I’ve always wondered, after the police and US Marshals had initially said they believed she had remained in the Austin area:

1. Why they believed that as late as 5/24. Strange too that they had video of her urgently knocking on a neighbor’s door.

2. How they suddenly discovered the La Guardia NYC airport footage on 5/25

Two things in that article jump out at me. First the US Marshals basically saying "don't blame us, we just got here":

"Another thing Filla said investigators have working against them was the time between the homicide, May 11, and when U.S. Marshals were called in to help with the search, May 17 when the arrest warrant was issued. ...And at some point..... she knew that these investigators with The Austin Police police department would eventually get a warrant”

And second that she was likely in the Austin area due to her local ties as a yoga teacher and real estate agent. As if she was sticking around in case somebody needed an emergency yoga class. Or that she would put her name on a sign on someone's front lawn saying "Come see me at the Open House Sunday 2-4pm. Law Enforcement not welcome"

Maybe that was the first poor attempt at mis-direction from LE to put her at ease.

I actually am wondering if the Marshalls found out about her flight from AIB Airport because they found her Jeep parked in a lot there, or conversely, if they found her Jeep there because they somehow learned that she had taken a flight from there. Yes, when the Jeep was last mentioned, LE claimed they still had not found it, but that may not have been true then, or it may not be true now, just as them claiming they lost KA's footprint when she arrived at LaGuardia, may or may not be true. They are under no obligation to be truthful in public statements. Perhaps their statements were made in an effort to get information or disinformation to her, moreso than to get anything to us JMO

That’s a good point.
ETA:
What would be the point, though, of asking her to surrender, while telling her they are closing in? Some think that makes them look desperate and as if they don’t have any idea where she might be.

I’m also wondering about the possibility that she may have already taken her own life, as Brian Laundrie did. If it was in a hotel of course she would already have been found— but what if she went to a wooded area somewhere? I hope not.

But after losing CS and the cycling world, her home and properties, being wanted for murder and for unlawful flight from justice—why would she want a life of working on the run, unable to use her own name or bank cards, etc. ??

I wonder what the psychological profile is in a situation like this. For example, would it be more likely that KA would have taken her own life within 24 hours of the murder, or when she knew she was a suspect after the interview with LE, or is this something she might be likely to do after being on the run for several weeks. I wonder what the stats are and what an LE forensic psychologist would say about this.

She still appears to have the support of both her father and mother, so that might work against suicidal ideation? Just some thoughts on this.

I guess when you put it that way it sounds pretty dire. I guess I can see that as a possibility if she's still in the US. But if she left the country, she might just have enough self confidence to start fresh.

@Sundog @Spider92

Good thoughts. I don’t know the statistics, but:

If you compare KA to Brian Laundrie (because he also went on the run after committing a murder) you can see that:

-He murdered, but didn’t immediately kill himself.
-He drove all the way back to Florida.
-He had basic support from his parents, who got him an attorney
- He was photographed smiling on a camping trip with family.

And yet he couldn’t run from the murder and the punishment he was facing. He had a gun and shot himself. So it’s not a stretch to envision similar for KA. I hope not, but could this be why they can’t find her? —- just like they couldn’t find Brian Laundrie?

Thanks for noting the door knocking - that’s new to me. From a KXAN article linked above dated May 24:
Filla said they’ve only received a handful of tips but they are reviewing one: A video from a neighbor who says it shows Armstrong knocking on his door shortly after she was questioned by police.
“You can see [in the video] that she, you know, she has an urgency. It’s an emergency to her. And, you know, she’s trying to use someone’s telephone to call someone else,” Filla described.

I don’t want to second guess the investigators too much, but it is too bad they couldn’t get more ducks in a row for an arrest warrant before she was called in and gained the knowledge they had her vehicle on camera. She might have taken off anyway of course — but that info above about her freak out after police questioned her makes me think ugh…if she just could have been kept in the dark a bit more or even misdirected that she wasn’t the prime suspect.

Things really seem to have gone quiet on this. It’s coming up on a month since the murder.

Moo..thing is Brian Laundrie killed someone he cared about, KA did not...so no heartbreak. KA can reinvente herself. Who gets to control her businesses now?

She can reinvent herself, and yet….

In former times, before the creation of the internet and digital technology and the global community, if you got out of the US, you were basically home free.

But in the 21st century, with INTERPOL and the tracking of your cell phone, cards, and digital footprint, it’s supposed to be different.

You can be tracked and apprehended whether in NYC, Europe, or Indonesia. Distance makes no difference. Look how quickly the Canadian killer Luka Magnotta was caught and dragged back to Canada.

Something isn’t making sense here, or at least it seems to me…

How could she possibly have enough cash on her to not need to use any cards? And what about ID, proof of vaccination, etc.

I'm thinking that sophisticated criminals are able to move their liquid wealth via crypto currency. I don't know much about that but I'm pretty sure the IRS has been trying to play catch up on that issue and isn't there yet. They even ask on your tax return whether you have any transactions or gains from crypto currency which tells me they can't track it yet.
The vaccination cards I've seen look pretty easy to falsify - at least those in the US.. You make a good point about that though - who would have thought that a vaccination could be such a barrier for fleeing criminals?

Yeah, I forgot about the crypto currency. I hope Moriah gets some justice, and her family some closure— but it’s looking iffy. Very iffy….

If KA is still alive, I highly suspect she is reading along here to keep up.

Yes, so long as she’s aware of it…. I was just reading a true crime book on Kindle last night, and the detective would go on Websleuths to glean information.

Reading here with one eye, while keeping the other eye looking over her shoulder, to make sure LE aren't slipping up right behind her. That has to be a horrible way to live 24/7. The constant stress of being a fugitive on the run surely has to be weighing heavily on her by now, three weeks in, and it is just a matter of time before she either slips up or gives up. To me, she does not seem the type to commit suicide, but more the type who, when captured, will conjure up some story to make her out to be the victim who was provoked or forced to defend herself, and not the murderer that evidence suggests that she is. LE merely need to remain vigilant and wait her out at this point. I believe she will soon tire of the run, will make a mistake, and will be taken. JMO.

O/T, but I used to swear that NG or her staff used to get most of her "Bombshell tonight!" information for her show by reading here, because almost everything she reported was talked about here about two days earlier. Most of her "bombshells" were old duds to any of us following the case here. JMO
