BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Brownsville mother was arrested after six children were found to be living in unsanitary conditions, police said.

Samantha Lee Abrego, 25, was arrested on six counts of child endangerment with criminal neglect, a second degree felony, according to a news release from the Brownsville Police Department.

That’s what worried me.. no mention of the age of her mother or her capabilities of looking after 6 young kids all between the ages of 2 and 8 as far as I’m aware. I have issues viewing some of the news websites as I’m in the uk but I done a quick search of her name and seen she’s been released on a $36,000 bond.

Police spokesperson investigator Abril Luna said Abrego’s six children range in age from two to eight. Officers who went to Abrego’s home located three more children — who apparently had dry feces caked on their faces, KRGV reported.

Police also noted that Abrego seemed “sluggish” as if she had just woken up.

Abrego was charged with child endangerment with criminal neglect. Her six children are reportedly in her mother’s care.

“Inside the apartment, there were stains of feces on the walls and couches,” the release stated. “Most of the children were nude and appeared to not have showered in a long time.”

The ages of the children range from two to eight, Luna added.
