Hi Everyone, I know people keep saying if we're asking to many question's to let you know.No one has been asking to many questions or have been insensitive to our family. You all have been great. You are asking questions we are asking.Any thing you ask that I can answer I have been trying to.I know we all have so many questions. My husband keeps saying now "Why did Bambi have to die that way?"We are asking all the questions you asked. What did her freinds really know? And how did she end up in Texas where her so called boyfriend ended up going before she ended up missing? All questions we just don't know.Hopefully once they confirm this is Bambi they will open a full investigation and will find out from her so called friends some real answers. Please all of you keep asking your questions. For it helps us in that maybe something you ask will trigger something in us.So please keep this thread going. This helps our family for we know Bambi will never be forgotten and that to the very end when we finally see someone come to justice for Bambi's murder we will always know we had many people out there who cared a great deal for Bambi even if you didn't know her.You are all very special and we Thank You a great deal for being there for us keep your questions coming.I will try to answer what I can.Sincerly Lorie and the whole Dick Family

Ok people,This is an update on Bambi. My mother an fathers DNA was just sent out to Fort Worth,TX. for the test two days ago. We all hope they will do it sooner than 6 months. Maybe there is someone out there that reads this site that has pull in Texas. We know the names of the girls that went with Bambi that night and the police have them. I will not post them, not really sure that I can and I do not want to mess things up for the police. Besides I"m sure all of you understand news people watch this site and I'm guessing police may too. Not that its a bad thing,I just do not want to mess things up. I hope you all understand this. I will post all of you what is going on as soon as I know. You have all been understanding and I thank you all for all the kind words that have been posted.
I would like to address another problem to you out there. Is there another way sites can make it easier to find missing people on there sites? Is there something that we can all do in the differant states we all live in to try to make it so all states list missing people. I may be wrong, but there has to be a better way. Thanks for hearing me out. Paul Dick

My condolences, we understand and agree you shouldn't post the possible witness names. What do you mean by finding missing people easier, like finding UIDS? I agree it's not something that most people even know about exist on the internet.

No need for apologies. We respect both your family's privacy and also wish to see justice for Bambi. We certainly do not want to risk jeopardizing the investigation.

I think that a major improvement would be if authorities went back and reviewed the cases, such as Bambi's, where the missing person case was closed once the missing individual turned 18. My concern is that there are more victims and families who have fallen through the cracks over the years due to their cases being prematurely closed. It certainly would be a great legacy for Bambi to have such cases reopened and listed on the necessary websites.

Hi Paul!

You are absolutely correct in that you shouldn't post any names until LE has had a chance to do their work! It sure does seem that the investigation will be taken seriously.

As far as the missing persons/UID sites go, I couldn't agree more that they need improvement. We are working on it. It was a case similar to Bambi's that brought me to WS. The girl I was looking for was 17 when she went missing. She was listed on missing children sites until her 18th birthday, then she disappeared....again. Her case was not picked up on the missing adults sites and, as a result, she fell through the cracks for quite some time. She was finally ID'd, but it could and should have happened MUCH sooner that it did!

Prayers to you and your family!

To Paul & Laurie I would like to state how very sorry I am, but hopefully it would give Bambi's folks peace of mind to know she has been found after so many years.

To Everyone here at WS,

I would like to thank you all for your efforts in sleuthing to hopefully bring this mystery to a end.

Apparently I missed this case trying to read all posts on Haleigh Cummings.

I knew Bambi she was a wonderful, beautiful, free spirited girl. We have sent emails to Sgt Holmes in regards to this case. They have all of our contact information.

If the family Laurie, Paul or anyone would like to contact me your more than welcome to. Just PM me.......Laurie years ago you called me.

I'd love to say more but since this could be a murder investigation I will not.

What Fairy and everyone else has said-ditto :blowkiss:.

Paul, when you get a chance, check out the NAMUS website and the missing persons project going on. The data base is due to start running against the UDRS site this year so that likely matches will pop out. HOWEVER-if you take a look at the number of cases listed on the missing person's side, it numbers less than 2K I believe. Does anyone know if the databases like CharleyProject and DoeNetwork will be dumping into NAMUS this year?

The NAMUS project is an attempt to standardize reporting as well as a start a single database location for Missing Persons. It is a GREAT idea, fwiw. JMO....

NAMUS sounds like a good place,I will check it out. WE need one datebase, which will make it easier for people like me. Maybe they can also make the site do a search when you put in details on the missing person. Keep up all the good work you all do.
Thanks Paul Dick

Exactly!!!! I'm sure many of us are hoping for exactly what you describe in NAMUS. Can't wait!

http://z10.invisionfree.com/usedtobedoe/index.php?act=idx Porchlight for the Missing and Unidentified lists all missing and unidentified cases from anywhere without restriction on this board.
We have the same cases listed by country or state on the satellite boards like PorchlightUSA or PorchlightCanada, etc

Hi Paul

Sending out lots of good thoughts that the wait will not be a long one and that you, Laurie and your Mum and Dad and family will soon have the answer as to whether ths Jane Doe is your beautiful sister Bambi.....

And no information should be posted that can interfere with the investigation.

