• Other: Medical - Suffers from epilepsy and takes medication for it.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Rhyne was last seen as he departed from his residence in Angleton, Texas on March 22, 1977. He was planning to stop at his place of employment in Freeport, Texas to determine if he still held his job. He has never been heard from again. He was driving his green 1969 Chevrolet 210 pickup truck at the time of his disappearance, which has never been located.

Rhyne's younger brother died in 1998. In his obituary, it was noted that Rhyne predeceased him. Authorities believe he may have been taken against his will. His case is unsolved and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Rick told me he was going to his place of employment off of FM 2004 which was a chemical transport company to pick up his check. According to the company, he never arrived. As far as I know Rick was always looking for better work but I wasn’t aware of any intentions of going into Freeport that particular day. Rick told me he would be back in about an hour. Unfortunately, Rick was acquainted with a number of people with criminal records and at the time he was dating a co-worker’s daughter. While the co-worker remained in town the girl conveniently disappeared for quite some time when Rick failed to return home. There is a great deal not known in this but neither I nor any of my family are able to believe an accident occurred. I would like to thank Adventures with Purpose for their efforts in trying to locate Rick. We miss him as much today as we did the day he left".

Does his epileptic condition have something to do with all this? As the comment says, he associated with individuals with criminal records... perhaps they robbed him? abused him? what happened to the truck? did he die of an attack from not taking his medication?

Could the co-worker or the daughter have coveted Rick's paycheck? Or been upset that he was potentially leaving for opportunities elsewhere? jmo

It doesn't show that it's been compared on Namus, wouldn't hurt to submit it.

Ricky is described as having an old fracture of the left arm above his wrist, a fracture at the middle joint of the middle finger of his right hand, and a broken right collar bone.
Is it unusual for them to not include those details for the UID if it was present?

Richard Allen Rhyne has such soft, sad eyes in that photo. And I know he'd gone to check on his job. So he figured it was unstable? Maybe he took off at that point, and/or maybe someone took him by force.

Am seeing he was nicknamed Tricky Rick, and he has this gold door on his truck (pretty distinctive). There's this UID in Salem County NJ from 1979, believed date of death was winter 1978-1979. He was wearing a jean jacket with gold letter "R" on one jacket pocket and a very small gold cross on the flap of the opposite pocket. He's est 5'8", 150lbs, 18-22 yo. Had some jewelry, pack of Marlboro cigarettes. On one side of the pack the words "Meth" and "Weed" are written along with some art work. On the other side of the pack, the words "Joints" and "Pot". Also a book of matches. The matchbook cover advertises Tolz Realty Co. in gold. So if he's got matches from a Cape May area realtor, he may not have been in the area very long. And jmo this John Doe also has a soft, gentle type of look in his eyes.

Is anyone aware of whether there are any other images of Rick? There's something (jmo) of a resemblance there I think. But that would be a very, very long way for him to have gone from his original point in TX.

Not sure what you are talking about or which case you are referring to we only work cases in the state of Florida
