I'm sorry Tripod no I'm asking why would Meeks bring it up.The ones who follow the cases in Hunt County and already had suspicions and low opinions of Meeks are the only ones making noise about the Michael. Most people have moved on to supporting him in rounding up Methicans as they call them.Things are good for him if he just don't bring it up.
Gotcha, Steve. Thanks for clarifying :) I get what you're saying about Meeks, but flawed though he may be, I personally just can't get the seeming lack of concern ( the silence), because I always did believe Meeks getting choked up about MC missing in the first presser was genuine.

Bump for MC. I also just tried to look up info on James Hallman, but only found 3 short articles. I do recall reading about him in more detail, ages ago, and felt he'd left on his own. Wish I could remember more, but yes, some circumstances are similar to MC's disappearance, except for no blood found.

Good Morning all..
Popping in to check for updates
I do not believe he is missing on his own terms...just my gut feeling. I know there are people who decide to just pick up and leave and start over but I just don't get that feeling with Pawpaw.
I check in hoping for something new... I haven't seen any posts from VI either so hopefully they are still investigating and will find him soon.

Hmmm.. interesting ..I will have to read up more on Brandon's case. I have felt all along that something was amiss with the Hunt County LE dept and have read a few news releases about them that are very negative articles involving some of the LE there. The red flag for me was how quickly BC was able to obtain Death Cert, sell properties, etc. I had to jump through hoops in my county when my parents passed away in order to be able to do anything with the estate...took me months and more money each time I had to file something so for her to be able to obtain these documents so quickly makes me feel something hinky is up. I looked at the link, then read a couple of older articles to get some basics. Didn't come across any specifics at all yet about possible Hunt Co. official misdeeds, but haven't delved that far yet. Interesting case.

I certainly hope the state has, is, or will investigate complaints of the authorities in Hunt Co., if warranted. It would be nice to have further explanation re: the speedy death cert. and will probate, which bothers us all. It may, and probably is, quite legal, but to me it's highly unusual.

Is anyone else following the Buried podcast? I wonder if anyone has contacted him about this case.

Interesting case.As with any case in Hunt County you will not get details from reading any of the local press. You have to reach out to the locals this seems to be like any other case there where a good sized group of people know the truth but can't do anything about it.I think its interesting his sister testified against him and is know a detective. His grandmother supports him but not her.

Is there any other reason to believe that MC is responsible for his own disappearance other than a failed marriage? When I put it on paper; Random Person responsible:reasons why-money, freedom, jealousy, anger, revenge, accident. MC responsible: reasons why-failing marriage and what ?????????

1).Failure to find a body
2). Papaw told his son in law it would be easy to disappear
3). He disappeared shortly after his wife went back to work and possibly back to her boyfriend
4) His obligation to her was over.
5) 3 things he'd need to disappear:
a) his glasses b) his driver's license
c) and money. And though this was uncertain, it is my opinion he had managed to squirrel away a bunch of money and he took a large portion.

Just some thoughts.

But What are his reasons for disappearing from his life ? All I can come up with is his marriage

And leave everything he worked for to the wife whose behavior had wrecked their lives, the sweet retirement he was just about to enjoy.

And maybe the promise of a better life somewhere different and with someone else.

If I put it on a scale, left side holding a failing marriage and the right side holding all the reasons to live, family, friends, cars, money, God. I just can’t see it

So no matter I always end up back to disappearance at another’s hands :(
