Oh snap, Rickey taking shots at Mr. Tobin. Hahaha.

"That's four hours of our lives we will never get back"! Prosecutor describing Tobin's testimony. There was audible laughter.

  • #63
Prosecutor reminding the jurors that two of KA's friends, including one who described herself as best friend, called LE to tell them about KA's threats to kill Mo

Prosecutor Rickey Jones is delivering closing arguments for the state. Says they presented 38 witnesses.
8:01 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Jones plays the sound of gunshots and screams again for jurors. He loved ones inside look down. Many are embracing. Her parents and brother were not in the courtroom for that moment.
8:03 AM · Nov 16, 2023

"For good measure, the defendant waked up to her and put another bullet right in her heart," - Jones.
8:05 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Wilson's parents and brother are back in the courtroom now.
8:06 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Jones reads the primary points of the charge to the jury.
8:06 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Right before that, he brought up Armstrong's escape on Oct. 11 when she ran away from corrections officers after a doctor's appointment in south Austin.
8:07 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Jones now addresses Steven Aston's testimony, the ballistics examiner in this case, who connected the ballistic evidence found on scene to Armstrong's firearm.
8:11 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Jones (paraphrased): No else in the world fired from that pistol, had their DNA at the scene, was mad Wilson was with Strickland and left in Armstrong's Jeep 2 min after the murder.
8:13 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Jones now discusses Armstrong's friends' testimony. "What's more chilling is that when her two best friends found out Wilson was dead, they called police" telling them to look into Armstrong.
8:14 AM · Nov 16, 2023

ETA: continue...

PowerPoint displays texts from Armstrong's phone that he says proves the phone is hers. The Defense continued to make the argument through testimony that there's no proof Armstrong actually used her phone.
8:21 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Another slide is titled "Proof Kaitlin was there when Mo was shot" and the following points.-Gunshots 9:15-
Jeep parked in alley leaves after gunshots
-Armstrong DNA on Wilson's bike-Fired casings from Armstrong's gun at apt
-Shooting personal
- shot in heart
8:25 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Jones says Caitlin Cash, who found Wilson on the floor with gunshot wounds, told him to call her Cash because "Kaitlin killed my friend.""She doesn't even like her own name anymore," Jones said.
8:29 AM · Nov 16, 2023

State wraps in about 30 minutes.
@rickcofer
for the defense delivering arguments now.
8:30 AM · Nov 16, 2023

"It's a case based on assumptions, confirmation bias and a lack of direct evidence," - Cofer.
8:31 AM · Nov 16, 2023

Cofer now lays into Strickland, calling him dishonest.
8:32 AM · Nov 16, 2023

"I want you to bring your diversity of your life experience into your deliberations," Cofer says to the jury.
8:34 AM · Nov 16, 2023

"Jealousy is a fundamentally human emotion," Cofer says. Remember, State used jealousy and Armstrong's feelings toward Wilson as a motive in the case.

I think the longer this prosecutor talks, the shorter the deliberations are going to be. He is definitely hitting one out of the ballparrk!

“Whoever stole her phone and her jeep were running side by side”

Lol
Love it! This was right up there with Ricky Jones asking if CS could ride his motorcycle and drive the Jeep at the same time!

The defense tried to say well how do we know it's her Jeep on the surveillance cameras? Then after we had the GPS infotainment system they tried to say well how do we know she was the person driving the Jeep? And then Colin tells you about being in the garage that night when she pulled up driving that Jeep.

Loving all his (her) black Jeep talk…rabbit hole!

  • #74
They won't have time for a bathroom break before the verdict comes back!

  • #75
Then they tried to make you question if maybe someone had her cell phone. But whoever had her phone was also interested in texting about real estate deals. :D

The more I talk, the more ridiculous this is
