GUILTY TX - Noted sniper Chris Kyle & Chad Littlefield slain at Erath County gun range

I think the murders have more to do with the fact the killer wanted the nice black truck and "sold his soul" for it as he first told his family. All the other reasons for the murder came later. He killed them for the truck, he kept the truck as long as he could. He probably was on drugs, thinking he could get away with it.

Mr DD's fire station is taking their ladder truck to one of the I-35 overpasses this morning, to have lights and a siren go off as the funeral procession heads south on I-35. It's supposed to pass through our city between 9-10am.

It's raining right now. I hope it clears up soon, so that maybe more people will line the roads.

Mr DD said he'd try to take a photo from the overpass, if he gets a chance. I'll try to post it here tonight if he does get one.

RIP Chris Kyle.

The man accused of killing former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and another man has not been indicted within 90 days as Texas law requires.
Eddie Routh, a former Marine, was arrested in the slayings of Kyle and Chad Littlefield more than three months ago.
The timing is key, because Texas law says defendants are entitled to a speedy trial and could be released from jail on reduced bond or no bond if they are not formally charged within 90 days.

OMG!!!

What is there to investigate for over 3 months? They are not making any sense.

Ex-Marine Indicted in Slaying of Former Navy SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle

Eddie Routh, a former Marine, was arrested in the slayings of Kyle and Chad Littlefield in February.

A judge has issued a gag order in the case.

The Feb. 2 shootings at a gun range in rural North Texas were national news.

Why was Routh not indicted for BOTH murders???? I know someone related to the Littlefield family & the indictment only applied to the killing of Chris Kyle. Seems a bit unfair to me that Routh was not indicted for both.

He was.
From the article:

A grand jury in North Texas has indicted the man accused of killing former Navy SEAL and "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle and another man on two charges of capital murder.

A pre-trial hearing was held, Friday, March 7, 2014 for Eddie Ray Routh. Defense attorneys are asking that Routh's confession be thrown out & also announced plans to plead an insanity defense. The trial is scheduled for May 5, 2014.

IMO, Routh needs to be locked up for the rest of his life. He may or may not be insane, but he will always be a danger to others regardless. If he is actually insane, it's not the kind of insane that can be treated. If he's not insane he is just total EVIL!

Just heard on WFAA CH 8 news at 6 pm that Eddie Ray Routh has rejected a plea bargain. No link yet, but there should be one shortly.

Sorry, still no link to post about rejection of the plea bargain. I DO know what I heard on TV. I guess there are so many other criminal things going on here right now that this one just slipped through the cracks.

I am following this case very closely & will post when I hear more.

Sounds like an interesting trial coming up. Maybe the Lamestream media will cover it to try to make Kyle look like a piker or put him in a bad light.

I'm going to follow this one very closely. Actually, I'm a bit worried. The defense lawyer is going to try every trick in the books to get Routh declared insane. The man may be insane, I don't know, but even if he is, he needs to be locked up for life. Insanity like that can't be cured. If he ever got out of a mental hospital he will only kill more people.

I think Routh killed Chris for the fame or the infamey... just my opinion.

I don't think Chris and Chad fully realized how unstable Eddie Routh was. Or perhaps they were and thought it'd be ok to go to the gun range.

He had been admitted to a psychiatric hospital twice in a few months and was released 2 days prior to the murder. Released against the wishes of his family because they were concerned about his mental state. One of his battle buddies had come to the home Routh shared with his Mother and removed all the weapons- due to concerns about Rouths mental state.

This was a tragedy and I feel for all the families.

I say this with all respect. IMO you have the correct attitude about this situation. Personally, I can't quite get there. My sympathy goes out to the Kyle & Littlefield families. I just don't find it in my heart to feel any sympathy for Eddie Ray Routh. He had a choice & he chose the wrong solution.
