Rivera (27/now 28) arrested (6/22/21) & charged (6/23/21) with tampering/fabricating evidence in the death of 5-year-old Samuel Olson. $100K bond. Posted bond on 6/24/21 & is out.

6/23/21 Update: State’s Motion for Bond Conditions filed. Next preliminary hearing on 6/24/21. James G. Sullivan is his attorney of record. $100K bond set. Terms of Rivera’s bond agreement: required to turn over his passport, forbidden from coming into contact with anyone associated with Samuel Olson, including Theresa Balboa, Balboa’s mother, as well as Samuel’s parents, Dalton & Sarah Olson, cannot possess a firearm, ammunition, or other weapons & bond agreement requires Rivera to wear a GPS tracking device & stay away from children 17-years-old & younger. Bail review hearing on 6/25/21.
6/24/21 Update: Prosecutors say they’ve located what is believed to be the murder weapon that killed Samuel; they’re hoping to release those details very soon. Rivera stood in silence as he faced the judge Thursday morning. He was accompanied by his attorney who lobbied against some of the bond conditions set forth by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. However, prosecutors stuck by their demands. The judge, however, did grant a few exceptions to the bond conditions: Where Rivera lives, he has a cousin who is turning 17. The judge made an exception for that since Rivera is forbidden from being in contact with a child 17 & younger. He’s on house arrest, under current terms. The defense noted that he checks in with the bail bondsman weekly & needs to do that. The judge allowed the exception. And GPS monitor. All other restrictions still apply. Bond review hearing on 6/25/21 was cancelled as that was taken care of on hearing on 6/24/21. Next arraignment hearing on 9/8/21.

Bond $500K.
She was jailed on 6/2/21 & was extradited from Jasper County Jail to Harris County Thursday, 6/3/21.
*Charged (7/8/21) with capital murder-under 10 years. Denied bond (7/8/21).
*Charged (11/29/20) with assault (on family). Bond $5K. Bonded out on 11/30/20. Bond $100K (set on 6/7/21). Back in jail.
