Unless I am misreading something, I see mention of MW returning to her California home, but nothing suggesting that KA ever had one. JMO

My error. See my post #441. It takes its material from Inside Edition.
I am really not trying to be difficult, just trying to pin a few things down. The Inside Edition portion of your link makes no mention at all of KA ever having lived in California. If true, I would love to see that info from a MSM source, and dates would be a bonus. In a much earlier post, a poster claimed to have gone to school with her, and said that she grew up in the Detroit area, but AFAIK, the poster was never verified. JMO

Thanks, I’ll delete then. I assumed they wrote from that linked source. REALLY hard to find any good MSM articles

I saw that detail about Santa Monica in a DM story. Sounds like this info is attributed by the reporter to a friend of CS who goes by first name only in the article:
Born and raised in Livonia, Michigan, she moved to Santa Monica, California, in her twenties before relocating to Austin in 2017

The author byline includes a dateline of Lockhart, TX which was where the Wheelhouse business was headquartered.

Thank you! So according to this, she has only been in Texas about 5 years, after living in Michigan during her school years, and spending several years in California before ending up in Tx in 2017. If she has an accent, it is probably not a Texan accent. JMO

I've been thinking about the possibility of Kaitlin flying under another person's name. I haven't flown during the covid era. Must a traveler remove their mask when presenting their ID at airport security?

My post was deleted because of "no link to Ashey Banfield". But of course, the program was "Banfield".

I am reposting the link (it was in the post I quoted).

I believe that the options for fleeing the country discussed in the TV program are interesting, but considering that many countries still ask proof of vaccination/or PCR results, it should be factored into search. If KA was vaccinated, she, consider this, can potentially enter any country. If she has no proof of vaccination, she needs either pcr, or her way would lie to Mexico, that is open to US tourists. Canada - she can cross the border, but in Canada, Covid restrictions for US tourists are worse. So unless she slid under the radar and left already, the need to have fresh Covid PCR results may detain her.

Absolutely. But then, the border patrols has to look at you when you pull off the mask, and here lies the problem. My feeling is, they'd probably look at her if she resembles the woman on her photos, with lustrous hair (it seems she might have used some fillers at that time), but given her ability to mimicry, without cosmetic, she might look too average to register with them.

Another consideration: if she is not flying alone (and she may not be), they can easily miss her. Border patrol must be aware not only of "a single woman, 5'8", 125 lbs", but of her potentially being a part of the couple, or a group. This "group factor" is something I have observed - they look at the leader and maybe, a child, but not the rest. So if she doesn't speak and keeps low, she will pull off the mask, and be not registered as "that KA" with the border patrol. If you look at how she behaves in the airport, she is like a fly on the wall.

(Could CS travel abroad to take her out? Guilt, etc... Or, more likely, some old flame, a friend? Or some yoga group going to a retreat?)

Yep. You have to remove your mask and they compare you to your passport or DL.

I've flown internationally extensively, including in 2021 and 2022, and unless you're married, border patrol will make you approach the counter individually. There are no groups that approach the border patrol agent.

I guess I need to get out more.
I'm still puzzled over the whole travel thing. She flew on May 14th and the US Marshalls announced on May 25th that she was captured on video at the TX airport on the 14th. Did (a) it take them 10 days to check the passenger lists or (b) did she fly using false ID and it took ten days because matching faces (especially in the era of Covid) takes manpower?
My hunch is that she flew under a false ID and continued on to an international destination after landing in NYC. If she flew to Cleveland, I'd say she was in Ohio. But NYC is such an international hub which I think is why she chose it. Getting a false passport isn't an easy thing, but IF she planned this in advance by getting a gun in January, then she had sometime to get that in place. And I think LE knows she left the US, but of course has their own reasons for keeping that to themselves.
For my part, I took my road bike out today and kept out a careful eye for attractive female bicyclists. Did not see her ;)

Would you wear white jeans if had limited luggage and you were getting on an international flight to flee the country, to get to, say - Nepal?

  • #456
You have to scan your ID at security post-Covid (they used to do it for you), and the systems have gotten even more sophisticated (first article I found is about their arrival to Pittsburgh, but they're everywhere) StackPath

In searching, I cannot find a single case of someone caught flying under a false ID in the US. It's so hard to do with the current state of airport security that you can basically call it impossible.

Hmmm, I don't know. Do we have a reason to believe she went to Nepal?
And I'm assuming she checked her luggage.

Recent case below. I don't think KA printed it in her basement but there are cases of obtaining genuinely printed passports by providing your photo with a false set of ID documents.

I knew somebody would find one case to refute what I'm saying, but the above is identity theft that probably took quite a bit of time (it takes forever to get a passport anyway). That's a lot different than buying a back alley fake passport while on the run from a crime. Find a case of that happening if you want to argue that it's possible that KA got a fake ID to fly under.

Technology has radically changed identification. Short of having the help of an intelligence service, which I am confident KA did not and does not, there is no fake passport or even fake drivers license for domestic travel. This is all scanned and database cross-matched now.

I do think there’s a possibility she flew internationally from LGA and LE is reserving information about where she went, so as not to spook her from running again and give themselves time to work out an arrest and extradition. She spent some time abroad earlier in her life. If she spent any time in east Asia … Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam … that is a very solid potential destination for her. Extremely inexpensive, expat-friendly, bike/yoga culture with a lot of cash jobs.
