a link at the moment. I will keep looking!

You may be correct too. Just shows we all see different things when we look at the same image...

Yes we do all see things differently. Without a "control" ie another angle or an additional picture, can't even tell for sure that the white part isn't a reflection of the overhead lights on a shiny box.

(Sorry for the monkey wrench)

There's a popular phrase....follow the money.

Sent from my SCH-I435L using Tapatalk
Yes, I get that. But in this case, where is the money?

Are people suggesting MC may have been killed so things could be sold, therefore acquiring some much needed cash?

What has been sold other than the house on the market and her Mustang?
That house in Quinlan was going to sink her.

Where is the money ( or lack thereof) - that's the million dollar question.

*If* that's what this case is about, which we really don't know.

I'm curious to know how much he received in retirement. In order to maintain the house, properties, cars, etc, would have taken at least $60,000
a year. With not a whole lot left over.

And this would have started shortly after retirement. If that is the case, there had to have been some serious marital discord between the two.

Divorce would have been the best option.

Why did she stay and why didn't he kick her out?

That's a good point. I hadn't thought about that either. So yes, thank you!

And don't ever be sorry for throwing a monkey wrench. I appreciate other perspectives. Even though I may lean a certain way about a particular aspect, I'm seldom completely sold on any one specific idea.

I've been here long enough to have been proven wrong a lot! :blushing:

We're all here for the same purpose, so keep throwing those monkey wrenches! ;) That's how we all increase our knowledge.

Thanks again for your input...

I think he just said there was a bike missing from the shop. No mention of 2 bikes but I will go back and listen.

At around 11:40 they start talking about the evidence of the bicycle.. The interviewer asks where the bike is now. Meeks explains the evidence they have that the family is well aware of suggests suicide. He will not go into that evidence but the family is well aware of it. He goes on to state the speed of the travel was much faster than someone walking but much slower than a car, so it has to be a bike. At 12:53 he states there is a bicycle missing from the home. No mention of 2 bicycles.......

I have additional things to present
that continues to paint a different angle
on the relationship between BC and MC. (And it's nothing bad but I think it reveals more about the relationship between MC and BC). But it will take a bit of time and work so...

I don't think many here are interested in viewing his disappearance as anything but sinister. Perhaps there is concrete evidence to that and I just haven't come across it yet. (But has broadly been hinted at). So I will wait for the PI report to come out and remain quiet in the meantime. And in that meantime, I truly hope that he will be found and questions answered.

You and I don't share every opinion on this case, but I must say as time goes on, no new evidence appears, and things that I once viewed as solid are shaken out somewhat, I am more open than ever to consider more possibilities on the reasons for his disappearance. While most of my leanings do point towards sinister acts, I am also not discounting the possibility he may have just walked away from it all or even some other less sinister scenario that I haven't thought of.
I am making most of my theories dependent on the character of a person that has been painted by those that knew him and are willing to speak on it. I also tread softly in this area, as I am sympathetic to the fact that the one person who can legitimately speak truth of his character isn't here to do so. And, it has caused me to think more of what my character might appear to be to others in particular circumstances where I may react harshly or not put my best foot forward and hopefully it has lead to others being treated kinder and with more patience and understanding by me as a result.
My big hope is that behind the scenes, the PI has uncovered things that will lead to resolution and his being found, as I think the biggest heartbreak of his family must not be in knowing what happened to him-no matter how sad and gut wrenching the details- but in the levels of hell your imagination can take you to when you are left to consider every possibility in not knowing.

There's been a lot of thought-provoking discussion on this thread lately.

You mention often that many here only want to view this as sinister. I need to address this again. I don't think anyone WANTS to view this as sinister. I think we want to know the truth. No matter what it is. But presenting facts that make no sense as evidence of suicide isn't going to cut it. Not because the mention of suicide, but because we have brains and the explanation does not make sense.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this, nannymo!

I haven’t been able to verify it, either, so I might have just imagined it (seriously, I have had a few dreams about this case). I’m so sorry.

No problem! I just don't want something to be viewed as fact when I don't think it is...thanks.

If you're going to feel bad, scoot over on the bench and make room for me. ;)

I still feel embarrassed about how I insisted someone in the family HAD to have seen that receipt for the items MC purchased at Walmart.

Since the VI said they were allergy pills for people with high blood pressure, I held fast to that belief until someone pointed out that the VI could have only obtained that information from BC. The receipt would have been taken by the sheriff right away.

Therefore NO ONE in the family would have seen the receipt.

So see, you don't get to make a mistake here all by yourself. You've got company...:seeya:
