'All we want is her with us': Search continues week after soldier's disappearance

SABBM:

Vanessa's family hopes someone comes forward with any information leading to her safe return.

"At this point, just hopes someone comes with a concrete answer, they can tell us something...anything...something concrete. There has to be something," Mayra said.

<snip>

Texas EquuSearch, a search and rescue organization, tells KWTX they have been in contact with the family. They are waiting on law enforcement on whether or not they would be needed in the search.
_______________

I honestly don't know whether Army CID would invite TES to assist with the search efforts…anyone else know if that's ever happened before, i.e., the military asking TES to help conduct searches?

I have seen where they have helped search for missing veterans but I believe that was at the invitation of Veterans affairs/civilian law enforcement.

I highly doubt that Army CID would allow that type of involvement, at least not on base and under their direction

I think if they were to become involved it would be in coordination with Civilian LE

Houston family of missing Fort Hood soldier desperate for answers

SABBM:

"She was talking about college. She was talking about getting married. She was talking about my parent's wedding," Mayra said.

While she seemed happy to finally getting back closer to home, but something seemed off as of late.

"She didn't give an exact reason why," Mayra said. "I don't know if it's the people there. I don't know if it's the environment. I honestly don't know."

Well, this flies in the face of earlier statements I've read in MSM that the sister said VG was "happier than ever" and that "everything was completely fine" that morning when she spoke with her bf on the phone.

In what way did things seem "off" with VG?

I remember reading a tweet VG made a while back re: how she hated her anxiety, or something along those lines.

Has this been linked?

'Please help us find her': Houston soldier missing from Fort Hood post

It mentions that another female soldier was found dead a year ago 3/29. CID was investigating and did not rule out foul play but no update since last year. This may or may not be connected.

Her sister felt the
BBM:

Wait a second.
Hold up.
Stop the bus.

This timeline is all kinds of screwy.

So, the bf is contacting VG's sister around noon b/c her iPhone messages weren't being read? And he'd just spoken with her that morning?

LE has stated that VG was last seen at 1pm in the parking lot by her barracks.

This would mean that the bf's messages were being ignored well before the time she was last seen.

This isn't adding up.

JMO.

Also. Sisters hinky meter went about the last message from Vanessa of going to work at 9am.
I haven't seen a time on that last message.

Has anyone attempted a timeline yet? I've updated her media thread with all your MSM links - Thanks all

Reward offered for information about missing Soldier

SABBM:

QUANTICO, Virginia — The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for credible information leading to the whereabouts of missing Fort Hood Soldier, Pfc. Vanessa Guillen.
<snip>

The payout of cash rewards to military and federal employees for information leading to her whereabouts or conviction of persons involved is contingent upon their actions regarding the information provided.
________________________

I attached this brief article from the Fort Hood Sentinel because it's the first time I've seen the bolded caveat to the announcement of a reward.

It looks like the military wants to be clear in letting people within their ranks know that they shouldn't expect to be rewarded if it turns out that the reason they have information is because they were somehow complicit in VG's disappearance, be it before, during, or after the fact.

Or maybe it's indicating that people will be eligible for the reward only if they come forward with their info voluntarily, versus coughing it up only after being hauled in by CID for questioning.

It is a little unusual to me how quick the alarm was raised by BF and then the sister. Maybe they both had daily interactions with her which made it unusual to them when they could not get ahold of her.

For me and my wife, we joke here that we could die in our home and nobody from our families would know or care until about a month or two from not hearing from us. Or maybe even longer. :)

3 out of 4 of our parents are no longer alive, and we just dont have that much interaction with our siblings like others may with their family members.

That is why it is so surprising to me how quick they raised the alarm. It was just hours and they started to get concerned.

Right????

And it was a work day…VG was reportedly AT WORK that morning.

I don't understand the timeline at all vis a vis the alarm bells starting to go off with the bf.

There's something about those comms w/ her bf we don't know yet.

I'm convinced there's a specific reason that he became concerned so quickly.

There's another shoe dangling somewhere, just waiting to drop.

Make that a boot.

I don't have a good feeling about this either - I am afraid she met with foul play on the base and is either hidden there somewhere (doubtful IMO) or she was taken off base...

I also think there is a reason the alarm was raised so quickly (@Hatfield) - something just isn't right here...

I also feel this way too. I'm wondering if the sister has more information that she's not telling the public. I mean It's such a short time before they sounded the alarm to her command between her not answering texts from her or her boyfriend. Something must have alerted her to think something was VERY wrong for her to be so quick on this.

The narrative went from being "everything seemed just fine," to "it's a big concern we haven't heard from Vanessa."

There was something else going on, here. Speculation again, but I think Vanessa was being stalked or harassed or receiving some sort of unwanted attention from someone on that base. I think her sister and her b/f knew about it and that's why the alarm was raised so quickly.

Also, that base is so huge! I had no idea. And so much rugged terrain.

I'm very frightened for this young woman.

I definitely think something happened, however it’s not doubtful to me that she could have had something happened and then have the person responsible dispose of her on base. That base is huge. If you wanted to hide a body never to be found, there’s no issue with that. It is the largest, active duty military base in the United States.

Based on my own family dynamics, the timing of the growing concern and subsequent reporting made perfect sense. Every family/relationship is different in regards to how frequently they check in. Moo.

It is true. Many people have noted that young people have their noses in their phones all the time.
Turns out almost all of them are in constant contact with their family and close friends.
So almost like being in person, a change in behavior is noted immediately.
Sister was probably waiting to ask:
"Why did you text me that you were going to work at 9?"

Also, 9 am is seems like a late start as if she had an appointment arranged and permission to be late in advance with her sergeant or supervisor.
PT Shower Breakfast Formation start Work at 7:30 or 8 seems more normal.

...snipped by me for focus...

Also, that base is so huge! I had no idea. And so much rugged terrain.

I had no idea how large Fort Hood was either @ 214,000 acres. Wow. That complicates things for sure.

Below in the first link is ranking the top 5 bases in the world according to population size. The acreage is also listed and it is very huge at 214,000 acres.

The 2nd link lists Fort Hood as 339 square miles which is closely equivalent to 214,000 acres.

To think about it another way which may be easier to understand is if you had square shaped land with 18 miles on each side of the square. Because 18 X 18 = 324 square miles.

Rank...Base...Population...Area:
1. Fort Bragg.....260,000.....160,640 acres
2. Fort Campbell.....234,900.....102,414 acres
3. Fort Hood.....217,000.....214,000 acres
4. Joint Base Lewis-McChord.....210,000.....410,000 acres
5. Fort Benning.....107,627.....182,000 acres
