The babysitter was reportedly a friend.

IMO the long talk to the babysitter nad crying more likely indicate distress connected to her relationship with the ex. After all, she ran to his building and kept calling him although he didn't seem to have replied.

If she disappeared over custody, what was the end game? When is she going to reappear?

Great points and I don't know. More than a few scenarios are open yet to me.

She did not head straight to that building though, now we know she head away first and turned around... Was she making a choice...?

My main theory has always been this ex is the one who did something to her.

I still have that theory Yet, we did not know about her length of time at the bar, her pointing a gun in traffic, nor her heading out but turning around...

So your guess is as good as mine. I don't know the end game. However, her child is with her family and the father has apparently given up and not done as required... If I had to make a choice, and thought my parents would have a better chance than I... Well, I would put my child first and cry my eyes out...

Again, just thoughts...

I must have missed something? What was her father required to do that he didn’t? TIA!

Not the original-poster, but I think they were referring to the son’s father, not Prisma’s father. I think because he gave up following through with the custody issue :)

@Gigi3 - thanks! Now that I re-read it, I see that. :oops:

Wish we had text messages to see if there is any other info...

This case is so perplexing to me. I have to wonder in her inebriated state, maybe just some tragic accident happened and she hasn’t been found OR maybe someone accidentally hit her, panicked, and then did something to hide her? I really have no clue, but I keep hoping she will be found soon for her loved ones sake!! MOO

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. Not Prisma's parents, I would never say that about them, they are missing a daughter. I meant the father of Prisma's son. He went for custody but then did not do as he was required to. I believe, someone correct me if wrong, he only recently had been required to pay child support before she disappeared.

I hope that is cleared up--I did not realize what I said was not clear.

@ilovechili - you were clear! My comprehension was the problem.

I’m wondering if she and her son lived with the babysitter. Could be the reason the babysitter called the police so quickly, kept the son overnight and took him to school the next day, all without notifying the parents.

Could be a possibility. Has anyone ever known what the baysitter's name was? It seems like they were close friends but that's all we know here. Makes me wonder about that one hour phone call. Was the plan made at that time to go missing. Or did something really crazy happen afterwards.

Texas mom, 26-year-old Prisma Denisse Peralta Reyes, is reported missing hours after failing to pick up her 6-year-old son from the babysitter. Police find security footage of Reyes at her last known whereabouts, but there is no trace of the former member of the National Guard.

She had lunch with the ex. The ex lives in that building. She also knows someone else in that building. It isn't clear if she knew the ex was going out of town. Her car was on the other side of the street (Roseland Ave) from the parking garage entrance (approx 75 to 80 feet from the garage gates). She is at the first floor elevator on the video.
Thanks a lot. If she had lunch with the ex, then he left the restaurant a few hours before she did, so are you saying he left town in those few hours but she didn't know he had that planned?

I've worked on some cases in the years since retirement, so I've learned a little as I went along. I only work on cases with video footage or a still shot that is relevant to the case. I've come to a few conclusions in this case, but I've only been here for a few days so forgive me if I say something stupid. I've deduced some things, one of which is related to the report that Prisma had a gun. This may not seem relative, but it is for a secondary reason.
I believe that it's true that Prisma was carrying a gun. Whether she pointed it at someone is not an issue in this for me, only if she had a gun. Two things I saw on the video convinced me. To begin with, she ran from her car to the building, something not necessary unless she was very late for something, or in this case, if she feared that the cops would show up. She knew they would be called and she knew she better drop the gun somewhere before they caught up with her. That explains why she drove to her ex's building and why she ran to the building from her car. She needed to drop the gun where she could retrieve it later and she needed to hurry before the cops showed up.
Next, when she entered the building she took a strange route. She circled to the right of a post, instead of walking straight ahead. I think she did that so that the post could block the camera's view, so that she could slip the gun into her bag without being recorded. If you watch closely you'll see her make a very quick transfer of an item from her hand into the bag, doing that mostly while hidden behind the post. The item was the right size and generally fit the description of a handgun, I saw it enough to be confident saying that it was a hand gun.
One thing I'm not sure of is, she was said to be talking on the phone with the baby sitter I believe, so did she already discover that her ex wasn't there and if so, how did she do that? If she didn't go upstairs yet and she's talking to the babysitter, how could she have known that he wasn't there? I would have expected her to leave that building if her ex wasn't there but she lingered for awhile and I wonder why? I'm not sure, maybe you guys know? There are 3 more things that we know and these things fit the theory that I'm working on. I'll talk about that later when I know more.
Just one more thing; I have a hunch that the clues needed to solve this aren't hidden well enough to count the old guy out. Give him a few days or a couple weeks, ......then we'll see.

Hi marco and welcome.

Great theory, the only problem is the gun was found in her Jeep, I believe under the seat. She could have been hiding something else though.

Also while I am not the best at knowing the times of all calls, that call you see her on at the apartment building is not to the babysitter I do not believe. The sitter was called earlier and the call lasted almost an hour.

I too though have thought she may have been hiding from LE.

She did, however, head out of the area on a highway towards home or work for some miles but then she turned around and went back to the apartment complex for some reason...

I hope this info helps.

I don’t think we’ve been told the babysitter’s name or her relationship status to Prisma (other than being the babysitter). I personally think she must know more than has been published. The family says she won’t speak to them. Hopefully she told all she knows to the police.

Welcome marco855!

I think she ran from her Jeep into the garage because a car was going through the gate and she followed it in. She didn’t live there so she didn’t have access. You can see the gate closing behind her as she runs in.

The babysitter's name was mentioned in one of the news articles. If I remember correctly, our VI confirmed that she was Prisma's friend.

ETA: The article states that the babysitter is a friend of Prisma and gives the name.

Thanks. I hadn’t seen this article previously. It’s the first time I see that she told the babysitter during their 3:00 pm conversation that she would pick up her son at 7:00 pm. Did she always pick up her son at 7:00 pm? You seem to know this case inside out. What time was she supposed to get off from work if she hadn’t blown it off?
