Sounds like her sister tried contacting her sergeant within 8 or 9 hours.

Mayra Guillen said the last text conversation she had with her sister was the night before she disappeared. The pair talked about Vanessa’s plans to buy a new car, she said.

However, Mayra Guillen suspected something was wrong the next day when her sister’s boyfriend said she was not answering texts or phone calls.

“As soon as I saw the clock strike 9 p.m. I knew she wouldn’t be working from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.,” she said. “That’s when I started getting in touch with her sergeant.”

How long was she missing before they started announcing it?
IMO her sister contacted her Sergeant at 2100 military time 9pm cillivan time the same day she was last seen by whom or cctv not sure.
4-20 is her missing date on flyer. I think her sister and BF sounded the alarms pretty quick.

The missing date on that flyer is wrong.

Been reading about this case for the first time and just wondering if this part could be the key to what happened to her.

"The pair talked about Vanessa’s plans to buy a new car, she said."

Maybe she went to the parking lot to look at a car that someone advertised for sale. That person may have taken her against her will.

Time to try to sleuth any classified advertisements. And if anyone knows if the military at Fort Hood had their own private "for sale" listings where the military people there could sell things to each other. Maybe there is a private listing for a vehicle in a place that we could not see unless we had the same access that the military does to view it.

Even if we find advertisements the problem we will have is unless we know the type of vehicle she was talking about with the sister, then we wont be able to even narrow down any for sale car listings we spot.

The only way I can think of is if the listing got pulled the day after she disappears. That would be one clue we may be able to look at.

Good morning everyone. To answer questions - I have never seeing people running in those woods. Lots of that land is closed for other reasons and no one is allowed. Soldiers normally can be seen beyond the gate with all their heavy backpacks and gear walking along the road. The woods are mostly populated by cows that roam free everywhere. Soldiers do usually run on base along roads. But now a lot of personnel work from home so Base looks very empty. In usual days around 1 pm is very crowded - lunch time - so I guess it worked well for a perp that it was nobody around... :((

The closest town to Fort Hood is Killeen. Bad place. Especially areas adjacent to Base are pretty horrid. I heard it took first place in homicides per capita in the US. If Vanessa indeed met with someone to look at a car...anything could happen...

It is a lead anyway. Civilians can't access Ft. hood without special permission. So cars for sale owned by Military, DoD civilians and video of cars going in and out of Ft. Hood could provide a nexus.
Though if she planned in advance to test drive I think she would have had her wallet and be either in uniform or in regular street clothes.
Unfortunately MOO it sounds like a crime of predatory opportunity.

I believe civilian Visitors are not currently being allowed on base due COVID-19. So yah if she was meeting someone on base it would likely be another military personnel

I don’t think she would have gone to Killeen to look at a car without her ID to get back on base.

Ahhhh, it saddens me to hear that about Killeen. Granted i lived there 30 years ago, and had a wonderful experience.

And how would she have gotten there? If she left the base she likely left in someone else’s vehicle and likely with that person as well. Jmo

I thought I'd seen earlier that the gates aren't currently checking ID, or much of any thing.

Yes. I saw something as well. I think it said that they are using electronic readers maybe?

Fort Hood reports the most sexual assaults of any Army post

Not good... this article is from 2017, but it likely hasn't fundamentally changed. There are bunch of recent articles on same subject. :(

The two military bases that are the largest had the most sexual assaults. It honestly doesn’t surprise me, you have a bunch of individuals condensed into a relatively confined area. Unfortunately those things are going to happen. There’s nothing in that article that conclusively proves that fort hood is worse than anywhere else imo. It’s a very skewed article

Here is my question, housing per say. If the scenario played out like this.. She either finished, or was doing a lunch time run since she is a workout buff, could someone pick her up, take her to a housing unit located on base undetected without check points? Im trying to deduce the easiest means by the perp.

By the way, thank you so much for everyone that served or is currently serving in our Armed Forces! Thank you for your sacrifice! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

@MassGuy if she was going for a run, do you think it would be common for her to leave her stuff in the armory room bc she planned on coming back?

Comments on the III Corp page made that sound highly unlikely to empty pockets? But it would be more unlikely for her to run with that stuff.

i await your thoughts!
