I had considered nosebleed too but it seems like he would have surely stepped in it at some point on the way to the door. Of course the drops in the pool were stationary, so I could imagine a nosebleed happening there but then heading toward the door would have been made by someone moving which would show in the droplets. However they don't show any movement pattern either. Just straight down at a 90° angle by someone standing relatively still or moving quite slowly.Their blood spatter interpretation is quite interesting. If you look up examples of different types of blood spatter, you will find quite a bit of bright red blood, like on MC's garage floor. Probably because many blood spatter events are arterial.
Also, people keep saying that the blood droplets on his garage floor are in perfect circles. If you look closely, you will see small spines and satellites outside of the main droplet. This is consistent with the blood dropping at an angle between 75-90 degrees at a low velocity.
In my opinion, it looks like a nosebleed.

I felt it was planted because of the dogs being able to follow it to the culvert which is across the road and down a bit. Someone who had the blood in a vial could have gone there to dispose of what was left (and thereby lead the investigation to a dead end). But it was mentioned that it would have taken several vials to dispense as much as was seen on the shop floor.
