State calls TCSO Deputy Greg Weiss to stand to testify. Said he found "cryptic message" in #BrandonDaniel's cell.

Found a small piece of paper that appeared to be a cryptic message.

Letter to his mother, explaining how to decrypt further messages.

Defendant was planning on sending letter to mom thru his attorney.

I know..legally it is not, but seems like the jury is supposed to feel sorry for a defendant because of drugs, abuse, another person. So as a result, we get a lower count for a verdict or reluctance to put someone to death.

As compromised as BD may have been because of the booze/drugs he took that day and evening, it wasn't any drug or hooch (hehehe) that cocked his gun for him and made sure he had ammo ready to kill. He is an adult and made these choices and he took another person's life because of it. IMO if he did suffer from any mental disorder it did not rise to the level where I see him as criminally insane.

Weiss said encrypted message found in #BrandonDaniel's cell said "I love you mom."

Um... So BD wrote his mother a letter explaining how to read his code! :waitasec:

Another jailer said Daniel left behind what appeared to be a "cryptic message." Along with it was a letter to his mother.

The letter to his mother explained how to decrypt the letter and others that may follow. Decrypted, it said "I love you, Mom."

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

The CIA is not knocking at his door.

I see what you are saying. I'm hoping that won't be the case here. To me, if there was ever a case that warranted the DP, this is it. I hope the jury sees it the same way.

His defense, IMO, is ridiculous. It's as if he got drunk and killed someone while behind the wheel. It isn't ok. :twocents:

It was based on the Ovaltine Secret decoder system. Only less complicated than that.

You have my sympathies..

I'd rather have Mike Tyson bite off my ears then listen to anything that little killer had to say.

State calls DPS trooper Charles Hoover to stand to testify in #BrandonDaniel #DanielTrial

  • #636
It would appear that BD liked drugs, craigslist, and getting in trouble with the police.

Chris Sadeghi @chrissadeghi
Trooper Charles Hoover with DPS is now on stand. Will testify about arresting Daniel for marijuana on I-27 between Lubbock and Amarillo.

Why isn't that officer making BD take his hands out of his pockets?

I was just thinking the same thing! Another one lucky to be alive! And he let him reach into the car!
