Plus that woman had a phone in her pocket and a purse full of stuff. Will be curious to hear if KA's in regular clothes for her appearance today.

why does it feel so good to see her handcuffed and in that outfit... even better after her little yoga retreat smoking pot. This may make it more difficult for her to not hold HERSELF accountable for this, which is something I think she needs to face. JMO

This hearing is now getting started. Armstrong has been brought into the courtroom in a jail uniform and is standing at the judge's bench with her attorneys. They are seeking an arraignment and trial date setting.

NEW: Armstrong pleads NOT GUILTY and is requesting a jury trial.

Armstrong is exercising her right to a speedy trial. The court says the could set the trial for as early as Sept. or Oct. and her attorneys say they are ready to go to trial. Prosecutors say that is too soon because they have not received all the evidence in this case yet.

The State says Armstrong should not jump other cases waiting years during COVID to proceed. They ask if a speedy trial is granted for Armstrong to waive her right to effective counsel since her attorneys have not received all of the discovery yet.

I wonder why her and her legal team are so hung up on this whole "speedy trial" thing.

My theory is that there is damning evidence either on her phone or on a google account somewhere that they know apple/google will take ages to release the info even with a warrant.

You never know what will happen. The Murdaugh hearing that just happened this morning, no new news at all except they want everything pretty much sealed and a speedy trial.

May be the same with KA’s hearing.

Good take. My sense is that M’s family would prefer that, and for that reason i hope it happens.
