Missing Person Case

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Several detectives from the Abilene Police Department (APD) conducted a search of a home in south Abilene as part of a missing person investigation Thursday evening.

Detectives arrived on scene Thursday afternoon in the 1700 block of South 17th Street, conducting a search for at least five hours, according to APD Sgt. Mike Mochetto.

The search of the home was the result of a follow up investigation into the missing persons case of Patricia Smith Ford, according to Mochetto.

A neighbor told us police were tearing up floorboards in the home.

Detectives coming out of the home appeared to be hot and sweaty, and one of the detectives was seen throwing away white "moon" suits that are commonly worn by investigators to keep them from contaminating crime scenes.
Moschetto said they "located some items of interest" inside of the home before they left at about 8:40 p.m.

Moschetto also said that there have been "allegations of foul play" in Ford's case, but that it would be "premature" to say whether or not they think that she may not be alive.

Maybe they are searching a "family" members home.

ABILENE, Texas —

Do not expect any updates Friday from Abilene police about new leads in a nearly two year old missing persons case.

Friday morning, the department tweeted a message to the media saying "APD will not be releasing any other info. on last nights investigation involving the search of a home for missing person Patricia Ford."

Ford has been missing since September 9, 2016.

She has a scar on the outside of her right thigh and the following tattoos:

Were there an news on the remains identification?

Nothing in News since July 5th. I think it may take a long time to ID the remains based on reports that it was only fragments. Here's another article from July 5th:

According to court documents, Carol Rolin called Abilene police on Tuesday and said that Timothy Dwelle told her that he had killed her mother, Patricia Ford, with a cleaver.
Rolin recorded her conversation with Dwelle and turned it over to police.
According to court documents, Dwelle also told Rolin that “he made a notch in the rocking chair” that Ford was sitting in “when he hit her” with the cleaver.
Crime scene photos show a notch in the frame of that particular rocking chair.
Victim's daughter: Abilene murder suspect told me he killed mom with cleaver

  :(

It goes on to say they only found some bones from a human foot under the house. I think we could change the title to presumed located? But it will probably be several months before the DNA comes back. And what if the suspect has killed someone else? And if the foot bones turn out to be hers, where is the rest of Patricia? Probably need to wait for the results... JMO. Her poor daughter. :(

Hi Jeanie, I'm so sorry for your loss of your grandma. I hope you will see justice done and that the man who did this never gets out of prison. I can't begin to understand how you are hurting right now but I hope you have someone to talk about this with. Hold onto the good memories you have. Write them all out (in a private journal, not online) while you can remember them. Time goes by fast and someday you might only remember the bad. Praying for you and your family.
