Man shoots, kills girlfriend on Christmas Day in San Antonio (San Antonio Express-News)

A 28-year-old woman was shot and killed by her boyfriend Thursday morning on San Antonio's North East Side [police said].

A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting but has not been formally charged.

According to police when officers arrived the suspect was found on top of the victim, who had been shot in the chest.

Police said Roxanne Sanchez was shot and killed in the 4300 block of First View Drive during an argument with her boyfriend, 31-year-old Benjamin Poehlman, on Christmas Day...

Rodriguez says her daughter was leaving Poehlman, and alleges it wasn't the first time he had become violent with her.

Police said they found the alleged shooter, who is confined to a wheelchair, locked in a room with the victim...

A public records check shows that Poehlman has prior convictions on drug and weapons charges.
