Whilst searching homes around the area. At approx 2pm this afternoon police were notified of a 911 call to report screaming at a park. Police responded and immediately saw a man running through the field, the little girl saw the police and ran to them.

Very grateful to the person who heard the screams and called 911

BM is being checked out at the hospital. She is talking to officers and is in good health

The man has been detained but not sure at this time if he is a suspect, but he is a POI.

Nothing known about the man yet, if he is a RSO or has a record, (reporters asked) all the officer knows at this point is it was a 'man with a beard'

This is so terrible! I saw a few comments on SM that someone took her from her house when the story first broke but other people said she probably wandered away. Poor girl

They were in the process of going through the procedure to issue an AA

Police do not know at this point if the girl left the home on her own will. There is no information released on the person of interest at this time, except that he had a beard and was in the presence of M when they located her.

There was no visible injuries on the girl but she was taken to an area hospital to get checked out, police said.

Missing FW 6-year old is back home. Her uncle says she's surrounded by family, playing with her dolls.

Saturday afternoon police received a call from a resident who lives by Tidus Park near the child's home. The caller reported hearing screams from a thicketed area near the park.


"We owe a great debt to the citizen who acutally heard the screams and notified us to go into that field area," said Fort Worth Police Capt. Deven Pitt.
Fort Worth police completed a search and upon entering the wooded area saw a man with the missing child. He began to run and the child ran toward police.
"He hid from officers. There wasn't much of an area for him to run back there," Pitt said. "She was very scared. She was very nervous. She obviously didn't get to where she was by herself."


That man has been detained, but his identity has not been released. Police say he is not a suspect, but is a person of interest.

"Right now, he's just being interviewed to find out what kind of involvement he had in this," Pitt said. "All we know is that he was in the presence of a child that he had no business being around at this point

Late Saturday, Martinez's father told NBC DFW that his daughter had not been abused while on missing and he is glad to have her home.

Man arrested for kidnapping 6-year-old was in country illegally

FORT WORTH - Police have arrested a man for kidnapping a 6-year-old Fort Worth girl who went missing over the weekend.

The girl was apparently taken from her family’s home on the 3500 block of Avenue K early Saturday morning. She was found hours later at a nearby park after a citizen reported hearing a child screaming.

Police found a “person of interest” in the wooded area of the park Saturday. After an investigation into the incident, Moya Alas was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping.

An interview with Immigration Customs Enforcement revealed that Alas is an illegal immigrant. An immigration detainer was placed on Alas, and he has been booked into jail “without further incident,” police said.