Once this Jane Doe has been tested against the DNA And if it turns out to be Bambi, nont only will she now be laid to rest in peace with her own name, but then the investigation can be fully active and investigated as to who committed this heinous crime

My thoughts are with you all at this very hard time

Everybody on this site has been great, and my family thanks all of you for your kind thoughts. We have just found out that the third ring on the jane does finger was given to her by one of her friends. So now we know that the rings on jane doe are all accounted for. We gave one ,her birth stone, one of her friends gave her a friendship ring, and the wedding band is my fathers.People are talking which is a good thing.Just wish things would move faster than they do (DNA).WE in ours hearts know, just need that proof that its Bambi so they can open an investigation, they are asking questions. The police depts. all over the country should feel greatful that there is people like yourselfs that take the time to do what you all do and try to help. I for one commend you all for the work you do,you preform a great service. I will not let my sisters death go in vain, some good will come from this.
Thanks to you all

Paul,
I want you to know people in the Texas panhandle have searched for the identification of your sister for many years. I am also a member of the Doe Network and have personally spent countless hours trying to match Jane Doe to lists of missing persons. This particular Doe has been my number one priorty since I live in the area. You have probably already searched the websleuth site, but if you haven't they have actually copies of the newspaper articles from when the doe was first discovered. I am trying to be objective and refer to her as Doe, but in my heart I know she is your Bambi. As soon as I saw information on your sister I had no doubt. I can't tell you how excited I was - not for your loss, but that our Doe might as last have a name and her family answers. I about drove my husband crazy - I was bouncing off the walls.
I do have a comment on the wedding band. A size 7 would be a very small size for a man. Of course, I have no idea what size your dad wore, but it's worth checking into. I have always felt this case was special and unusual because there was no sexual assault - not your run of the mill kidnapper, serial killer. I think the boyfriend connection is very strong. As for the ring, it could have been purchased in a pawn shop and the bandaid attached so it would fit. If this is Bambi I feel she was killed by someone she knew because she would have survived almost a week and that is very unusual for a stranger abduction. Also, our Doe was described as neat and well cared for so, again, I think that rules out a kidnapping or being held against your will. I do hope the name of the boyfriend is supplied to the police. If nothing else he may be able to provide important information. As for the girlfriend, maybe she promised not to tell where Bambi had gone and then got scared as the situtation became serious. I don't know, these are all conjectures.
If you aren't reading the messages on the Doe Network I just want to reiderate what I said there...If this is Bambi, we will all morn with you. If it is not, we will all continue to help you search.
Bless your family and your parents who have carried this burden of unknowning for so many years. If I can help out here, let me know. I have contact with LE here in the panhandle and might could get additional info if you needed it.

Hi, Thank You for trying so hard to figure out who this girl was.We know in our hearts this is Bambi. The wedding band could be Dad's for he wore a 7 unable to wear it at work it was put in a drawer.Ater he retired he had put on weight so he couldn't wear it.We had no idea that you could read anything being said about Bambi on the Doe Network.See we don't know to much about these sites. We're learning thou Thanks to all of you.You said something about articles. We have articles from ICARE at the bottom of the Doe Network site. Are they what your talking of?As far as the so called boyfriend and the friend's of Bambi I assume once the investigator's have the DNA that it is Bambi they will open the investigation and will speak to whom ever had contact with Bambi before she disappeared. The investigator's have several names and hopefully we will find out just what happen to her.Her killer has to be brought to justice.Thank You again for all your help. All of you with your questions have been great. It has helped us ask alot of things and get other answers we didn't even know.We just found out she had been seen at the concert with a guy who possible is doing time .Could he have had anything to do with Bambi's disappearance we don't know but we sent his name to the investigator. But we have to have the DNA done so the police knows this is truly Bambi so they can open up a full investigation. It's the waiting that's going to kill us.We want them to have a positive ID so we can move on.We want to put her name on her grave and have the police find out who did this and bring them to justice. They will.We know how hard everyone is working on this.Bambi's killer will be brought to justice. Thank You all again. Sincerly Lorie and Paul

I keep thinking about Bambi, and just wanted to drop by and say I'm still praying for her and for her family. I hope you all receive answers very soon.
I've never seen a match that was so perfect in 8 years of sleuthing, though I truly don't wish for this to be Bambi.
Again, my prayers and thoughts remain with those who are thinking of and missing Bambi.

I'm sorry, it is on the I Care site. The link is
http://icaremissingpersonscoldcases.yuku.com/forum/viewtopic/id/743

I'm glad to know that was your Dad's ring size. I know we all feel pretty sure about the chance of this being Bambi, but I have a question, if you don't mind. It's about her teeth. They Doe's teeth are very unique. Do you feel they match Bambi's? I am sure you are right about the investigation. As soon as they have the DNA match they should be pursuing the murder case.
As for the Doe Network, go to www.doenetwork.com and choose contact us and send an email explaining who you are and they should grant you immediate membership. Once in the site, type 55uftx in the search box - that's the Amarillo Doe's ID number on the site. Then you will see all the topics that have been discussed on her and other potential matches that have been checked out over the years. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask. I don't know if I'm suppose to include this info here or not, but you can also contact the Doe Network Administrator Elizabeth Sinor at [email protected] and she will take care of you. :) Please let your parents know they are in our thoughts and prayers.
