I was thinking of the Jennair Gerardot murder suicide (she stalked and killed her husband’s new girlfriend) and how she texted him right before, “I hope you never find happiness”. Maybe there’s an element of that here because in this case, the man left behind though not a suspect of course is indeed going to pay a reputational price going forward within his sport. But then again, maybe KA actually really thought she could just go home after killing her rival and resume life with CS and could get away with this, which seems nuts? She was a top suspect within a day for the APD.

Wonder if CS was kind of scared of KA. It seems weird he would bother pulling over on his motorcycle to text her when he was so close to home (7 minutes) (from affidavit):

Strickland advised he stopped his motorcycle and sent a text message fiom his phone to Armstrong at 8:36 PM. This text message stated the following:
"Hey! Are you out? I went to drop some flowers for Alison at her sons house up north and my phone died. Heading home unless you have another food suggestion"
Strickland had lied about his whereabouts to Armstrong to hide he was with Wilson throughout the evening.
Strickland advised he rode his motorcycle home and arrived at approximately 8:43 PM. Strickland advised he sent another text message to Armstrong around this time and recalled being nearby his residence when he sent it. Strickland went into the garage and began working on his bicycles to prepare for an upcoming race. While in the garage, Strickland sent another text message to Armstrong at 9:21 PM.
I am female and have been cheated on. From my experience, I would say he stopped his bike and emailed KA before reaching home as a test. He wanted to see if he had been found out and was in trouble. He was testing the water and it's easier to lie when texting than face to face. The nonchalant way he asks her if she is out, is to establish his alibi in case she is at home wondering where he is. So he can get in first. Saying his phone died is a pre-emptive cover story in case she has tried to contact him. The food suggestion is also overkill - he had apparently already eaten with MW but in his version of events he won't have eaten so he is trying to make his story plausible. Plus, he can offer to take her to dinner or bring some food home to get in her good books.

The attendant who scans my ticket always looks at me when she scans it before I enter the terminal to board the plane. So, it would have to be a female, IMO, to be able to pull this off.

JMO.
Amazingly enough a picture of you does not pop up on the screen in front of the gate agent on the major airlines, with one sole exception that I know of (if you’re flying to Tel Aviv on United). Isn’t that wild? Doesn’t that seem like kinda an obvious gap in security? But it’s for real. Next time you scan in and are about to enter the jetway, peek back over your shoulder at the screen and watch the next guy.

That’s not good. I suppose he was scared, but….
Hold on while I put down my iPad to go reinforce to my sweet preteen daughters to
never,
never ever,
no matter what,
even if they know nothing,
even if they know less than nothing,
even if they are as pure as fresh snow and a candidate for sainthood,
even if they don’t walk, they float on a cloud,
NEVER agree to questioning by police without a lawyer.
NEVER answer a single question unless someone’s life is in immediate present danger.
CALL YOUR MOTHER and we will get you a lawyer and then sit patiently and say absolutely nothing until we show up.

I say this as a woman who respects both law enforcement and attorneys immensely;
let the system work as it is designed.

Based on this ( lying to KA, lying to LE) I would believe CS was lying to MW, too.

He reads to me as a fairly typical 25-39yo male with a big-ego athletic pursuit who isn’t dreaming of family and corporate job. He liked having his cake and eating it. He never proposed to his 35yo live-in girlfriend who was administratively organizing his life. He picked up M on his BMW motorcycle and tried to convince the girlfriend after he was dropping off flowers (ever try to motorcycle with a bouquet? ;)).

Maybe this is because I have a circle of friends and history a lot like M’s (different sport but similar profile of academically successful Ivy grads and self-perceived rock stars) - but I know DOZENS of men who lived their 20s like this, multiple women, usually two or three at a time, always a main sacrificing syncophant at the house without a ring and the captivating two or three rotating side pieces. I’m not making excuses for this guy. I am saying he’s not rare. He was just out for his own cake and he never stopped eating it.
I agree, I could not put it into words but you did, this profiles CS really well. AMOO

Does anyone expect US Marshals or FBI to locate and apprehend KA any time soon?

Honestly, no. She's going to have to slip up, like Casey/Vicky White. Given that she blends in a lot easier than those two and there's far less media coverage of this case, it may take awhile.

I don't. She looks like she could blend in really easily. I don't think they've even offered a reward which surprises me. That could get someone off the fence if they are suspicious. Plus they seem to be several days behind her.

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of. I really want to see justice for MW and her family, but it looks like KA has slipped away. Maybe not even in the US anymore…

Why do you think there hasn’t been a reward offered, even from a cycling group?

I don't know. They must spend so much on these investigations that $10k or so wouldn't even make a ripple. My worry, probably unfounded, is that they know she skipped the country so they don't want people looking if there's no chance of spotting her.

Sometimes when you are REALLY good at something, ie: supersmart, great at dealing with others, well liked AND you are a female. Men will find ways to take your power to discredit you, just a thought!

They will find her. It might take a while. She was a mortgage originator at several firms over the span of many years. Had any been based in NY or NJ, she would be printed as part of LiveScan. This could be true of other states. I think we have her prints, I think LE has her phone records. She’s very bright and probably decamped off the grid either domestically or [on a beach] internationally, but she only needs one mistake, and LE has held this one so close that I hope they’re tightening the net. Watch the Bourne movies for entertainment in the meanwhile. Wasn’t Matt Damon’s identityless GF manning a dive shop there for a minute?

seems like a lot of people are on the run these days from the vicky white to the Texas prisoner last week now this gal.

What would he be scared of though?...Was it public knowledge MW was dead at 9:20 AM the next morning?

Readers intrigued by seemingly normal women who are alleged to have performed nefarious acts in pursuit of bad boys. This is also the premise of easily half of all regency historical romance novels ever written, and they sell like hotcakes on Amazon. It calls out to some wild repressed rebel streak inside some of us.

p.s. some of the men who love these women also feel an invisible string pulling at them. lot of incarcerated men in the world who fantasize about a respected guard lady helping them escape, delighting in a few days in bed and then her going Thelma & Louise and sacrificing herself for love before he heads back to jail unconcerned about her potential future testimony.

This is wild. I went to high school with Kaitlin in Michigan. She talked to a mutual friend just a couple weeks ago (right before this happened apparently)
Whoa... did your friend speak to LE or notice anything unusual about the conversation?

But also, it tells me that: 1) KA is very jealous
2) chances are, he has already cheated on her and was found, so he has developed a “cheating routine”.

Interesting. I was looking at her and thinking that while KA is likely Caucasian, with a little bit of fillers, it would be very easy for her to pass for a Eurasian. But, sadly, she is taking herself wherever she goes, and in many ways, it is better to be arrested and incarcerated here in the US, than in Thailand.
I feel very sorry for Mo, who, unknowingly, crossed paths with a cheater and a pathologically jealous woman. Now, sport aside, to die at 25, and for whom? So sad. RIP, Mo.
Her killer also ruined own life and whatever future she had. Even if she is never caught, and I think she will be.

Oh, good point. I assumed he denied knowing her, knowing she’d been murdered. Why did CS go to the police station to be questioned, if her death wasn’t yet known to him? What did he think they were being questioned about?
