She may have been insistent because she needed the work. She needed a job, and she had training as a yoga teacher, so it makes sense that she would be tenacious about finding a job in her area of expertise. She was a yoga teacher in Austin before the pandemic hit, and apparently left that work to go into real estate so she could continue to make a living. I don't see it as an issue of "entitlement."
The article said she "volunteered" as a yoga teacher. I may be wrong, but I take that to mean she was not paid. Perhaps she was given free or reduced price board? JMO

Volunteering to teach could give her experience teaching in the town, and then possibly lead to a paying position if they liked her work and at some point needed to hire someone, or at least give her references for a posiiton elsewhere over time.

I don’t think she thought at all! I think she was so full of rage she didn’t think of anything but killing Mo :(
Except she did take the bicycle: IMO that seems planned in advance, not a spontaneous action (assuming it.was stolen to stage a robbery, since why would she cycle off and leave her own car at the house).

I’m surprised if all she had to flee on was the $12K she got for her Jeep. There was a lot of speculation she had a lot of cash from flipping houses etc, maybe that wasn’t really so or she couldn’t access it quickly. Everything the US Marshals have said stress she was trying to live on very limited funds. That cosmetic surgery seems unwise if it took over half of her funds, to be worth it I’d think it would have to be a big change not just a little tweak on her nose…we shall see

Actually that's the attitude of a good realtor. It worked! If she had put her strong intiative to a more positive purpose, she'd have a good man who appreciates her & a much more rewarding career. Oh, and a life.
Exactly. With her youth, looks, resources, sister, and professional experience, starting over would have been a snap— if only she hadn’t racked up felony murder/ unlawful flight charges.

Yeah, you're not supposed to work on a tourist visa, so places give a discount on accommodation.

Yoga teachers could be paid in cash by each student.

because, as perhaps @Countem will verify, medical cost are deductible to the extent they exceed 7.5 % of AGI. :)
Who loves a little tax talk on a Friday night? I do!

(In my best Star Trek Dr. McCoy impersonation) I’m an auditor not a tax accountant! :D

(But that sounds right, if she itemizes!)

And, are you kidding? Any time accounting creeps its way into cases, it’s a fun time!

wonder how she got caught? did someone turn her in because they figured out who she was? did she slip up and miss family and call them so they tracked her that way? Be interesting to find out how

Ha! I'm a tax accountant not an auditor and view (too many) things through the lenses of tax and finance....even on a Friday night!

Terrible case. Unhinged situation. JMO.

I thought her nose was cute. She should have kept that $6K. What is the point of getting the cosmetic surgery AFTER you have already successfully used the fraudulent passport? Did she plan to keep traveling around the world on the remaining $6K??
I was wondering that too. At this point it seems like she would no longer have matched her sister's passport profile very well either after the change in hair style and color, and the nose job. Using that passport to go anywhere else from Costa Rica would have been dicey.

That’s true! Forgot about the bicycle. Though maybe that was a spontaneous thought after she killed Mo. Take the bike! Did LE ever say if KA’s DNA was found on that bike? And did neighbors catch video of KA fleeing on the bike? My mind is drawing a blank on that.

I’m dying to see the new nose! It’s so puzzling to me that Costa Rica has not released photos of her face! It’s like they showed only her backside on purpose. Why?

IMO, she could have offered yoga with a twist of hand-gun training on the side. Kind of a niche target audience.

It may be due to local laws. I know Mexico either photographs suspects from behind or blurs their face until they’ve been convicted, so maybe Costa Rica has a similar law.

I'd like to see those two combined with paddle boarding. Although aiming while meditating & balancing on Pacific waves might be too heady an experience for most....

LE has not yet released any information about DNA evidence or whether footage of the bicycle being removed from the scene exists.

CS lived with this woman 3 years and didn't know her!

I'm guessing they chased the passport. Maybe followed up on a missing/stolen passport from where she stayed w/her sister in NY? Or likely there are other ways to track female passports used that day she flew out against any missing/suspicious ones.

But did the article say she had two passports? Maybe one, under a name not yet revealed, was used to depart a US airport and the other (CA) would be used for future travel if the first passport was somehow comprimised.
It sounded like she used her sister's name, some other (as yet unknown) name, and then there was her own.
So, when she gave a name to LE, they couldn't find a record in the immigration database. In other words, she must have been using a name other than the one she came into the country with.
