“A Texas mother and her two young daughters who vanished Wednesday on their way to a play date have been found dead, police have revealed.

The bodies of Natalie Chambers, 31, and her daughters Isabel, 4, and Elise, 2, were tragically found by police just after 10am Thursday inside a blue 2008 Ford Escape in the Farmers Branch, Dallas.

The Kauffman County Sheriff's Office has not yet confirmed how the mother and her children died, or what led to their disappearance.”

All three were found dead in Natalie’s car, but no COD has been released yet.

How very tragic...
If there are no signs of injury or foul play.....I wonder about CO poisoning. 12 year old car, malfunction of or defective exhaust system. It can happen....clogged tailpipe, poorly tuned car engine etc.

I wonder if when located, all the windows were closed.

According to family, Natalie Chambers and her two daughters, Izabel and Elise, left their Forney-area home around 8 a.m. today with plans to see a friend for a park play date in Grapevine, Texas. They have not been heard from or seen since, family members say.

Chambers last known location was in the area of 635 and Midway until approximately 1 p.m., according to family. A previously reported ping of her cell phone in the Combine area was an error in her cell phone records. Investigators were working to subpoena cell records for additional information.

I agree because leaving for a play date at 8am seems a little off to me. What a tragedy.

Forney is about 45 minutes or so from Grapevine, so them leaving at 8 am doesn't strike me as too odd. With traffic it could be quite a bit longer. One of the routes she could have taken would have been 635 so it's not as though where the vehicle was located is that far off of a possible route.

As someone who lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, I logged on to post exactly this.

Forney is a small city directly east of Dallas, and the most direct route to Grapevine, a slightly larger suburb located in the center of the DFW Metroplex, would be to take LBJ Freeway (Loop 635). The Midway Rd. exit where her van was found is the last exit as you are leaving Dallas and entering Farmer’s Branch and Carrollton. It is wall-to-wall business at that intersection... gas stations, fast food restaurants, retail, and even some office buildings.

What I find curious about where her vehicle was located is that it is well over halfway into her journey to Grapevine. Depending on traffic and where exactly in Grapevine the play date was, she was likely only about 15 minutes from her destination. If she intended to do self-harm or she had plotted a murder-suicide, it seems so random that she would pick that intersection of all places to carry it out. I mean, why drive all that way from Forney to end it all? If the goal was to be away from her house/neighborhood, surely she could have picked somewhere a little closer? And why somewhere along the actual route to the play date? If she planned her suicide ahead of time, then the play date was just a ruse. Why bother selecting a spot to end it all along the route to Grapevine?

To me, it seems like she either actually intended on going to the play date and then somewhere along her drive decided she was going to harm herself and her kids, or she met with foul play in that parking lot.

If this wasn’t a case of murder/suicide, then the reports that she had suffered a recent injury and had been in a lot of pain could point toward another explanation of why she and her kids were found where they were. Maybe she had gotten hooked on pain meds or other drugs to help cope with the pain, and she was meeting someone in that parking lot to buy them (drug deal gone bad)?

It seems highly unlikely that abduction/murder is the case here, given that they were found miles away along the route to the play date. Had a stranger carjacked/abducted her closer to Forney, he wouldn’t have known about her plans to drive all the way to Grapevine, nor would he have bothered to drive her most of the way there to kill her.

I think it’s telling that authorities haven’t released cause of death for the mother and children or really any other information other than that their bodies were located in that parking lot. Even a drug deal (or other interaction) gone bad, my second guess, would likely have resulted in the authorities releasing something to that effect.

I may be way off base but this case reminded me of this from Colorado. IMO only.

Father speaks out after losing wife, 2 boys

Oh my heart....the CO case is so tragic, and illustrates how devastating mental illness can be. The pain the afflicted person is in must be so overwhelming. We all must learn how to help people who through no fault of their own find themselves in such a hopeless state. This may turn out to be a similarly tragic case. The pandemic is taking such a toll on physical and emotional health. It is a conflict to know what outcome to hope for here. Neither choice - that it may be self-harm OR foul play - is anything we can wish for. It is truly heartbreaking for their loved ones, and for all of humanity.

An early morning play date doesn’t surprise me for how hot things are in TX. Mornings are about all that’s tolerable and even that’s iffy for us transplants from the north.
IMOO- maybe she was taking some type of pain pill for her pain, got sleepy on the drive, pulled over and fell asleep. If the car ran out of gas or she turned off the engine I think it’s hot enough in North Texas even in the morning to bake someone if the windows are up.
This is how many minutes it takes for a hot car to become a death sentence

Just my speculation only. Autopsy should be telling.

From Police probe mysterious deaths of mother, young daughters found dead in SUV; friend says Natalie Chambers had recently been injured: Report

Farmers Branch Police Department Officer Steve Rutherford told Fox News that the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office had advised police to search along the route Chambers was believed to have been traveling, based on concerns communicated by family members.

Bless those LE who found the car with these precious children and their mom. It is no doubt a lifelong trauma to have seen that scene, after searching and hoping against hope to find them all ok.

Sounds like the windows WERE all closed when found.
According to the report, a worker had seen the vehicle before the discovery of the bodies, but did not notice anything amiss.

“To be honest with you, we didn’t see anything wrong, or gunshots or anything like that, nothing unusual … The windows were rolled up. We didn’t notice there was someone inside or anything. We didn’t see anything suspicious around the car,” Amado Silva reportedly said.
