Yeah. Extremely odd.

Noah Thomas was in the septic tank. Still breaks my heart and makes me cringe to think about it. It's good thinking, whoever started talking about it. And really good looking put seeing the red flashing light! For Noah, they had looked in the tank and saw nothing. Then, they had to get it pumped and the operator saw him in there, when it got low enough. If it's blinking red, no reason to not get it pumped.

It's like she had a garage sale and moved his stuff there. I go to estate sales and I see stuff like that. Again she's not offering his boots to his kids. She's not going to get much for them. But that lift alone is $2000 maybe $1500 used. Maybe she used that to enhance the sale price of the house. - Woops Totesmagoat you beat me to it.

if his body had been put in the septic tank wouldn't dirt be quite disturbed? Or it is topped with gravel? And to the poster who said it was checked, was that on an early thread from PM? If they did check there it mist be that it looked disturbed. Otherwise if it looked covered with grass I don't see anyone having a reason to investigate.

I also remember it was said that the septic was checked at the residence, on a much earlier thread by the VI. Septic tanks seem to commonly be looked into when adults and children go missing, from my crime reading experience.

I want to thank all of you who are keeping this case alive with really interesting and thoughtful conversation. I told myself quite a while ago, after news and discussions re: Papaw got pretty darn quiet, that my goal would be to try to keep this thread on page one of WS. Whether I can ever contribute much of anything towards finding Papaw or not, I will never forget him or his family. I appreciate each one of you :)

Ok i can rephrase that. Someone would have noticed anyone on a bike riding in the street especially if they had to slow down for them. You are correct when you say a lot of people don't remember little details but some people get annoyed when they have to slow down for bicyclists, and i think that incident would stick out to them.

Someone might remember an incident like that, yes, especially if they became aware of a missing MC right away. I was just going to add that if HCSO had put out more specific info more quickly for people to BOLO and think back, but his being missing was on the local news stations, in the local papers, and posters were gotten out fairly quickly. The family did a fantastic job, and still does, but they should never have to do LE's job for them :(

I can't imagine anyone putting MC in the tank. He'd certainly be discovered at pumping time and then the charade would be over. Unless of course, "he put his self in there."[emoji44]

Not necessarily. There is no need to lift the lid of the tank to pump...you just hook up the hose to the valve on top and pump whatever is in there out. The lid would only need to be lifted if there was a problem.

That'll be Meeks' next brilliant theory.

I feel the same... I just hope wherever he is, he's found soon.
You’re welcome! Glad I could help. I’m really hoping that he isn’t in there. I would love to think that he just walked away but that’s not a possibility in my mind either.

Not being knowledgeable about this sort of thing, would the chemicals break a body down? I don't think there would be a hose big enough to pump
a large body out.

And if BC is as calculating as she is being portrayed, I don't think the tank would be a good or smart option. Imo

That is so sad:( that poor baby. Honestly, when I saw the flashing light I was very confused because I had no idea what it was.. another awesome websleuth member is the one who picked up on what it could be.

I'm not sure about the chemicals that are used for maintaining the system, but lye could be used to help break it down faster. And the only thing that would be pumped out it the liquids..anything solid and heavy would probably stay at the very bottom of the tank and wouldn't be seen until the tank was drained low enough. I'm not sure what has or is going through BC head, but sometimes the best place to hide something is in plain sight

I don't see how MC could have put himself in the tank. Obviously, he couldn't have replaced the lid over the tank afterwards.

An open tank would have been quickly noticed too on the same day he disappeared.

I tend to think though that maybe you were being facetious. If so, I apologize for taking your comment literally. Sometimes I can miss the intended irony in other people's posts... :o

I find a lot of things odd. The first thing that jumped out to me was their bedroom set. She didn’t want it because it belonged to her and MC. Either she didn’t want it because the memories in that bedroom gave her nightmares and a constant reminder she can’t find her husband... or she didn’t want the bedroom set because it was theirs together and she no longer gives two 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 about him. I’m going with option 2. But that is my opinion.

The couch: I feel as the couch is a manly item that most men seem to care more about: the look, the feel, comfort etc. I wonder if MC picked out this couch and he spent a lot of his down time there when he wasn’t in his shop. If it was something he had chosen, I see why it’s still there in the home. Maybe that one was older and BC just a wanted a new one ?

Everything in the shop is odd- and nothing how I pictured it for some reason. The boots, the bike, the lift- heck the half drinken water bottle throws me off!

I think the septic tank is a real possibility. I also think that BC kept the house for so long making sure things would stay calm and watch over any investigations done there. I think after all this time she doesn’t believe he will be found and when he is, there wont be enough evidence to pin it on her or whoever else helped her. All my own theory!

Good observations! Especially about the septic tank issue...the house didn't go up for sale until February of this year. That is almost a year after the disappearance...should be enough time for any evidence to deteriorate. Ive heard that it was searched on the night he went missing..if the tank was full and he was on the bottom, i think its entirely possible that he could have been overlooked. And do we know exactly who looked in it?? I think someone needs to drain it and search it again.

I’m hoping that she wasn’t finished moving yet. Who leaves all of that stuff for a new owner? I would be mad if I bought the house and then had to haul off a bunch of stuff.

The furniture all looks really nice. I’m sure she could have sold it or at least put it in storage. Hopefully, it was just used as a kind of staging.

Now the things in the shop are different. I would love to have a shop like that on my property! Especially with all the expensive equipment already installed. And I’m not a man or even mechanically inclined.

While searching the web last night I came across that first article you posted...and a few others that I couldn't read all the way through..including a post by a guy who gave a very long, disturbing, description of how to get rid of a body....extremely detailed. Lets just say it left me with the creepy impression that he was speaking from experience. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a topic of discussion on this site in the future. A lot of articles about missing people being found in septic tanks came up as well. I also learned that an aerobic treatment system and a septic system are not the same. An aerobic system will break down waste considerably faster than a traditional septic system. The only way you would find anything would be to open the tank, drain it, and test the sludge for hair, teeth, or any other DNA that might be left :(
