Can we stipulate that indeed, Law Enforcement is a dangerous occupation? And then, move on in search of the facts of the Sandra Bland case? JMO

Have any other sources mentioned that? I then wonder why she would have filled out the 'staff observations' section.

Is a document such as this signed? Was the full document shown?

It was said on NEW DAY with Cuomo on CNN. I didnt see any documents he was just talking about their protocol. I imagine the staff fills in the 'staff observations' AFTER the client finishes their portion. I assume they would sign it but who knows. Luckily I have never had the opportunity to fill one out.

Sandra Bland's Voicemail from Jail: 'I'm Still Just at a Loss'
Jul 22, 2015, 9:15 PM ET
By MEGHAN KENEALLY

Sandra Bland said that she couldn't believe what she was going through in a haunting voicemail that she left for one of her friends while she was being held in jail.

"I’m still just at a loss for words honestly at this whole process," she said on the message obtained by ABC News owned station KTRK and confirmed by a local judge. "How did switching lanes with no signal turn into all of this, I don’t even know."

The voicemail message lasted for about 22 seconds and was made after she had an initial court appearance in Texas following her July 10 arrest. http://abcnews.go.com/US/sandra-blands-voicemail-jail-im-loss/story?id=32624003

The family Pastor said today on CNN that her mugshot was actually taken AFTER she died. Her family believes that according to the Pastor and spokesman. Is there a way we can investigate that claim?

Sandra Bland: video released from inside county jail leading up to hanging
African American woman, 28, died in custody three days after Texas traffic stop in which supporters say dashcam images show trooper was agitated
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/20/sandra-bland-arrested-officer-annoyed-smoking

The side bar on this article links to a database kept by the Guardian of an alarming statistic that I'm hard pressed to find in US media, with the exception of Cato Institute's National Police Misconduct Reporting Project, of course.
Guardian's "The Counted - People killed by police in the US" - 644 calendar year to date.

Sandra may not have been killed by police but I do believe she'd be alive had Officer Encinia not threatened to 'light her up' with a taser for failure to obey during the traffic stop for her turn signal violation changing lanes to yield the right of way to law enforcement.

This is why I'm :waitasec: the check marks throughout the handwritten doc are the same as I said before. In fact I'm confused by all of the documents

EEK! That's grisly! No idea why they believe that. I guess whoever was the photographer and witnesses could verify when the mug was taken. Isn't that a part of the intake process? JMO

Getting killed is a hazard in many occupations, but there is one glaring difference between death risks of law enforcement officers and those of other dangerous occupations: only police officers face the threat of murder as a part of their job.

Wrong again. More then twice as many taxi-cab drivers are murdered then police officers. So police officers are not the only ones who face threat of murder as part of their job. But they are the only ones who can kill anyone who could possibly be a threat to them, even if they are not armed. Anyone else would go to prison for what cops do.

This lady killed herself by her own hand and was in jail for breaking the law. She had drugs in her system.

Of course I feel bad for her, but this blaming LE BS is getting old.

WS is (was) an LE friendly/supporting site. I hope that continues to be the cause UNTIL there is PROOF that LE "killed" this woman. Look at what poor Darren Wilson had to go through before it was PROVEN that he did absolutely nothing wrong.

On the other hand, no matter what the investigation proves, it will fall on some deaf ears because said deaf ears don't want to hear the truth. Ever.

I think it's entirely possible to respect the police without having to also throw one's support behind unethical officers or those who have committed crimes. In fact, I struggle to see how someone could claim "good cop" status if he/she is not actively trying to root out the clearly bad ones. Simply not abusing one's authority does not a good cop make. Standing for justice in all situations is what makes a good cop. imo.

And FTR, I suspect Bland did die of suicide. But I also believe, after watching the video, that this officer abused his position/authority and may have had a moral if not legal responsibility for at least some of what ultimately happened. She moved to another state for her work, and her job may have been put into jeopardy by an arrest. Can you imagine the pressures that might have put on someone who had bipolar disorder (and was she given her meds in jail? Presumably, but it's hard to say), a history of depression and a history of suicide attempts?

ETA: I also really struggle with the idea that unless one is in lockstep with every single thing every police officer does, one is anti-police.

The pastor said they could tell because the wall behind her face looks like the floor of her cell, not like a wall. And the shadows are not correctly lit, ? ---they think also because she had an orange jail uniform on already---

But I have seen them [ I watch JAIL on cable occasionally ] put them in their orange suits before intake is finished.

If you google her name plus mugshot ---it is all over twitter and FB --the theory and reasoning behind it

I asked Waller Co. why 2 different answers to #SandraBland suicide questions. Here's answer.

Right ok so why the discrepancy on the same form?

Handwritten screening for by O. Prudente says yes at 17:32.

Typed which has the words 'Booked 07/10/2015 8:15pm' says yes at the top and no at the bottom.
Medical intake 8.17pm by Magnus, Elsa

We're told toxicology reports will show Sandra Bland had marijuana in her system, but it still does not tell us why/how she died.

Investigators also working to download data from Bland's phone. She may have been texting and/or taking video during the traffic stop.

He was very provoking, unecessarily, ........not how an officer should behave in my opinion.

I agree. I discussed his attitude last night with my SO- former LEO himself. He said that most LEO know they are not going to be met with hugs and kisses (okay I'm totally paraphrasing here) on a traffic stop and that they generally ignore the "attitude" as best as possible and try and make it as civil a traffic stop as possible. But he also said there was a small # of officers who were either thin-skinned enough to take offense at the attitude, or the other kind of officer who liked getting "attitude" so they could use their "power" so to speak. He and I don't generally agree much about law enforcement and their techniques - but even he agreed that the cop in the Bland stop was out of line and escalated the situation. When I told him I thought the cop should be fired - he disagreed but said that the cop probably shouldn't be returned to a position where he's dealing with the public.

It's still pretty unbelievable to me that a simple matter of not using a turn signal turned into such an ugly situation.

She was in a dress that is in her property items. Someone posted here mug shots .com link for that county and they all have same bkground. First page of her booking report has both front and side view mugshot. SMH ws sandra bland property booking doc.JPG

Are there any stats on who does the murdering/the perps? That would be of interest I'm sure.
